  1. Purchased new. He sold the S to Carvana. Already owned a Y. Got another Y for his wife. Feel bad for the person who buys this from Carvana.
  2. Do you remember the mileage? Makes a huge difference.
  3. My son-in-law has a 10 year old Model S. ~90,000 miles. Electric motor is dying. Repairs cost more than the car is worth. In my area a used S with similar mileage runs ~$20K I would venture a guess to say the typical 10 yo ICE with 90K on the clock can also have a motor problem. I don't think the replacement motor would be more than the vehicle is worth.
  4. Hehe...antiques roadshow.
  5. I so miss Mark. I laughed at the original caption. Something about making them get off the jumpsuit before it got messy.
  6. My original thought was to try and get some idea if I was out of the ordinary. To be sure every one involved a willing partner.
  7. I think the biggest problem EVs have is the promise of some bright new future where they save the planet from total destruction. While the kids have been scared into believing the adults aren't so sure.
  8. I get it. But this is the only place I’d ever say these things
  9. You mean like assholes?
  10. No one knows me here
  11. Used to be those big box rentals didn't allow you to tow anything. I don't know if it's still like that.
  12. I wish. Northeast Ohio resident since 1964. Moved here from Florida
  13. Yes but why would they? There has to be a compelling reason to spend the money.
  14. My son in law is a bigwig with Aurora https://aurora.tech/ I'm not sure about the public accepting this tech.
  15. The convenience of my truck is boat towing, hauling yard waste, the occasional moving of objects, and the comfort of 4 WD during snowstorms. I don’t know anyone who has a truck that doesn’t use it for some or all of those things.
  16. I think there's a place for both. I don't see ICEs going away anytime soon. There's so many industries that rely on ICEs. If EVs are your thing that's fine. I'll stick with gas buggies as long as I can.
  17. The chances of your vehicle being bone dry in your driveway are nil. So are the chances of your EV being 100% discharged. Point being the amount of time involves to bring them to whatever percentage range you choose. The answer seems to be home charging. In my area it will be ~$2000 for a setup installed. That's roughly 40 fill ups before you break even. And we don't have an EV yet. Not a doable thing for people how make $15/hr. If you really want the changes to happen you'll need to government to pay for the home conversion.
  18. https://fox8-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/fox8.com/news/watch-how-a-high-speed-chase-on-the-turnpike-ended/amp/?amp_js_v=0.1#webview=1&cap=swipe at least make sure it’s fully charged before attempting to evade law enforcement. lol
  19. I've stated in the past that SC has helped me adjust many of my views on things. We all live in an echo chamber. Step out of your comfort zone and you might find your views change too.
  20. https://time.com/6342343/nuclear-energy-climate-change/ COP28 is underway and grand commitments to triple nuclear power by 2050 are recognition of the following reality: There is no way, absolutely none, that the world’s energy transition away from fossil fuels can be achieved without a massive increase globally of nuclear power. As I've said all along...
  21. Looking to hire and finding someone are two different things
  22. Just catching up? It’s been that way for a long time
  23. You guys have your lap belts on for that turn?
