  1. Most people skip B and just get C. I skipped both and went from A to D. It saves money.
  2. Actually there is a school in Ca. that teaches it with no prior canopy flights. They use it to train canopy control before a person skydives.
  3. Maybe this will help http://www.speed-flying.com/
  4. True, it is not an american website. But the person who asked the question was from the united states. If you had asked the question it would have been worded different.
  5. heres a vid from a flight i did yesterday http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vue6icuaOeY
  6. Sorry. HG= hanglider PG= paraglider speedflying= footlaunching smallish wings(8 to 16 meters) speedriding= the same as speedflying but launching with skis. Speedwings are mostly made overseas, so they are measured in meters squared, not square feet. I fly a 14m which comes to about 149 sqft. The harnesses are different too, look more like a paragliding harness, with the risers attached at the hip, not the shoulders. So you actually are reclined in the harness, not hanging from it. Very comfy but takes a bit of time to get used to after hanging in a harness so long. The wings are slightly different from a skydiving wing. They have mylar stiffiners in the nose and a few down the ribs. The fabric seems different too as it is some kind of zp but seems lighter. They are a blast to fly and with the increase in jump tickets and gear I do see it becoming more popular (at least in the US) in the next few years. Hell, its free.
  7. The term groundlaunching works when your with a bunch of skydivers. But when your around the HG's and PG's they get confused because, well, we are all groundlaunching. Speedflying and speedriding separates that.
  8. Tried a small mesh slider, no difference really. Did not go to a smaller canopys slider, rather another mfg. who makes sliders smaller for their canopys wich are the same size in sq ft. ie a dagger 266 slider is alot smaller than a fox 265 slider, ALOT different.
  9. I have a question: would a smaller large mesh slider (smaller than the stock one you get) slow the opening down or speed it up. One would think that it would speed up the opening, much like putting a smaller slider on your skydiving canopy. But with the smaller large mesh slider, wouldn't it stay up longer on opening due to the lines not being able to expand as wide at line stretch. Getting pounded on 6 sec. slider up 265 fox vtech. any ideas or comments? Jake Neises
  10. I have used red danger tape, avail. at any hardware store. 1 roll will probably last a lifetime. I have since gone to break cord, being that the tensile strength has been tested, and the other stuff only in the field.
  11. I was able to get a .43 for it. Works well. I know sony makes 3 different lenses for it, I bought an aftermarket from Best Buy. Seems to work great on base jumps, but I havn't skydived it yet.
  12. Anyone jumping the newer Sony DCR-HC20 or 30? If so, what do you think? Are they making condoms or D-Boxes for them yet? I have an HC20, have not yet skydived it, but made a few base jumps and found it works great. If anyone has any feedback on what they think please post.
