  1. Sarah the 9 year old color expert say your rig's colors are good for the circus. THE KID HAS SPOKEN!!! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  2. Even my 9 year old kid says it's cool! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  3. oooohhh. yesssss. Quite tasteful. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  4. aaaccchhh... puke... puke.gag. What an ugly rig.
  5. I won't jump if it's under 55 F. on the ground. I have jumped in the past with a Sizzle suit, I was quite warm, but I really need the feel of wind on my flesh. The less clothes the better! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  6. Rolling the tail excessivly to get it in the bag is a bad thing. You are just asking for a line over mal. Have you checked out a Psycho -pack? It's safest and fastest way to tame a ZP canopy. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  7. I jumped a round main and reserve until 1972, and had a round reserve till 1985. I think the current square reserves and their deployment systems are far superior. How many of you have had to deploy a bellywart reserve and had to pull it back in, throw and shake it to get it to open? Most of you under the age of 50 don't know how good you have it. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  8. Please, I think we need to petition the FDA to wave VFR as applied to skydivers. I believe the USPA has started this effort. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  9. The transition to a SabreII would be easier. As far as which is "best", that's your decision. Demo them both many times. Never get in a rush to buy gear, it usually causes regrets. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  10. Ok, you've become a tandem master. What does it pay per jump on average? Can you feed yourself making 25 tandem jumps a week? "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  11. Tri's are a good utility canopy that are known for good openings and all round reliability. If you are looking for a more spirited 7 cell you might want to demo a Diablo. The Diablo out performs the Spectre. (I have jumper both) I would recommend a Hornet over the Sabre II because of cost and history of excellent performance. Demo ..demo...before you decide. And good luck!! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  12. The Xaos seems free from those problems characteristic of most elipticals. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  13. Of course! I've jumped in rain and through rainbows of ice. It's a great incentive to laern how to sit-fly! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  14. What does "Chopper John" fly? "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  15. Do the riser inserts require TSO status? Is a rigger required to install them?install them? "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  16. I prefer the Mirage. I think it's the best combination of everything we look for in a rig. My Vortex might more comfortable, the Reflex easier to pack, the lines on the teardrop are better. BUT it's the G-3 for the all-in-one do-it-all-well rig. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  17. While I don't have the stats for canopy lines, I did have experience with similar Dacron and Nylon braided cord. About -30C was considered the lower working temperature. Colder that that and there was conpromise in structural integrity. BUT....you really can't look at one variable alone. There are many more factors you must consider when determining textile performance. I wouldn't sweat it... "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  18. I had about 40 minutes total in the tunnel last Dec. It was great on the belly. For Freefly it sucked. The tunnel needs to power it up quite a bit for it to be a viable freefly learning tool. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  19. Nothing but the highest praise to Roy at Rigs & Things. I've purchased most all my new equipment from him. I had a couple problems over the years, but you can count on Roy to make it right. It's great to see a company that puts the customer's satisfaction 1st!! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  20. RSL debate again?!!! This topic is like a merry-go-round. Poping every two months. I started skydiving in 1968 and SCUBA in 1971. Equipment was simple and not really that reliable. The sports were small in participants because they were restricted to those with the skill, talent and balls to do them. Now the wonder of science has allowed the half-wits, stoners and incompetents to enter our sport. Look at the fatality reports...technology advance is giving us diminishing returns. There is a solution to the increased number of fatalities...stay in the airplane! "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  21. Let the expert speak! Go Magio! I fully agree with you. Trash the RSL once you learn to skydive. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  22. *** Direct copy?? No way... the Hornet's reputation was established long before the SabreII. PD probably wishes the SabreII had the reliability and utility of the Hornet... Jump them both (I have) before you make wild assumptions. The canopy's are completely different. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  23. The mix and match problem was more pronounced with thegear used years ago. The newer modern gear components are more compatible. Always check with a rigger before mixing components though.. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  24. I was recently told by a rigger that the Hornet is gaining popularity for swooping. The loadings are way over recommended limits. Has anyone seen this? "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
  25. We used to call them "Splat Wings". There is a guy I know who has 600+ jumps on his and loves it. He was lucky and bought a good one. There is some inconsistancy in all canopy manufacturing and inspite of bad reports on a canopy performance some may fly well. Nova's are still out there. I jump an AR-11 and think mine is a great canopy... PA is still making the Bat Wing. "Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
