I heard that, since it is a Jump for the Cause fundraiser, that competitors have to wear bras to compete. True?? Do the male competitors get extra style points for that?

What planes will be there? Skyvan maybe??? Chopper?

Yahooo...the pond has appeared on the beach! Everybody do the traditional sunny skies dance so we can see some swoopin! And yes, I hear the prize money is substantial for this meet. Awesome! And, there are TWO helicopters arriving tomorrow. Did I mention the SKYVAN IS COMING? See everyody for practice jumps Friday!

If you have never seen a Swoop competition, you will love this event! the pond is bigger than ever this year - lots of freestyle happening.

I just got confirmation. The Aire Express Skyvan is flying this weekend at Skydive Sussex in north Jersey! And the Caravan is there this season. But the Skyvan's coming, the Skyvan's coming!

I know the Alouette Chopper is gonna be in Elsinore next weekend (14th or 15th??), but I also heard it was coming to Perris this weekend!! I want to be there Thursday to jump my second favorite bird if it's true. (Skyvan is always #1 for me, Chopper close #2!)

HEY LOUD DAN!! The dates are set, Jan 31 - Feb 1, so you better book your ticket. Here's hoping for 3 feet of powder snow, and a warm helicopter. Everybody wants you on their beer olympics team!

Check this out! It takes a little effort, but it is worth it. Rice Pudding 2 C Sugar 3 eggs 1 gallon whole milk 4 tablespoons vanilla extract 2 1/2 cups Carolina Rice Put eggs and milk together in a big pot on stove. Add sugar, and heat until sugar disolves. Add vanilla and rice, and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently. Don't forget to stir. Takes about 1 hour to cook. Pudding thickens as it cooks, and also as it refridgerates. This is a great recipe for a rainy Sunday, so lets hope nobody gets a chance to cook it! Cheers.

Congratulations to Jono Gordon for FINALLY breaking the Skyvan record, set at Cross Keys by Rob Branch. Our Chief Pilot, Jono, flew 42 Skyvan loads on Saturday, August 7th, besting Rob's record by 3 loads. Jumpers handed him food all day, and as far as we know, he never left the plane, and still managed a great fly-by at the end of a perfect day! Upholding the usual Cross Keys tradition, Will held Jono down after he finally disembarked, and jumpers congratulated him with pie after pie! He even hobbled in later to join us for the BBQ on the deck! CONGRATULATIONS JONO - you ROCK!

Oh YAH! I totally love that chopper! I know you can put 4 skydivers in there, and they let you launch off the struts, too. Those Monkey Claw dudes just hang off the strut and it's great vid. They have a website if you wanna see a video. www.jumpthechopper.com. It doesn't give you any clue about how LOUD IT IS. THERE IS MORE THAN ONE REASON TO CALL IT THE SCREAM MACHINE!!!!!

Looks like it's time for me to go back to Sussex again. There are a lot of us out here who have been away too long! Which Aire Express planes are coming (you KNOW what I am hoping for) and how about some RW organizing??
