This is a great opportunity to promote out sport to the public. I hope to give them a good show!

  5. Big-Way Sit Round Record Breaking Attempt June 28th In October of 2007, the local crew built a 12-way sit round; lets make it bigger! Everyone who thinks they have the skills is invited to give it a shot. We will start by building a belly round then key it up to a sit round. Registration is free. Register inside manifest by the time manifest closes on Friday, June 27th. Manifest will have registration forms or you can find one attached here. Meet at 7:45 a.m. on June 28th to kick things off. We will do at least 5 jumps, maybe up to 7. After the jumping day is over we can head to the Bent Prop for some appetizers on the house and a beer or two or ten! The first of four scheduled Swoop Clubs at Skydive Arizona will be this Sunday, June 22nd. •All skill levels welcome. •Each event will consist of three rounds of competition. •The swoop courses and point system will be set up so everyone can do it. •Registration for Swoop Club will close Saturday nights before each event. •We will meet at 7:45 Sunday morning to kick off round one. •There will be prizes for the winners of this week and an overall prize at the end of all four comps. •Other Swoop Club dates are July 27th, September 14th and November 23rd Volunteers Needed During Swoop Club I could really use a few extra hands. I could use volunteers to help judge and course set up and break down. If anyone can help during any of the events please contact me at the DZ or via email [email protected].

  8. The 2008 Gauntlet Tunnel Competition is going to be off the hook! Really how can you go wrong with a prize pool of $21,000 USD? SkyVenture Arizona invites you to participate in a HUGE cash purse tunnel competition!! This competition is for 2-Way VRW, 4-Way VRW and 4-Way FS teams in one of the largest and smoothest wind tunnels in the world. Oh, the $21,000 prize pool does not stop there. Margarita Mix Off Saturday, May 31st at 6:30pm Pool Side (please, no gold thongs) If you like making or drinking margaritas come and join us on the last Saturday in May to have a margarita showdown. Let’s see who can make the most killer margarita on the DZ. Pool side and icy margaritas as the suns goes down after a day of jumping, it just does not get much better then that! Competitors: We will provide a shade tent, ice, electricity and tasting cups. You will need to provide margarita ingredients and any appliances needed to make your margaritas. Tasters: Bring 5 bucks and a clean pallet to the pool. The winner gets the 5 bucks and you get nothing but starry nights.   11. Ouragan is still up and running. Myself, my team (arizona arsenal) and all the people we sell suits to are very happy with them. Arsenal flys the hell out of our suits (tunnel and air) and they hold up like no other suit I have ever had. I love them!

  13. Arizona Arsenal is organizing VRW Mentorship Program May 10th and 11th. The event is free and we hope to have as many participants as possible. Please let us know if you think you will be coming out for the event so we can get an idea of how many camera flyers we will need. Here is some info about the program. Vertical Relative Work team Arizona Arsenal is excited to offer a mentorship camp aimed at promoting and improving Vertical Relative Work skills in a low pressure and affordable manner. The Mentorship Camp will focus on training basic and intermediate 4-way VRW skills. Camp participants will be put into 4-way teams. There will be a minimum of one Arizona Arsenal member in each team. In some cases there may be two Arsenal members on each team. If you already have a full team you prefer to jump with you may still join and we will ground coach you and debrief your jumps. The first day of the camp will be a training day, the second day will be a competition day. The comp will consist of 3 rounds. The rules for the competition will be taken from the U.S. National VRW rules. We will be training the intermediate dive pool. Cost The cost for the participants is minimal. Participants split the cost of the camera flyer’s slot and fee per jump. All the mentoring is FREE!!! We will be doing about 5 jumps per day. Skills Covered During the camp we will be mentoring the following skills: getting to know the formations, dive engineering, block technique, exit technique and effective dirt diving methods. Jump routine will include dirt diving, visualizing and a video debrief. Who Can Participate? There is a minimal skill level flyers must have in order to participate in the mentorship camp. Participants must be able to comfortably fly head down, approach a three way, dock on it and fly the slot. This minimal skill level is necessary to participate in Vertical Relative Work. VRW Camera If you are interested in specifically learning VRW camera, please let us know and we will work with you specifically on VRW camera skills. Sign Up Today!   14. Wow, what a fun weekend!!!!! Thanks to everyone who participated, helped out, judged and supported the meet. Mandarin, thanks for helping us coin the name of this meet and the future VRW meets. The “Where’s Mandarin? VRW Meet” I put together a spread sheet of the rounds, draw, scores, teams and standings. Also, check out the photo. Enjoy! The next VRW meet will be at Skydive Lake Elsinore. “Where’s Mandarin? VRW Meet Part 2” will be June 14th and 15th. See everyone (but Mandarin) then!!!!
  15. Here is some onfo regrafing Registrations and an attached registration form. Registration fee is $150 per team cash ($30 per team member) or $155 per team credit card ($31 per team member). Registration is due to Skydive Arizona manifest before Friday April 18th at 6pm. No late registrations will be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS! There will be a mandatory meeting where at least 1 team member must be present in the main hanger on Friday evening at 7:00pm to go over rules and receive the draw. 3 USPA nationally rated judges, including Nationals Chief Judge Judy Celaya will be present and Omniskore will be used for the judging.

  17. I am not sure if they are coming? Does anyone know if Mandarin is coming? That would be sweet. Last I heard, they were not. I also think TJ is bringing a team, but I am not sure. There is also another team from so cal coming. I miss you guys so much and I can not wait to see you!!!!!!!
  18. Hello Guys, Arizona Arsenal is organizing a VRW competition at Skydive Arizona on April 19th and 20th. We will be using this forum to post info as details unfold. Here is what we know so far. Date: April 19th and 20th Judges: Nationally Rated Judges are coming to the event. This will provide a great opportunity to speak with the judges and get a feel for how they will be judging the nationals. The judges are: • Judy Celaya (national’s chief judge) • Tim Wagner • Gary (sorry not sure what his last name is) Teams Confirmed: • Paraclete XP • Arizona Arsenal • Arizona Drive (a bus) • Ellsinore Jedi • Team Dysfunction We have also heard that there are a few more teams coming from Lake Ellsinore. Please let us know if more teams are planning on coming.
