Just wondering what camera is better quality. I know the XT is lighter and has 8 MP but is the 10D a better quality camera? What would you buy and why. Forget about the weight. Hi, I just picked up my Inst. from the landing area and noticed a big rip/tear exactly in the middle of the center cell and exactly in the middle of the bridal attachment point (BAP). The BAP is ok on the top skin but the bottom skin has about a 3' tear. SKydive Sebastion had the same problem. THey jumped Strong gear and A2's. The A2 canopies were brand new and within 60-100 jumps, all 3 canopies ripped in the same spot as mine. My Inst. was in Sebastion this winter so he knows about the tears. Anyone else have similar incidents? My Inst/Rigger thinks it's a canopy flaw. If it is, I would like to know what they are going to do about it. I disagree. The side clips should be as tight as possible. Less chance of side spin. Sure I can undo the clips without having them stand on my feet but that's not as smooth. Just unclipping, as the last guy said, makes them feel like they are falling away. Martin, We were/are in the same situation. I just did the change over 2 months ago. You will NEVER go back to outside video. We are a cessna 182 dz. We did 500 tdms last year and we are set to do 800 this year. My wife did the outside video this year. But you save so much money because your plane doesn't have to fly 1/2 as much, making your cost per load cheaper. Suggestion, I would get the upright positioned camera glove. I have both up and down and I don't like the angle of the video. For me, I have not noticed any difference between the two when it comes to the snag factor or getting the door opened or anything else. Martin, PM me if you want more info. Just wondering what you all do after you open with the tandem student. Also, how do you unclip the lower laterals of your student? I personally get the students to stand on my feet and push down, doing a calf raise and I also pick them up by the harness at the hip and then release on side at a time. I have different glove. One from Rigger Rob and one from my Austrailian buddy, Kieran(It's kinda like the Way Cool glove but abit different, Neoprine). Rob's glove was made in the upright position and Kieran's glove, the camera is laying down. I prefer Rob's because it's got the camera upright. It's looks better on video, in my opinion. I made a few modifications to Rob's glove and I really like it, very easy and I placed an altimeter directly below the .3 Royal lens. It's part of the glove. I love it now. Our pilot was jumping a Phantom Wingsuit from 14,000 AGL above Mineral Bottom Canyon. 2.5 minutes of freefall. I'm sure he'll post later and put up some video soon. Shelley and I are in Thailand right now. Tonsai/Railley Beach is the place to go. Kiddi lives at Tonsai in the Adaman Bungalows. It's 420 feet, super overhung and the bar is there when you land. YOu have to try the fried chicken with cashew nuts from the 'freedom bar'!!! Buy Kiddi dinner a few times for taking you up. You really need to be able to climb abit. Get a climbing harness and he'll help you up. It takes 1 hr to the top if you can climb. Remember Kiddi is ALWAYS taking people up. Treat him like the Budda. He's very smart and loves BASE jumping. There is 11 exit points but only 1 really nice and easy. We leave bangkok on Feb 13th Lets hook up. We'll be in bangkok Feb 12th sometime. Doing last min shopping. CHow, gotta go pee.
