  1. I've written plenty on the past but I don't think I've ever written one to my wife and we have been together for 10 years (married for 6?). I still have a box with things that my ex-gf wrote, drawings and music that she composed and played for me along with a few pictures of her. Maybe I should not still have that box but what the heck am I to do with it? BTW I never look in that box, it's in another box in the garage and I'm 99% sure my wife knows about it. Over the years I've found letters that were written to her and a few that she had wrote, all before we met, I never said a word about them.
  2. 2500, those are the best. I LOVE to let one rip and tell the plane I have a present for them, then exit when everyone else is going all the way up. Cessna, Otter, CASA, whatever. I don't have to smell it.
  3. One of the best ways to research something is to actually do it (if possible). Look at the Dropzone database and find the one that is close to where you live, take about $200 and go jump. (If you don't get video you didn't really jump, add about $60-$100 for video/stills) Like one of the other posters said, the Dropzone.com search function is your friend. Skydivers on this site are asked this question at least a few times per year. 1) Always wanted to. 2) Yes 3) Hard to put into words, try it, you will see what I mean. 4) About 400, Plan on doing it until I can no longer do it. 5 or 6 years. (400 in 5 years is NOT very many.) Here, I did a search for Research paper for you. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=search_results&search_forum=all&search_string=research%20paper&sb=score&mh=25
  4. I guess I should be happy then, I'm covered if I die on the way there or if I have a packing mishap. I'm not sure if anyone has died from packing but anything could happen. I still think my motorcycle is more likely to get me killed (way more stupid people on the road than in the airspace above the dropzone). Maybe someone would take my rig off and drag me to the street? (I am kidding, of course)
  5. under the exclusions section of my insurance from work it says: Travel or flight (including getting in or out, on or off) in any aircraft or device which can fly above the earth's surface, if: (a.) The arcraft is being used: (1.) for test or experimental purposes; or (2.)by or for any military authority. (Aircarft flown by the U.S. Military Airlift Command (MAC) or similar service of another country are not excluded); or (3.) for travel or is designed for travel beyond the earth's atmosphere; or (4.) by or for the named Policyholder or and of its subsidiaries and affiliates. (This exclusion applies whether the aircraft or device is owned, leased, operated, or controlled, as defined. Chartered aircraft, as defined, are not excluded); or (b) you are (1.) serving as pilot or crew member (or student taking a flying lesson) and are not riding as a passenger; or (2.) hang-gliding; or (3.) parachuting, except where you have to make a parachute jump for self-preservation. Oh, and I can't die drunk or high.
  6. I use Firefox and Adblock Plus when It's loading slow because of those ads. (Most of the time I use IE7)
  7. I got one also. I'm thinking REALLY? PM SPAM, yeah that's nice. I'm going to copy and paste a PM.
  8. Here is a link to a news story about it. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hJQ2ZUKnXI9QgZie35T4UwNgekUAD97KCNJ80
  9. Someone that gave someone else extra money to get a few extra words on their USPA card. I don't think money used to be in the picture but it sure is now.
  10. What I don't know may not hurt me but the pizza there sucks. Anyone that knows anything about pizza knows that you need at least a mozzarella provolone blend if not a little Gouda to make it better.
  11. For sure, because he can! If you want some action just get the peanut butter out.

    Disney World...

Tram? Parking lot? I thought you pay the extra money to stay at the park and get on the monorail. I am going to FL next week to open a store in Gainesville then taking a week of vacation afterwards. My wife wanted to take our 2 year old girl to Disney and I said no, she would not really remember it. (My earliest memories are from when I was 3) We will wait until she is 6-8 years old, maybe even 8-13. I have family in Bell, FL (middle of BFE, just off of the Suwannee River that is flooding right now), I'll do my thing in G'ville and hang out with the family then go visit the wifes people in Clearwater. Maybe a day or 2 in Orlando. I'd love to go and jump but I don't know if I'll be able to get away from everyone. BUT the middle of May I have to go to Orlando for a week to work (South OBT by the airport, Rocket Ct) and I WILL try to come to Deland for a day, I'm thinking Thursday (I think the 21st), so it will be raining on that day, everyone beware, I'm headed towards Florida.
  13. Not just a reply to you piisfish, A few things from different posters. I barely have money to jump, let alone send to anyone else. I have gear from manufacturers outside of the US that is way better than something I could get from a US manufacturer. (Think Cypres and L&B) The Manufacturer didn't have anything to do with what happened. If I remember correctly (and I'm too lazy to do a search) there was a long hold for that jump and the passenger went to the bathroom or something like that. Anything that happened should be on the instructor (and I'm sure the instructor sees that everyday). I don't think the DZ has closed. Their web site is still up also.
  14. +1 to what AggieDave said. You can try but she will not listen. If she has never been to the DZ, try to get her to go once. My wife and 2yr old go a few times a year. She just whines about the money part, not the safety aspect. But then again I was a free climber when I met her (No Rope).
  15. You can get your own credit report free and check it out. https://www.annualcreditreport.com/ I'd be more worried about my medical information (Mib), I don't have any reason but it's kind of scary thinking someone can just pull that information. www.mib.com
  16. Beats me. I live in Ohio and am working in IN. It was on the news in IL so I assume they mean for eveyone. I wasn't charged any of those fees and I have a Chase card a WaMu card and a Providian card, so I have 3 Chase cards. Granted 2 of those are paid in full and the other one gets paid off every few months or so.
  17. I just saw on the news (Don't know where, I'm in La Porte, IN so maybe Chicago?) that a New York Judge Ruled the $10 fee illegal and Chase has to refund that fee to everyone they charged. The news channel was ABC 7 Edited to add this link. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5jPgG5_IsvSPUN1nN2S2TUlLfpmAAD978FGAO0
  18. Just go buy a new-used one. If you are in the Columbus, OH area you can just pick it up. http://www.retagit.com I got 2 P4 2.8's with 1024MB of RAM for $180 on Friday. Or spend $50-100 on a PSU that may or may not be the problem.
  19. I use Spark, but I have gateways to most other services and accounts on more than I'd like to have.

    The thermostat

But you are in the sunshine state, just fill your yard with solar panels. That should knock the bill down 2 to 3 dollars.
  21. I'll agree with that. With all of the changes the past few years most people would have to give their right arm just to get a coach rating let alone an aff rating. I guess that's what happens when the USPA is ran by DZO's. Didn't new jumpers used to be trained by old jumpers that just wanted more people to jump with?
  22. It seems to me that a few years ago S/L was dead at a lot of dz's but has started to make a comeback recently. If I could have picked S/L when I was training I would have but the cheapest way for me was tandem to IAD. AFF was WAY too much $$ for my pocket. S/L seems cheaper for the DZ's that have a 182 sitting around, less instructors to pay, shorter classes and maybe even a better sense of accomplishment from the student?
  23. More important is to teach the people that use those drawings what a level is. Oh, and maybe a 90 degree angle. The inside of boxes look so much better when there are 90 degree angles in all of the wires inside of them and the box is not hanging on the wall funny. It doesn't matter how you draw it if the people that build/install it are retarded.
  24. I unbox and plug things in. I open, close, and relocate stores for a certain pharmacy in the US. Computers, registers, phones and such. When not doing that I do IT consulting for anyone that needs it, if I have time. Really I just google search their problem and blindly follow someone elses fix.
  25. But if you are on a hill, they are really at eye level. If i do see someone naked in a window do I look next time? Sure, if it was worth it the first time. I don't hide in the bushes or stop walking.
