  4. In lieu of a close call under canopy with a friend and the passing of a well known skydiver/DZO, I feel it is time to call everyone together for a safety meeting. After the sun has set, we can gather in a bfr (big friggin' round) in the hangar, eat pizza, drink kool-aid, and have a round table discussion. Throughout the day I will provide index cards for you to anonymously submit a question, concern, scenario, or comment for us to discuss as a group. It will be good to hear replies from perspectives of beginning and experienced skydivers. I will be the first to admit, even though I have over 500 jumps, I still have a great deal to learn. It has been 6 years since I took the first-jump course. I am certain there are probably some procedures and philosophies that have changed since then. I hope you will join us. Lots of love, Carrie Oh yeah, Tippy is getting a bath and haircut on Saturday!

  7. Oh my, we sure had a great deal of fun. Now I must warn you, these guys are not everyday cross dressers, I think! Louie brought out boxes of clothing from the theater company he works for. We played dress up then went to the local watering holes. Surprisingly, none of us got beat up by the local folks. http://www.ews.uiuc.edu/~atopp
  8. Mark your calendars! Arrive early and bring your Visa or MC. There will no doubt be a huge bbq & bonfire party. Don't miss this fun filled weekend, raft dives, tube jumps, magic carpet rides, tracking dives, and whatever else we can think of!
  9. Archway is now flying a Caravan. Come out and jump out of the big door! JT-Good luck to you. We wil miss you.
  10. I love our dropzone-there is no place I would rather be on the weekends than at Archway. There is a vibe that can be felt by anyone who steps into the hangar. If you are ever passing through the midwest, try to stop by. Archway is located in Vandalia, Illinois, just an hour away from St. Louis, Missouri. The skydivers, staff, and pilots are an exceptional bunch. The King Air and Cessna make for a fun day of great skydiving. Whether you are into freeflying, formation skydiving, or crw you will find welcoming skydivers eager to jump with dz guests. Plus there is free freefly coaching nearly every weekend! Hope to see you soon! ~Carrie http://www.archwayskydiving.com
  11. It was great to meet the crowd that Tina, Anne, and Joe speak so highly of. I do regret not making any jumps with you, but that is what happens when you are working at the dz. I hope you visit again soon, want to jump and play more often with you-my kind of people. Take care, Carrie xoxo
