Swoop cord near incident - check for freedom of movement

Maybe a birdman style deployment technique would have saved the day here! That is both hands on BOC pouch, throw PC out, mirroring action with left hand. -
What is the cheaperst way to buy new gear? I am looking at american or french gear and would prefer to minimise any tax payments too. Does anybody know the cheapest place to buy a voodoo, mirage, vector, javelin, infinity or atom? I am skint but i would like a custom container for comfort, i'll get old canopies. I am in the UK at the moment so can get to france easily--how much for an atom legend if i pick it up?Any french dealers out there?

I had similar experience. Maybe a dummy pull would get him out of the way. Track, wave off and a dummy pull if he is still there, or maybe get your pilot chute out in your hand so he can see it before you let it go. He should have been more considerate to you but maybe he lost altitude awareness---did he have an audible? Next time talk about a break off height and agree that if one of you starts waving then you turn and track away. You did all you could have done and you were lucky he did not strike you.wave before you dump and maybe do a slow dump--hanging onto pilot chute for a while.Thats all i can offer

What is the toughest reserves around? How good are the Smart resrves from South Africa? I am looking at PD, Techno (PDF) and smart. Any experience of landing any of these? PD is an old design, isn't it? Techno looks tough and newer--how does it land? No idea about smart--marketed as there are no tougher reserves and great lift too! What would you riggers buy for yourselves if you were freeflyers?(possible high speed premature dep. of resrve)

I rented fully articulated javelins after AFF and after 4 jumps the bruises came back. This happened a few times. They curve around your legs differently and have poor foam padding compared to other rigs. I am not interested in javs mainly because a lot of them have a tendency to open their main flaps head up. Can't believe they still make them that design! They could keep the same design and have the flap tuck down and in, like atom legend--from a distance it would look like a jav but would be more likely to stay shut freeflying. If they did this i might buy one. However, until the herd mentality stops they will not change it.People survive AFF mainly using javs and they stick with them forever, scared of even trying something else.It is great for RW but far down the list for any other discipline.I know 3 people who have had prematures--all 3 on javs, one of which had a headdown prem jumping a pull out.He was sponsored by sunpath! Anyway it is comfort on legs, not pin safety that i am interested in. Any other people buying new rigs that still bruised you badly?

I got bruised up legs during AFF and later on using javelins. I bought second hand mirage and goodbye bruises. What are the most comfortable legstraps? I am interested in getting a new rig --thinking of atom legend, vector3 , voodoo and mirage. All are safe but which is most comfortable under canopy? Does anyone know of extra foam padding in leg stap options on these rigs or others? Any comments on how leg pads grip legs---voodoo seems to best fit contour of leg/butt. But they have little padding in them compared to mirage/vector. Any thoughts?

The new atmonauti website is wicked and explains it all -- lots of pictures and moves to work on that will keep you busy for years mastering! I now get a much better understanding of it than "in between tracking and headdown" It's a whole new way of skydiving. Enjoy the website and in finding the angle www.atmonauti.com

Are all hard husings from pad to 3 rings routed the same way?Are there any safety conurtations to it?Any rigs to avoid?Any problems with stiff pulls even with armoured risers?

Both were talked of as the perfect canopy between stiletto and velocity-- so which one is better? Apart from airlocks is there any difference in performance?
