  1. I'm trying to plan a trip to Arco and need some info from some experienced jumpers. I need to know what the best place to fly into is, what trains to take, places to get rental cars, hotels, etc...etc... I was planning on early september. What time of year is best in terms of weather, winds, turbulence? All details and info would be appreciated. I will be going with jumpers that have experience with the wall, but its easier to pull my own teeth out than plan a trip with BASE jumpers. Thanks! Expect Nothing. Be Ready For Anything!
  2. Hey, I have a burton snowboard. Maybe they will sponsor me! I even prefer to jump the downwind side of towers. SPeaking of Towers, Could anyone take me to one of those 2000footers with elevator?!? Expect Nothing. Be Ready For Anything!
  3. Personally, I refused to PCA my first jump. I went off TF hand held my first time, so I could experience a freefall, and because I would rather deploy with two seconds of freefall than None! It all depends on the person. I haven't done a PCA and don't really plan to. If I'm going to hike an hour for a cliff in moab, or 20 minutes up the hill in TF I want two or three seconds! 4. So how does one aquire set footage? Sounds really good. Expect Nothing. Be Ready For Anything!
  5. USB works only for Pics eh? I'm having the same problem with my PC101. I tried to use the cable that came with the camera. One end USB and the other fits into the camera. I take it I need to buy a firewire adapter so I can plug my 4 pin 4 pin firewire cable into the PC? Expect Nothing. Be Ready For Anything!
  6. 15 Jumps and I had my own gear Vector II ROL No AAD No RSL S/L was great. Bummer its fading out Expect Nothing. Be Ready For Anything!
  7. I also used to have the bad practice of unstowing the brakes low. Rick Hustler, on many occasions would unstow the brakes with just enough altitude for his canopy to reach full flight before he flared and untucked his landing gear. After unstowing my brakes at about 1200' It felt funny. It was becasue my right toggle came completely undone. Once your brakeline is free, there is no reaching it. It flies right behind your tail. I decided not to chop. It was the first time I had landed on Rears. This was Way before it was the latest and greatest technique. Winds were 8-10 which really helped. 180Lbs out the door under 130 sq Zpo (sabre clone) had a few hundred jumps at the time. Practice up high. Do hop n' Hooks from 10K Know your canopy Long Swoops! 9. As far as names go, MOJO is the best. Nothing will save you if you SUCK, but a little MOJO goes a long way! I'm going Non vented. But I will strongly consider a ZP composite. I don't plan on many low walls. Just not my bag. But I'd like to avoid a 60' stick up my ass! Expect Nothing. Be Ready For Anything!
  10. Well, so far two replies and two vented canopies. Why do you feel vented canopies have such an advantage? I have heard better control early in pressurization, and reinflation after object strike. Any experiences? Expect Nothing. Be Ready For Anything!
  11. What's up all. I'm looking for some imput. I have 21 BASE jumps S and A. I plan on mostly jumping the local antennas (600' and 1520') but will be taking a few trips out to moab and hopefully someday out to Eruope for the big walls. I have only jumped MOJO and DAGGER. I think the mojo opened cleaner than the dagger, but I liked the flight characteristics of the dagger. I want to get a new canopy but I can't decide on which one. I will be putting this into a Vertigo Warlock. Who has jumped the Ace, Dagger and Troll and what do you like / dislike about them? Many people have advised on a vented canopy, but I'm not sure that I need one or that it is necessary. I understand that the extra cost of the vents is cheaper than the medical bills and pain. What do you think??? Thanks! Expect Nothing. Be Ready For Anything!
  12. Its a good design. I was discussing this with an engineer a few years back, but prototypes had opening problems. The X brace is still a cleaner nose, and by looking at distortion in pics a more efficient wing. Someone needs to build a X brace with this design. It would be interesting to see if it would be a better wing than the Sensei. Expect Nothing. Be Ready For Anything!
  13. Yeah! Pretty much what I saw in the field. But where can I buy one. I think you can get a radio shack, but not sure what the name of it is..... Thanks! Expect Nothing. Be Ready For Anything!
  14. Ok, When you say solder it all up, is that the wires to the switch? And how does the switch connect into the camera? Do you solder the wires to a jack? Sorry for the pain in the ass, but if you could post a picture of it, I'd appreciate it! Expect Nothing. Be Ready For Anything!
  15. Can anyone tell me what I need to get from radio shack to make a tongue switch for my stills camera? Expect Nothing. Be Ready For Anything!
