  1. I just purchased a new M2 for another tandem system we've brought online at one of my DZs. On initial inspection, I'm impressed. The cutter housing is fantastic, having been flattened on two parallel sides so that the cutter cannot roll keeping the loop perfectly straight up and down through the opening. The display unit is rugged, super simple to use and the unit calibrates quickly. The packaging was very professional too, and while that doesn't directly matter, I infer a lot about a company and their attention to detail. For $1000 retail and a 15 years/15,000 jumps without service or even a battery change this is a steal! I'll be putting more online over the next few years and see how it goes. 4. They're all black death, out of 7500 Infinity rigs out there, 7400 have killed or maimed people. 3 of them were even found guilty of rape. My inventory of student equipment is exclusively Infinity, and if VSE made Tandem equipment I'd be using that too. What I've learned from coming across this thread is to be sure to send you on your way should you come across my DZ either for work or funjumps until you've had a few years to grow up. 5. Too bad you didn't make it down to the event Damien, it was a blast. How about we end this discussion lest we find ourselves with more regulation and less skydiving going on in the world. Demo is a word. The FAA uses it one way and people use the word every day to describe a million different things. I recently did some work for a hollywood production and was told I could not list my title as Rigger, even though by FAA definition I am one. I had to use Parachute Packer because 'Rigger' is a reserved word in the hollydork world. So... The FAA used DEMO, with a described set of parameters that would require us to file a 7711 for. Big deal now they're the end all be all of dictionaries too? We can still DEMONSTRATE our skills and call our jump a DEMONSTRATION OF OUR SKILLS, FOR SHORT A DEMO, even if it isn't a exhibition requiring a Certificate of Authorization. Hey I "demo'ed" a canopy from one of the manufacturers the other day... HOLY SHIT DID I NEED A PRO RATING??? We should be doing everything in our power to promote MORE skydiving, and less RESTRICTION of it. I don't see there was any real reason to start this discussion Damien. -a Abbie Mashaal Skydive Idaho Snake River Skydiving TandemBASE
  6. My WJ-AVE5 has become dark on the output. I know there are some gain controls on the inside that can adjust this but I don't know where to begin. Has anyone here been through this? Thanks. - Abbie Mashaal Skydive Idaho Snake River Skydiving TandemBASE

Abbie Mashaal Skydive Idaho Snake River Skydiving TandemBASE

  10. avenfoto! you too huh? come to twin and build an Idaho CRW team with me. tree and I tried to teach ourselves last year and it didnt work out so well. Eric Gallan came up memorial weekend and we did 2-stack rotations and some biplanes. I'm ordering a lighting but I need another crw dog out here. i got tons of hook knives in the hangar. here's a pic. CRW is definately where its at. With jump tickets going up and freeflailers moving to tunnel flying I hope to see more canopy disciplines like CRW flourish. suck it easy, Abbie Mashaal Skydive Idaho Snake River Skydiving TandemBASE
  11. I'm not sure where you get the idea I'm forcing this on my customers as test jumpers. I'm bringing it up HERE, to do exactly what your saying. The manufacturers are on this forum, unfortunately none have replied yet. - Abbie Mashaal Skydive Idaho Snake River Skydiving TandemBASE

  13. Hey Nick. Holy crap we're not fighting!
  14. the slider slide right up no problem, and the pack job takes to ears just as easily. I'm doing pushrod seals on the 182 tonight but tomorrow ill be packing reserves and will pack my personal one like this and take pictures along the way and post them for you and anyone else having trouble visualizing it. THere is lots of high speed data as base jumpers are using this slider-up off of large terminal walls. You can use any type of nose treatment as before to slow or speed opening the only difference I see is the containment of the tail. - Abbie Mashaal Skydive Idaho Snake River Skydiving TandemBASE
  15. I'm not saying mine is better. If I thought it was better I wouldnt be asking the question here. A lot of people feel its better in the base world (slider and sliderless) and I asked for an opinion from riggers (especially manufacturers) that have experimented with this for a lot longer than me or the guys I know using this method. You haven't really given me anything other than "the manual works" which is where I was at already. I (and probably others) would like to know why some of these other methods were ditched... as i mentioned in the first post " I'm sure in all the years someone has tried this packjob". I'm not trying to fly a jolly roger flag here, but it's stupid NOT to ask "why" once in a while. The world isn't still flat, right? Don't answer that. Abbie Mashaal Skydive Idaho Snake River Skydiving TandemBASE
  16. finally a legitamate response, and even with some pillow talk! Ok, I see, so you pulled the center-cell of the tail back over the folds so you can do the traditional s-fold of the bottom under the top-skin? COol, I didn't think of that. PS- go fuck yourself with a retractable baton. Nick rugai recommmends the 21" model.
  17. christ in a sidecar... please don't post here if you have zero relevant experience. stick to the freefly forum or bonfire please. Abbie Mashaal Skydive Idaho Snake River Skydiving TandemBASE
  18. FOR RESERVES. I'm on 'dropzone'.com, ya, not http://www.blincmagazine.com? Heh, the container manual or the canopy manual? Both usually have parachute packing instructions. Anyway, to clarify for this thread, I'm not at all concerned with any legalities or faa technicalities. I'd much rather deliver to the customer a better product/service than what any "manual" says. I'm looking for real world knowledge on the pros/cons of using this folding. Phoneixlpr- I don't see Rigger as one of the qualifications in your profile. Do you have any experience with testing different packjobs? If so, please provide useful information. - Abbie Mashaal Skydive Idaho Snake River Skydiving TandemBASE
  19. I'm sure in all the years someone has tried this packjob and I'd like some input. Its being used by many for fixed object jumping and I like the way the flakes contain/reef the tail just a bit longer reducing the chance of line over. here's a picutre to describe the folds. obviously this isn't a resreve, and there's no slider, but that's not necessary to desribe the differnce from the 'standard' reserve packjob. What do the rest of you think? Abbie Mashaal Skydive Idaho Snake River Skydiving TandemBASE

  22. Actually 2 of them are just some dudes I met a couple times and Jan I never knew. Yes, but now that they're out there if you have the link, feel free to forward it along. I'd rather it be passed along that way than just linked on a forum. You can email me and I will email you back the directory. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. 'Odd'? Are you sure you are 'normal'? It's a sense of humor different than yours. I find it 'odd' that people wash their hands after pissing, rather than washing up BEFORE you touch your dick. I treat my cock with respect and wash before, but since the majority of people don't follow this habit I'm considered the 'odd' one. Thanks for the non-sequitur. If I was going to let myself get drawn into a bigger waste of my time that this post already is, I would as you how you are part of "The Solution". Have you joined the Nazi Party maybe? Ok, that's a little harsh, but how about we agree to disagree and move on. kthxbye, a Abbie Mashaal Skydive Idaho Snake River Skydiving TandemBASE
  23. The population of Norway is HALF of just Los Angeles County in California, USA. Trying to unite all the jumpers in the USA is much more difficult. There's too many politics surrounding most anybody that tries to put in the effort. An association to fight for access is great, but not at the expense of creating another USPA. With that said, the ABP (Alliance of Backcountry Parachutists) is still quietly plugging away. The ABP is working at making getting NPS lands to offer fair and equal access. A "building day" is a long ways away in the US as some cities are creating local laws specifically against BASE jumping. -a Abbie Mashaal Skydive Idaho Snake River Skydiving TandemBASE
