  1. I'm a newbee and have had my first three at Taft. I will call tomarrow to see if I can get in Saturday (8/30) . Corky has been with me on my first three with Bethany and Matt. They are a great group of people that I look forward to spending many more weekends learning from and having a lot of fun with.
  2. I create web pages on a daily basis and while I agree that DreamWeaver is much more sophisticated, FrontPage is much easier for a beginner. I have the full Macromedia Suite, FrontPage 2000 and a few others that aren’t worth mentioning. If you decide to go with FrontPage you will want to get a provider that supports FrontPage extensions. It is not necessary to create a website but it gives much more functionality like counters and such. It also has built in FTP to upload your web as does DreamWeaver. At work we have multiple users posting to the same Intranet website and FrontPage works a little easier with multiple users/webs. I created templates for them to build pages and add them to our intranet. Good luck with whatever you choose. Chris
  3. I went for my AFF 2 and 3 today. My AFF-1 went by so fast I hardly had time to enjoy it. Today was different. Now that I had an idea of what I was getting into I had a blast. I went for my Level 2 this morning and the forward movements were so much fun. I felt like Rocket man!. I enjoyed my chute ride and did a few more turns than my Level one and slid to my butt landing. I had so much fun that I sighed up for my Level 3 right away. My level 3 was a sunset jump. What a beautiful view. I had stability problems but felt like a five year old at Christmas. I had a better chute with more maneuverability and did many spins and turns. I landed standing up. Level 3 is a redo. I need to relax without getting the legs on butt. Over all it was my most enjoyable jump. My name is Christopher and I am a Skydiveaholic. http://tophersworld.com/skydive.htm
  4. Great Job Angela! I'm happy for you that you got through so fast. Nice Pics. I can't believe you haven't developed your first jump pics yet. I ran to a one hour photo the next day. I am calling tomarrow for my AFF-2. Hopefully they will have an opening this weekend. Enjoy your next ride, Chris
  5. Thanks all for the replies. I will definitely go again. Unfortunately I let myself get a little too dehydrated Sunday and will need a few days to recover. I didn’t eat all day Sunday before the jump and while I did drink a lot of water and ice tea the 102-degree temp all day combined with the excitement of the jump caught up with me by Monday. I will take this weekend off and will go with AFF 2 and possibly AFF 3 the next weekend. In the mean time I am thinking of my next jump about every 5 minutes. I have watched the video of my jump over and over to see what I did wrong and right. I think I will be more relaxed on my next one since I now know what to expect in FF. Angela, Thanks for you enthusiasm to push my buttons and get me go for it. I’m glad I did. Good luck on your Hop & Pop. I’m sure you will do well. Katiebear21, It’s still there. People at work are looking at me weird
  6. If anyone is interested in reading about my first time experience I added a page to my web site http://tophersworld.com/skydive.htm

  8. Why wait? I waited until I actually did it. I didn’t want to boast and then cower when it came down to it. I didn’t think I would but you never know. I have thought about this for a long time. I really got interested when Angela - SkyDiveNFlorida started posting in another forum about her plans to go Sky Diving. It peaked my interest and I looked further into it. I wanted to go the AFF route and am glad I did. I am still riding the high and am ready to do it again. My AFF-1 wasn’t perfect but it was good enough to get me to Level 2. My climb out and release were textbook, my Free Fall was not perfect as I envisioned, Legs on butt, couldn’t read Alt until 6K, missed Practice RC Pulls, Pulled RC at 5K Canopy control and landing were great. I just started this great sport one day ago so I go back and forth on how soon to do my next jump. One week or two.
  9. Hi all, I have been lurking here for a couple weeks waiting for my first jump before I posted. I did my AFF-1 out of Taft, CA yesterday and loved it. I'll setup my AFF-2 as soon as I can get the off my face.
