yes they did the first machine gun was patented in 1718 the Puckle gun But no TV, radio, or definitely Internet so if one wants to take such an interpretation of the Constitution that only things that existed at the time are protected unless added by amendment. Would things produced by modern printers and copiers be protected or would they have to only use devices available at the time? The Constitution ain't the bible, ya can't just pick and choose pieces and interpret them differently. So magazine size limit does have an effect. Why did you state earlier it didn't? Interesting to see a conversation kept within tight limits, ensuring that nothing would have ay effect. Then subsequently resigning to the fact that nothing could possibly be done. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Evidently Democrats don't like due process anymore . . .
Bolas replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
So they're not actually stopping anyone from doing something (freedom of speech, freedom of the press), just monitoring and recording their activities. Don't really agree with what they do, but unreasonable does give them some wiggle room unfortunately. Were the FISA court to be given the right to suspend a "suspicious" persons right to bear arms either through seizure or prevention of purchase, not only would it be giving them active powers to impact citizens, it'd be giving them the power to basically remove rights at will without due process. If they could bypass "shall not be infringed" the other constitutional rights wouldn't have a chance. Not sure I'm clear. Do you not believe the 4th to be a right? I do and am against the special FISA court but as they're operating in grey areas their constitutionality is up to the courts. Also not the one proposing giving them additional power. What right(s) are the FISA court depriving of someone? Been sleeping for the past few years? What rights are they depriving a person of? What are FISA court rulings preventing a person from doing? The infamous history of atheism tells us otherwise. Atheists wouldn't be a protected class either. -

Neither are good comparisons as it's comparing a method of death to the deaths a group of people commit with some using the same method. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh. -

Just don't say using a firearm specifically designed for combat in any way helped drive up the body count. On the same token, don't say that due to certain laws, it was illegal for these people to have the ability to defend themselves. Laws had nothing to do with it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_Florida#Concealed_carry Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh. -

Religion groups should not be a protected class as it's something people choose and can easily change. Protected classes should be for DNA (race, sex, orientation) or where they're born As such, it's just a descriptor for a person. If something in addition to mental health issues caused someone to be violent, just say it. Was cross posting FB and here and apparently copy/pasted more than what intended. As for how you know about terrorist attacks, know how you know. . Though that did remind me of the presidential shocker. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

*** Okay, so you're going with the argument that one CCW wasn't enough, there needs to be multiple CCW carriers to stop an attacker. How hard does a target need to be before it stops being a soft target. Would two CCW have stopped the guy? Three? Did everyone need to be armed? Can you image the level of casualties if there were ten people in that bar shooting at each other? It would have been just as bad or worse. Arming everyone isn't a practical answer. What makes a target hard is the unknown. Just the potential for multiple CCWs is the biggest deterrent. Except for the fact that it's not just the venue's policy, it's law. Some feel the same about gun free zones. Not true. Still better then having no way to defend oneself. And the calls to greatly limit "gun free zones" limit the soft targets and give those a chance. No reason why both can't be done. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Whatever is proposed need to give a little instead of just take. I.E.: In exchange for increased background checks, CCW is allowed in unsecured gun free zones, but restrictions for unlawful usage are doubled. I don't recall any mention by HRC during the primaries in 08 about Oama not being a natural born US citizen. It did come from Clinton supporters, but not HRC or her staff. I do remember thinking that it was likely a bunch of crap, because if it was legit, then HRC would have been all over it. Ummm... No. She and the majority of the people and press treated Obama with kid gloves over fear of being called racist. Islamic State Members From the West Seek Help Getting Home

I must commend you for giving them a hell of a lot more consideration and charity than I would give them. What would I do? It's not printable here. Look, the most PC role in society at the moment is Trans. Why not give our erstwhile Daesh wannabes a chance at becoming poster children for LGBTO tolerance with a top-notch sex change (top and bottom). According to various sources, sex changes are a GOOD thing, so you would be doing these guys a favor. Yes. Make them ALL women. Then send them back to ISIS. You bet. It's working for Europe, coed swimming pools are safe zones (maybe not compared to ivy league US universities, but similar), everybody is very comfy, holding hands and singing the Coca Cola song. Now now. Depends what information they're offering in trade or can be persuaded to collect for help in "defecting." If one want to cause real change, start at the beginning... Make conception and maternity changes. Just because we can help a morbidly obese woman have a child, should we or should we tell them that they need to lose weight first for the safety of themselves and the baby before we can help. Just because we can save/revive a premie, is that what's best? Instead of what we can do for people, maybe we should start looking at what's best for them and all of us. The more centrally funded aspects of people lives are, the more individual choices impact others. If you needed more proof that George Zimmerman is scum
Bolas replied to yoink's topic in Speakers Corner
It's not excusing his bad acts (though offers a decent explanation), but the publicity they garner. Of course that could have been the point of the sale to begin with. Increase publicity/donations for security costs so has to play "the monster" to make enough to protect himself from those that think he is. Correct. Now why was it sold as one? Some will say because those race-baiters need to make money. Some will say because there really is a large race issue in the US that simmers over from time to time. Some might even say that the first is the cause of the second as a perceived race issue is still a race issue.
