I like the idea of where you post. How about from freefall? Get a PDA with a cel modem or bluetooth or a mobile phone with web capabilities. Write the post on your way up to altitude. Once out the door type a few more words or just click send and voila: freefall posting. Just make sure you have the PDA secured to yourself well. I've got 2: 1. Myself, jump 3. I was having issues with my legs and my JM's were giving me the leg signal (2 fingers)the whole way down. Started concentrating on fixing my legs so when the signal went to 1 finger (pull, duh) my brain thought "Okay I only have to fix 1 leg now, one is right" The JM pulled for me soon after. I was extremely pissed at myself and cursing loudly the whole way down. I had my first standup landing on that jump and didn't even realize it till a dude said "nice landing." 2. A girl who was doing her first jump landed about 1-2 miles away in the trees after ignoring all radio commands. When the JM walked up to her and asked her the standard question "What is the first thing you do after you deploy and do a control check" She casually responded, "You look for your shadow" She was following her shadow the whole time. Latest update I have: The nurses were taking him for another CAT scan to check on the blood clot that he developed on his brain - note - they may know by now, or else they will have the results by morning. On a tough note - is the extent of Eric's injuries. Not only did he break both femurs, but his right knee and ankle as well. In addition, Eric broke the bones around his eyes, his nose and his jaw. If the blood clot has disolved they may consider surgery in the next two days. If the blood clot has not disolved, they will consider a shunt to relieve pressure. When all is functioning well with his brain, they will do the leg repair and then at another time, the plastic surgeon will repair the bones in his face. Thanks for all your the good energy. Keep 'em coming. When he gets out of ICU, I'll print this forum for him and his wife and kid. Including Ivan's pictures.

Update: They postponed the surgery this morning because 2 blood clots have developed and there is some swelling on the brain.They are going to try and relieve the pressure first. The family really appreciates the skydiver support. Luckily they have great health coverage. Keep 'em coming!!!! Need some vibes, prayers, wishes, boobies, etc. for Eric Bobenhauser (Companheiro Rodriguez) He is in ICU at Charlotte Medical Center after a low turn on Monday in South Carolina. He has 2 busted femurs, an ankle, facial bones and the kicker is swelling on the brain. I saw him last night he was responding to people and looked like he was trying to sit up. They had him on a respirator just to slow his breathing, he could breathe himself. They were going to do a head scan this morning, have not heard the results. 4 times all in the same aircraft Skydive Orange's Super Otter (all though the first 2 was before the Super Otter engines were added. 1. First time was completely intentional. It was my first weekend at Skydive Orange with 3 friends and we couldn't jump due to winds. We were sitting around and Leon Toson walks up to us and says, "we need to get the some more people on the load to make it fly, get on!!" I told him we were students and couldn't and he said "Do an observer ride, it's on;y $20." 2 of us were doing AFF and one was doing static line so $20 was nothing to us. The three of us got on with static line rigs and were told if you have to bailout pull the silver. It was cool watching them leave and then the pilot dove us big time to the ground so we got 3-4 seconds of weightlessness. One of my friends yelled out "this is sooo worth $20" 2. Going up for my 4th or 5th AFF jump, the winds picked up and the ceiling dropped to 2,000 so I couldn't go. I told my JM he could go but he decided to stay. I think everyone rode the plane down. Since I was a student, it was a free ride. As we were going down I said to everyone "This is the ONE time that it doesn't suck to be a student." 3. Clouds roll in once we take off. Tried a pass at 5,000: no good, 4,000: ditto. The best we could get was 2,000. I had my A so I couldn't go, not sure I would have as alot of more experienced jumpers rode as well. 4. 1st night jump. Winds were high and gusting, like they had been doing on and off all day. I have a low w/l (.95) and had a few loads where I landed off that day. I got on the plane to help it fly and when we got on jumprun I asked the pilot to give me the groundwinds (hoping they might have steadied or gone down) they hadn't and I chose to ride. I got a few positive comments from the other jumpers on the plane and some more on the ground. I talked to some of the jumpers got their advice and jumped the next load. I still landed off... I'm amazed no one has said "keep the main and deploy the reserve". Not that I think it's the best idea, but the school of thought of "the more over your head the better" comes to mind. If you had sufficient altitude you could cut the main away if necessary. I saw a guy bring in a side by side Saturday, flare the main (it was the dominant canopy), and stand it up. I only know one guy that jumps barefoot, it doesn't matter what kind of jump he's doing AFF, TM, Coach, or fun jump. He jumps barefoot. Hw does this about 8-9 months of the year. You can't escape pieing. They'll just get you when you next jump there and it will be worse because you tried to avoid it. Take it like a man: announce it's your 100th jump and plan something crazy and stupid. Wear crappy clothes and hava change of clothes. Remember: If you don't get pied, it means no one likes you....
