Hey now, organizations and corporations are people too. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

First of all, your premise is flawed. The proposal isn't about keeping terrorists out of the country, it is about keeping Muslims out of the country. You assume that Muslim=terrorist. You also assume that terrorists are so stupid that they would self-identify as Muslims. If they are dedicated enough to spend 2+ years going through the refugee approval process, don't you think they might be capable of claiming to be Christian? Obviously there would need to be a test such as offering them a BLT. You got to hand it to these terrorist groups, they've done wonders with the CIA training they received over the years. If specific laws were made for taxing religious institutions, particularly ones that targeted one religion more than another, sure. But that's not what we're proposing. We're proposing no special treatment or designation for them. They're treated like any other for-profit business, nonprofit, or charity based on their books. Might there be some churches that are determined to be for-profit and they choose to not pay? Sure. And the same penalties that apply to other businesses would apply to them. Just the same as banks can foreclose on a church if they have a mortgage and don't pay it. But even if some houses of worship are seized, that's not going to end an entire religion. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

I'd hazard to guess there is a much greater percentage of overall churchgoers that are far right then there are atheists that are far left as Atheism, being a non belief tends not to influence one politically. Agreed. Extremism in any form tends to lead to intolerance of other ideas and compromise. Only if we let them. I think PC has quite a bit to do with the Muslim/Islam backlash because people are afraid to add location and race to the description and at the same time too lazy to distinguish which branch of Islam. Arab Muslims in Iraq Black Muslims in Niger Sunni, Shia, Kurdish, etc. So all end up getting painted with the same broad stroke, sometimes unfairly. How would removing the current special and "protected class" status of religion in the US lead to more religion in politics? All I'm saying is treat them like every other organization or group: have them open their books and tax them according to their income. No special rules or exemptions. Ex: the ACA religious org/business exemptions. As for politics in religion, that's up to the various groups as to how active they choose to be. I don't have an issue with a particular religion following candidate encouraging those in their religion and others to vote for them as long as if elected, puts the Constitution first before whatever their religion decrees and avoid clear conflicts of interest such as a Christian scientist chairing a science committee: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamar_S._Smith#Committee_assignments Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

From what I remember, churches can't lobby or have any political voice. There are religious non-profit orgs, but they have to pay taxes on donations used to lobby. You just showed how they get around that. You view religion like organize crime? Are you sure you're not a "militant atheist?" Good. How? ...and then how could non profits like planned parenthood still take money from tax payers and pay their leaders 500k+ a year. At least most of the mega church leaders write their own books and earn their own money to pay for their huge houses and big taxes. Lots of large charities and nonprofits take taxpayer money pay their CEO and board well, but also nowhere near what they could get at a large for profit corporation, which many also take taxpayer money in various forms. If the majority of a person's income is writing books, why does the subject of those books matter in determining their tax-exempt status? I'm not following. How would taxing them give them more political power? My guess is most standard places of worship would most likely easily qualify as a nonprofit or charity. The larger ones especially the "Mega churches" with their jets and huge houses for their leaders would be seen as for profit. If you're for the separation for church and state, how is taxing Churches a separation? You mean their tax exempt status they have now? I'd be for abolishing that too and treating them just like any other entity. If they meet the existing requirements for a charity or nonprofit, great, if not, they should be taxed. FYI, it wasn't added to paper money till the 50s: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_God_we_trust Around the same timeframe "under God" was added to the pledge: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pledge_of_Allegiance#Addition_of_.22under_God.22 If you're for the separation of church and state, how is having a religious statement on the currency or in the pledge a separation? I'd like to think an election or elected official would first be concerned about the constitutionality of something before their personal opinions on the matter came into play, especially if based on religious belief structure. At a school with that much pent up sexual frustration it's good they have guns as target shooting seems to be their only release. The behavior there is probably just like the behavior at any other university...they just lie about it a lot more. Funny enough, most muslims are the same way. Which begs the question, if you're not going to follow the "rules" and they're strictly locationally and/or situationallyvoluntary, why submit yourselves to them in the first place? Pretty hypocritical. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

As far as Jakee's question and the definition of innocent agreed to, the fact he was not charged (because he was killed) is irrelevant. This does not meet the criteria of innocent. Will agree excessive force was used and the destruction of evidence makes it worse. In most all cases of excessive violence or shootings by officers vigilantism is the cause, not cold blooded murder. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Laquan_McDonald#Laquan_McDonald B&E, (weapon possession?), damaging police property, and on PCP. That's not what I'd call innocent. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

Define innocent. If someone, regardless of ethnicity is in process of committing a crime, have just committed a crime, and/or have warrants out for their arrest, they're not innocent. Yeah. And? So you agree with the definition. So now that that's been defined, when did the police last beat and shoot an innocent black man? Michael Brown sure doesn't qualify. By no means am I defending the TSA. The execution is severely flawed, but the concept is sound. Additionally, since they're being audited that means they know their weaknesses and are trying to improve them. How many mass shootings have we had inside an airport? "Gun free zones" should be just that, not just on the honor system. If one does not want passive security (allowing those that choose to carry), they must provide active security in the form of armed guards and searches before entering. TSA.......LMFAO! How often do you hear about guns getting inside airports? How many mass shootings inside an airport? Much of what they do is security theater, but they are at least searching all who enter. in deep far villages of certain countries with muslim majority where twisted culture prevails over religion, and education is unavailable some women might be forced to wear a scarf. It's not what she was wearing, but what was said. Her clothing was just reinforcement. "my religion promotes tolerance for women." Promotes tolerance. Tolerance is what a religion should have for those who are non members. If the most they do is promote tolerance for certain DNA types that are their own followers, no wonder they have so many issues. Even sadder is members of said DNA type in a country where they have freedom of choice, choose to be part of a religion that thinks so little of them. Oh give over. You said it for a reason, so own it. Playing the "I didn't mean anything, random words just came out of my keyboard for no reason" game is so childish. Where is somebody more likely to have their money stolen, given to, or extorted by ISIS directly or indirectly, the US or Qatar? Even if this family has nothing to do with any of it, and it's not stolen or extorted from them the same cannot be said about anything they'd use the money for.
