  1. Skydive San Marcos. It'll be there in November... Big Blue Texas Skies!
  2. Hard landing. I posted it here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=643026;search_string=search_string;#643026 In the post I referenced my Level 5 jump even though it was only Level 4 (realized after looking at my logbook, doh!). Guess I landed harder than I thought!
  3. 2 1/2 months! Oh I don't want to hear this, I broke my fibula in 2 places 3 weeks ago Monday and my doctor is making me wear the damn boot for another 3-4 weeks. The first doctor said 3 weeks, and then the second adds 3 more. He's not lying to me is he! I'm dying already...worst case for me is to go in again and be told it's going to be longer. No, no, no, I don't want to hear this. I refuse to cry damn it. Glad your back in the air though. Blue Skies and Soft Landings.
  4. I'll definitely get more of them up, the best pictures I took were with my 35mm automatic, so I'm having to scan them. Glad you made it home safe! I better get back to work...
  5. This was my pre-second Boogie (Chad, I'm learning not to use that F-word). I had a blast. Saw some good friends from my home DZ, and met some DZ.com folk. Here a few pictures. Can you recognize Turtlespeed under all that beer! WooHoo!
  6. AggieDave! I never made it to level 7 but have decided to come on down anyway and soak up the vibes. I'll look for you, you'll recognize me by the big black boot on my leg, please just don't call me gimpy, hop-a-long, broke, chester... Blue Skies over Aggieland! Teresa
  7. Hey, not to change the subject...but getting the Super Otter is really great news for my home DZ. Is it true that it can get you to altitude in 10 minutes (
  8. Oh, it's a big deal alright! Congrats! Blue Skies and Soft Landings!
  9. Hi, don't think about it too much, just enjoy the ride!
  10. I guess when I say I wasn't scared, I mean I wasn't scared of getting hurt. My survival instincts that day were non-existent. I'd totally convinced myself that skydiving was a pretty safe sport. Well statistically it is because we've got jumpmaster's out there saving space cadets like me from themselves! LOL!
  11. I had the same reaction, I wasn't scared and as it turns out not respectful enough of the sport. Broke my ankle on my AFF level 4 jump Labor Day. Had a hard landing, didn't flair, didn't PLF. Just daydreamed my self into the ground. Believe me, I have a nice healthy fear now... Blue Skies and Soft Landings.
  12. Not only has he lost it, he's created his own reality and is actually living in it. What a maroon! This stupid student story definitely gets my vote, and I'm all for the Lutz trophy, though I'm secretly afraid I might be a recipient one day if I don't get my head out of my...
  13. Congrats on your A! So they didn't cut you any slack with the training, but did you at least get a family discount...
  14. Congratulations! Now don't forget to update your profile...
  15. Hi great idea you have, but I'm sorry I have to nominate my DZ. Their website not only got me excited about skydiving but convinced my husband that this was a great organization. I thought I was going to have to fight him tooth and nail when I told him I wanted to jump out of airplanes. I asked him to check out the site, his reaction, "looks like fun." This site has pictures of the staff and bios of their skydiving experience and qualifications. Something I haven't seen on any other website I've looked at. And to be fair, I have checked out other skydive websites but feel this one to be the most positive to date. Thanks for giving me a chance to plug it! http://www.skydivesanmarcos.com/
  16. Your story is too awesome, I am so happy for your sister, what a sweetheart. My daughter Zoe also has cerebral palsy. (My avatar is a picture I painted of her). We are very fortunate that she is verbal, and is able to use a walker. We call her gravity challenged because she's afraid of falling, but she wants to skydive one day! We've pretty much told her there is nothing she can't do, there is always a way around logistics, as your sister has proved! Tell her congrats for me! Blue Skies and Soft Landings Jaime! Teresa
  17. I've been telling everybody about my Level 5 hard landing, but looking in my logbook I realize it was only level 4. Now I'm not so sure I didn't land on my head...
  18. OK, how bad does the Arnica Oil smell? and camphor isn't that like Vicks Vaporub? I still have to go to work... I was joking with a friend this morning about how long it takes me to get to the bathroom, he suggested I start wearing depends, God I love that guy! No one at work has said a word about how "dangerous" skydiving is. They just mess with me at other levels...
  19. Thanks for sharing, I feel pretty damn lucky. Heal fast, OK. Angela is right on about the calcium. I've been taking it regularly for about a year now (mom's got osteoporosis) and I'm convinced my break would have been alot worse without it. Doc said I had strong bones.
