Glad you're going Infinity. What a great company Velocity is, and what a great product. I couldn't have been happier with the service, price, or equipment. I personally liked mini rings and smaller risers. I have the "normal" (type 8) webbing for the chest strap. Stainless hardware.... and I'll admit I knew it would not be "as safe", but did it anyway

May be the answer. I don't know. What about heat on the other side of the door? What about if the fire started on the INSIDE of the fire proof room you just created? I think we all agree that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Due to some pretty tight restrictions Elsinore was not able to put up fixed structures (don't know if that is still the case) You can put in all the fire proof panels you want in a mobile home structure. That things gonna burn. That being said. Elsinore has done us (the instructors) right by this fire. Even when they are taking a large financial hit they are taking care of us.

Maybe it's time to try Birdman

I've seen a lot of people posting that they are impressed with what the manufactures have done. So am I. Please remember that when you go to purchase your gear. These aren't monolithic companies they're jumpers like you and me. Make sure you drop them a note letting them know why you chose their company when you decide to purchase. Rich

Another manufacturer I would like to mention. While I have been asked to not mention specific details about the deal. VIGIL USA has stepped up BIG TIME. Kim's generous offer will not be passed up by too many of us I'm sure. I for one will be jumping a Vigil very soon. Any of the instructors who haven't heard can PM me and I'll be happy to fill you in on the details. THANK YOU KIM.

That Alti was supposed to be my going away present... the least you could do is wash the shirt and give it to me

Well the GOOD news for sharky and I is the Velocity Sports has decided to replace infinity rigs lost by instructors at NO COST

If it wasn't then I'd be making them and getting the money. Thing is you don't need to make a new audible. What you need to do is to figure out how to add an additional piece to existing audibles and make it an aftermarket upgrade. HMMM I know a couple of inventors

Do you know something I don't? Erin shot me a note.

Are you all going to have bail out bottles? From 22K it's going to take you a while to get where the air is pretty breathable. No, I'm not a wingsuit flier, I just lurk here, and this is a safety question not a condemnation.

It's either this or porn... I figure this is more productive and less destructive.

I love that idea lew. Limited edition... never to be re-made. Get them now while their hot... well maybe not the best wording We can sell them or auction them off at the Elsinore Extreame AirSports/Instructors Rock Boogie. Which will feature, 1.Jump through the three ring release dives (simulated with a hoop, of course) 2. Jumps with burned but still usable jumpsuits. 3. Intentional cutaway rigs to see how messed up those canopies really are. 4. Raffle off Ash Dives to mourn the passing of the school Any other ideas?

No F'n Way WAY WAY To cool, and far beyond what I would have expected from ANY manufacturer. That is so amazing and cool. Right now I'm online looking at what precision has to offer. I lost my stuff, wasn't precision, but probably will be this time around.

I think it would be the FIRST ash dive done with 20+ trash bags of ashes

Have some fun and make you own noise

Thanks for lunch. Good thing there wasn't any gear for you to jump. I think I would have been worthless to help you after all that beer. I had to sit around at the DZ for a couple of hours before I could safely drive home!!!

Michele: At this point, I think all of the instructors have some sort of gear to jump. I can't really believe it, but after the staff meeting Betsy called us to the office and there were rigs there and she was assigning them out for everyone. I'm speachless really. It will be funny however watching Marie practice accuracy with that sabre 2 150. What's funny is that I was worried because it looked like everything was 135 or smaller. Turns out I'm golden with a 170 to jump.

Thanks so much for everyone's support on this. It just sucked last night being helpless. I truly can't believe the support that is comming in. Money, offers to loan gear and equipment, unreal... really. Rarely in my life have I seen it like this, and I'm humbled. Thank you to everyone, especially our students.

The tunnel is a VERY small space. It tends to magnify your weaknesses A LOT. We (instructors) took a trip over to perris to experience theirs right after it was open. I felt like I was on AFF 1... as a STUDENT Don't get too frustrated. The tunnel is fixing things you don't know about from freefall. When your in group skydives everyone is adjusting constantly without knowing it. I now have about 45 min of tunnel time and I can tell a difference in my skills when I'm jumping in real air. Get coaching. Flying in the tunnel by yourself almost isn't worth it. Don't overestimate your current skills, and don't be afraid to look foolish either. Our chief instructor with over 10,000 jumps looked pretty funny sliding around in there for the first few min.

oops...I took my hook knife on board the plane...twice.

I would prefer double action pistols because they are simpler and less likely to accidently be fired, but I agree with your solution. Fact is, that if that were the case on Sept 11th we wouldn't have had more than one plane crash into the towers if even that one. Sure a few innocents on the plane would have died, but they could be counted as heros, and not like the poor souls who simply died in the towers without having a chance to fight back. -
The points that are required aren't on the website, but they have been posted (at the DZ). Probably some LO will be putting together a pickup team, so come on out and have a good time.

Not too late to put on the shoe goo girl. As far as the goggle and face shield cleaning goes, I tend to look at it differently than an expensive pair of sunglasses. On expensive goggles that are treated you should use microfibre cloth and NO cleaning solution. On the cheapos and the face shield use windex and paper towels. One thing that worked real well on my face shield was lemon pledge. Smells nice too. Just plan on replacing that thing once a year and you'll be happier for it.

you're not quite the average student their aubrey How many students you know with an MC1 that aren't jumping combat gear at YUMA

One more thing. Their ordering system is the best, just call them up and tell them what speed you want to fly and your dimensions. They do the rest.
