  1. Yeah, I miss TX DZs too. Although I have to give a shout out here to Elsinore. Between Mikey and Betsy (both from TX) they have managed to keep some semblance of the tradition alive. I even participated in one earlier this year. It wasn't quite like being at home though... something like 40 jumps and a two cessna formation load! No wonder TX produces some great skydivers
  2. Couldn't find the ad in parachutists. Anyone know who I'm talking about and can direct me?
  3. Holy S**** That was soooo funny I just laughed out loud.. VERY loud. My Marines just stuck their head in my office to see what was going on.
  4. You know... bad things happen when it sleeps more than two. The only time I've stayed... I think was the fire
  5. Maybe I need to talk with Todd about putting something official together for the DZ. Maybe a couple of different teams and even 10 way [Rich's Brain starts to smoke a little..]

    I wish...

I wish PD would give you some info on your canopy. Recieved order Order in Bin......... Canopy colors changed by customer Order at bottom of Bin..... No seriously, only having some fun at their expense. Please don't put my canopy at the bottom of the pile just bummed about my wait time (March 19)
  8. OK guys. I'm back in March... sometime mid to late. I'm sick of not doing 4 way. Yes, I know the season is already started... yes I know that SSM is closer... NO I DON'T CARE. Seriously, I'm looking at one training weekend a month (Ok so I'm not trying to become a real pro) plus whatever TSL meets, just looking to have a team that wants to train and compete before this gets too booring
  9. Zenister... totally off topic here, but I thought your sig was interesting. Reminded me of something I learned in HS though. A mind that is too open catches nothing.
  10. Little windy last sunday, but we were still able to put students up most of the day. Winds were more or less constant as well. So, not a lot of drive in the canopy, but not much turbulence either.
  11. Wait a minute... "Daddy wasn't head of the cia until... 80 something" Bush's record is clear. As a matter of record. I am currently serving in the military, started as reserves, commissioned active duty. I don't think we need a draft. I don't want to see a draft. 1. That best part about America is that you aren't required to serve. Those that do serve do so because they want to. Best part... name another country that gives as much as the USA...mostly volunteers. 2. I serve so that my family doesn't have to. If someone comes to arrest my daughter (don't have one yet, but will) or arrest my wife because they refuse to serve... Well let me put it on the record. They better come with lots of guns. I'm a little conservative and traditional when it comes to roles in society I guess, but I'm firm in my conviction that serving America should be voluntary.
  12. MINES HERE TOO!!!!! IT ROCKS MORE THAN ANYONES! SEE it here Rich's Rig
  13. WE don't suck either Beutiful weather and you can see Catalina from the plane today. Plenty of people here for the instructor benefit. See you guys in a couple of weeks when I come back to visit. Then home in March baby!
  14. Allright soldier boys... you don't have to get mean and nasty just because the CINC is calling us back to do the work you boys can't seem to finish Hey guys: I was there when Col Dowdy was relieved. Stuff happens. I can tell you it had nothing to do with him breaking any kind of laws of war. I can also tell you that Joe Dowdy can't be called a coward by any man. By the way. The army crack was just that... a crack. The 82nd is doing great things, and I think they have set the stage well for us to come in and finish things up during transition from povisional authority to Iraqi elections. At least that's what they told me to say if I was asked by a reporter
  15. And people say there is no such thing as dragons

  20. Why Scary? Unless of course the media company asking is Al Jazeera
  21. No problem flying with ya. Look me up this weekend.
  22. Bingo Duece. The shooter is the primary safety. are you sure you meant 25lb trigger pull????
  23. Not the weapon, it's the shooter. I've got to go with what is combat tested and proved by our boys. That would be a single action 45 based off of the 1911 frame and slide. Current units that I respect that are using some form of this weapon. Delta, Force Recon, FBI HRT. I know plenty of operators that prefer it for contract work as well. There are some OUTSTANDING and proven weapons from other manufactures etc. My personal opinion on the popularity of Glocks is this. It's made for dummies. No safety. Pull the trigger it fires, don't pull the trigger it doesn't fire. This makes it a very nice transition from wheel gun for most Police departments. The simplicity is also good for those who don't choose to train as much as they should. H&K, Sig, both make great weapons. I never said other weapons weren't adequate or used by some very reputable organizations. Rich now puts on flame suit because I know it's comming.
