The concept of the movie isnt what gets me, afterall it is a movie..You can make anything happen in a movie....what gets me is that it is SOOOOO hard to understand and follow!!! I have never been so freakin confused in my life...

yeah thats another thing...what was with the flying crap? That was really stupid... On another note...I heard that one of the brothers who made the movie is leaving his wife and getting a sex change??? Heard this from a coworker who is totally into the movie so I kinda believe em...

I think this is easier said then done. Sounds like a good deal for the person who cant have sex but what about the other person in the relationship who can? My bet is sooner or later they would kick you to the curb or eventually cheat on your ass....

You will eventually end up driving your friends, family, coworkers, and everyone else that doesnt jump crazy....you will eventually use skydiving as an icebreaker to pick up chicks in a bar, you will talk about it to complete strangers...it will consume you.

almost 250 jumps and I still suffer from gear fear every now and then. I get paranoid my leg straps are gonna give away and I am gonna plummet to the ground...my god, I couldnt imagine being under canopy at 14K or so...bet it would be cool as long as it was one of those "no gear fear" days...

you are talking about 2 totally different types of gear here...do lots and lots of research..considering you are "new" to this, that kind of question can make alot of people nervous...

all depends on the pilot..i've ridden down where i felt like we were taking the express elevator down to the ground and i've ridden down where it was just as smooth as the ride up....all depends on the pilot..

well the majority seems to think it is best to wait.....arrghhhh that means no jumps out of the casa while its doing 170mph passes....but then again there is always another day

i think the biggest question here is how much i want to listen to common sense?????I will admit it is probably the best thing to do at the end of the day....arrgghhhh

Ok, I have a decision to make, let me know what you think....I totalled my motorcycle July4th, had surgery July 14th. Pretty much destroyed every single ligament in my right knee. Doc says wait 6 months before jumping, that gives me 3 more months. My questions is...I normally jump a sabre 170, I am thinking if I rent a student rig and jump a monster 240 or 288 or whatever I can guarantee myself a soft slow landing...worth the risk? Anyone ever upsize while dealing with an injury? I want to do anything to get back in the air, but the knee still has a ways to go....cant even walk fast on it, let alone jog or run out a landing...arghhhhh

You can jump from a helicopter with an A license cause you wont be landing out...get the same still air rush that you get from a balloon and you will generally get up to 5K....trust me, it is awesome!

I have wondered this same thing...ran into an old buddy of mine a couple of weeks ago and found out he has his own plane, a piper (could be interesting jumping out of that). Would love to jump into my neighborhood just for the hell of it.....would he lose his pilot license? how long would my ass sit in jail for? what are the chances of getting away with it??? My buddy did say he wouldnt be to excited about opening up the door up so high but i think that sounds like a personal problem to me!!!

Dont know if I have just overlooked it or not but yesterday there was a thread going with the title "Thanks for the fish......." from a very very depressed person who seemed like he was gonna end it and the thread was his good bye. Cant find the thread...anyone hear from the guy or know what happened to the thread???

I think alot of you are missing what this is saying. It is not saying that YOU PERSONALLY can go 20,000 jumps without dying, it is saying that every 20,000 jumps all across the us or world or whatever, someone dies. In otherwords, there could have been 19,999 safe jumps and that next jump you make will statistically increase your odds of dying. I dont buy into it, but thats what it is saying.

I am struggling with the same issue..I destroyed my knee on July 4th in a motorcycle accident, had surgery and was on crutches for 2+ months. Doc and PT says wait 6 months before jumping....tough tough call, but I am starting to think it may be better to be safe than sorry...with that said I will probably wait 4-5 months
