  1. Hey dude, the last post I found was like 4 months ago and I was wondering if there were any other opinions since then or stuff that I just didn't see. It did sound like you were trying to bag on me, but I won't go there. We can all learn a lot from one another if we actually listen. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  2. I was just wondering what some other people are using for skydive video music. I've been using some of the same stuff over and over and wondered what some other songs might be. Appreciate everyone's input. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  3. Okay, I realize this issue has been beat to death in the past and that everyone has their own personal favorites, but I was wondering what some of the most popular (or personal favorite) skydive video songs are now. Seems like music changes as much as the winds, but I'd love to hear everyone's input. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  4. Squeak, take a look at Bonehead's Boomerang. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  5. I'm sure that a couple stitches or a rubber band will solve your problems. If all else fails, give the folks at Bonehead a call. They are awesome with their cusomer service. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  6. A little more info would be nice. How much do you weigh? I personally LOVE my spectre. It gives me as much thrill as I want, but still acts docile enough to be nice and smooth. If you are just finishing up AFF, you might want to concentrate on learning more about jumping, and wait on the canopy. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  7. For those of you who haven't heard, Bonehead has come out with a new line of helmets in addition to their already popular line. The new Gunner has gotta be the lightest, most comfortable freeflying helmet I have ever seen or worn. I literally forgot it was on. It comes in an awesome matte black finish that looks totally wicked. Also, the new Boomerang is a hybrid helmet that can be used for RW or freeflying and the peripheral vision is exceptional. Anyone interested can check out the Bonehead website (www.boneheadcomposites.com) or drop me a line for more info. When you see them, you will want one!! ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  8. Mark, I'm a Bonehead dealer, so I am a little biased, but I have jumped both helmets you wrote about. Have you seen the new Boomerang from Bonehead? I think it blows both the Z-1 and the Factory Diver WAY out of the water. Might be something you want to look into. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  9. Gunner lists for $225 and worth every cent. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  10. From my experience, I would tell you that it will be nearly impossible for you to jump from military aircraft. There have been a few special circumstances where it HAS happened, but they are few and far between. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  11. I don't know how many people out there have seen the new Bonehead Gunner helmet, but if you haven't, you might wanna put it on your list for Santa. The thing is so light and comfortable that I forgot that I was even wearing it. Most of my jumps are in a camera helmet, so anything else is light, but this Gunner is awesome. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  12. There are quite a few of us who wear jumpsuits when we aren't wearing our tree suits. I'm USMC and I skydive as well as being a HALO Jumpmaster. Military and civilian jumping is entirely different. Jumping HALO is simply a way of getting to work, skydiving is a way to relax after leaving work. Hahaha. Good luck with your research. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  13. They sure do make one. I just got one myself. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  14. I fly a Flat-top PRO and love it! Some people thought it was too big to freefly with, but I havent had any problems. I love the fit, and the release system is awesome as well. It was a little steep on price, but worth every friggin cent!!!!! There is also a new helmet that Bonehead has out called the Flat Top Narrow. It's lighter, cheaper and less bulky than the PRO, and it might be something you would like to look into. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  15. Hey man, I'm no expert, I only have about 400 camera jumps and 950 or so total under my belt and I am still a VERY small fish in a huge pond of experience. However, just to throw my two cents worth in, I think you should probably hold off a while. Don't quote me, but I think USPA says you have to hold a "D" license anyways. Although tons of people do it with lower licenses, there are usually reasons behind the USPA setting certain standards. With only 60 jumps under your belt, I think you should be trying to get into all the different genres of skydiving, and when you have a pretty firm grip on them, then try strapping the cameras to your head. The big thing is that you need to be very comfortable in the air, with your abilities and with emergency procedures, because camera flying is a lot more than wearing a goofy helmet and getting your lift paid. Besides, there aren't gonna be a whole lot of people who are really comfortable with having a camera flier with so few jumps anyways. Wait it out, you will be a better camera flier in the future for holding off. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  16. Many people are frightened by the Flat Top Pro's pricetag, but I think it's worth every cent. Comparing it with other helmets, I found that it's a very stable platform which can hold a variety of camera systems and accessories. Additionally, the fit is remarkable after a short break in period. The customer service with Bonehead is remarkable, they actually care about their customers!!! The new helmet release system is awesome, and they can do custom paint if you choose. Well worth the money, you get what you pay for!!!

  18. I'm about 260 out the door and I agree with a lot of the other postings out here. Quade brings up a good point that maybe your wings arent tight enough and I would definitely look at that. Additionally, the prevalent advice of practice, practice, practice is probably the best so far. As for my personal technique, I break it down oldschool style when I am faced with your challenge and I "hug the beachball" or do the modified "pushup" as well. While it may or may not work for you, the only way you will find out is to keep trying. Best of luck! ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  19. Compressed T-10 through L-2 and shattered L-1. Had the cool and groovy Ninja Turtle shell body cast and all that cool stuff. The only ting I could say is don't rush it. Doc told me that I was lucky that I didnt get paralyzed and that I should forget about jumping. I couldnt believe the dude went to school for all those years and could say something so stupid. hahaha. Regardless, don't be in too much of a rush bro. Crawl, walk, run, swoop. It takes time but it will work out. As for what the future holds, its pretty much up to you. Take it easy and fly conservatively, and you probably have a good 10-20,000 jumps left in you. Try to get all crazy and rush the healing process and your ass could end up in a wheelchair. You make the choice. Now sit down, relax and watch some jumping videos! ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  20. Well, at this point in your skydiving career, the last thing on your mind shouuld be downsizing. Fly the rigs they are teaching you on and learn how to fly and land them. With experience, you will be ready to downsize soon enough. Don't get drawn into that superswoop/hookturn mentality now. Those jumpers you see swooping in and doing the "cool stuff" probably have quite a few hundred jumps at least and would probably tell you the same. Too many people go too small too fast and end up with bones that are too broken. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  21. Congrats on your first jump! I hope its the first of many thousand safe jumps in your future! ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***

  23. I went through the same BS when I bought my new Spectre and eventually said to hellwith it and got one off the shelf. No waiting times, I had it in something like two days and I love it. It may sound weird, but a buddy of mine has an all blackberry canopy with one offset lime green and it looks awesome. A word of advice, dont get white! It gets too dirty and eventually looks like crap. You can never go wrong with the neon colors, they look awesome in the sky!! ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
  24. I am new to the forum and just wanted to say howdy! Looks like this is THE place to be for all the best "tricks of the trade." I look forward to all the new info. ***"A smart person can act dumb, but a dumb person can't act smart"***
