As a newbie, please be patient with my question. In AFF1 I learned which risers to use for steering if two canopies are attached (side by side or front and back); I'm sure they told us this, but I'm not 100% clear. If you find yourself in this situation you can steer the landing pattern, but since there is no way to flare, you are forced to take a hard landing? Does having two canopies out slow you down more than one? LOL. Thanks for all of the good advice guys. At least I know I'm normal, well, relatively speaking as far as skydiving is concerned. It makes a lot of sense: If I wasn't scared I would be endangering myself and those around me. The fear factor keeps me on my toes and not to mention kicks in the afterbuzz.

After my first tandem five weeks ago, I completed level one last Monday and will do two on Saturday. I felt pretty good about level one, and I'm excited about two, yet, I'm feeling simultaneously scared, dreaming a lot about it, etc. I'm feeling like, okay, jumping once or twice is one thing, but to keep it going is like tempting fate. Regardless, the desire to go is stronger! Has this mixed up fear been a similar experience for others? I'm sure it will subside with more jumps, but I'd like to know I'm not alone. Cool. I just did level one last Monday and two will be on Saturday. In fact, I will be taking my second flight in a small plane to the Dropzone. Yikes, is this really tempting fate?? I'm a little nervous about two, but still I can't wait, and like you I'm spending money I don't have to skydive. How could you not? Happy flying to you.

Hey Steve, I just did AFF 1 on Monday and my first tandem a month before that over at Perris Valley. Everyone there was really cool and friendly. You won't chicken out! After knowing what to expect from the tandem you'll be ready to move on. I didn't smile at the camera as much cos I was more concerned with remembering what to do... and I remembered mostly everything... except I forgot to look at the second instructor completely. OMG! My landing was a little off target and... a little dirty, but safe and happy. The beer after the long day was well deserved! I can't wait to go again!

Hello everyone. I jumped tandem for the first time recently... and loved it. I plan on doing my AFF Level One jump very soon and would like to finish out the skydiving school. Skydiving has me more excited that almost anything ever has in my life. It's so cool!
