  1. They have not endured any oppression for being men... so, WHAT GIVES?? http://scholarships.berkeley.edu/scholdb/Action.Lasso?-database=Scholarships&-layout=Web%20Search&-response=detail.lasso&-recordID=33271&-search -A
  2. OMG, that was my thought EXACTLY!! And, personally, I find that the selection at Walgreens is just fine. We found several brands of non-lube, and non-latex condoms... there had to be 20 different condom types for sale. Maybe you just life in the fuckin' boonies! -A
  3. Yes, the person works in Financial Aid. Yes, I have a scholarship from the school for 12k, and I already have the maximum federal loans (10k). I still need about 3000 more to cover the remainder of tuition, plus money for living on. I will check those links. Thank you very much for your help! I will look for deferment for sure! -A
  4. Hi, there! Thanks for the help. It seems that the free report isn't available until June 1st here in Florida, is it worth it to pay the $9.50 for an Equifax report? How important is it that I have this report before getting a loan, and why? The place I replied to did not mention deferred, but asked if you wanted to pay interest only or interest + principal while in school, and I selected int only. I am assuming that is the same thing as deferring it? The school has alloted 12500$ for me to go get a signature loan. I am not sure I have more specific questions, except maybe where you recommend I apply to get a good rate. Any other tips are appreciated! Thank you:) Angela.
  5. Absent any scientific support of your position, what other 'annoying' activities would you like our government to ban? Would you ban/burn books because you heard they contain thoughts you disagree with.? I mean, how annoying, right!? *** Wow, you ARE an extremist, aren't you? Look, I am not lacking scientific evidence that second hand smoke is bad. It is a hazzard to ones health to breathe that shit in, just like we all know that the fumes that are emitted from cars are unhealthy for us and the environment, and that power plant emissions need to be controlled. I am not proposing that we ban smoking, just like I don't care if someone chooses to commit suicide. Personal choice. But, I don't feel that I should have to stay home to avoid being stuck with some littering/ air polluting suicidal jerk who doesn't have the common courtesy to leave crowded spaces to kill himself. I don't think this is an unreasonable request. Kill yourself, not me. And, fwiw, I think that there should be a fuel limit set on what people can buy per week for their cars.. public transport should be beefed up enough that we don't all need to drive our own cars! I can't wait to move to SF and sell my car! And, I think that the fact that they have done away with emissions standards in Florida because of those who rig vehicles to pass is a joke. There are a lot of things that I think should be regulated in this society, because unfortunately many/most people lack common sense! Bottom line: There are a lot of things I find annoying, people who wear too much perfume, people who drive vehicles just so they can look cool, religious fanatics... but I don't petition to ban these people. Second-hand smoke, otoh, is hazzardous and it has been proven that it causes a myriad of diseases. Just because my autopsy report won't attribute my death to every smoker i've ever had to sit next to, stand next to, walk near, etc... doesn't mean they aren't contributers. You say I have no scientific evidence that these encounters are harmful to my health, but there is more proof that way than the converse. I don't see anyone out there trying to prove that cigarette smoke, first and second hand, is not harmful to ones health. At this point I have nothing additional to add, as I think we have both repeated ourselves a number of times. Believe what you want to believe. -A
  6. Hi, I am short a bit of funding and need to find about 12000 in loan money for living expenses and such while i'm in school. I am currently employed, but will be quitting in July. As it stands, I think I have good credit and I make a decent salary, so I thought it might be easy to find a loan. I was just pre-approved for some edamerica loan and it is seemingly based on the fact that I have stable employment/income. Here's the thing, they are sending me an application/borrower's note and will ask me to attach proof of employment AND registration. On June 9th I will be officially registered and I plan to leave my job on July 1st. So, in June I could send them valid documentation, but i'm wondering if they disperse on the loan and I quit my job, can they rescind at that point? Help, I don't want to get in trouble for misrepresentation of ability to pay, what are the legalities of this situation? Please noone reply and say that I should go to a school that costs less, or some shit like that. I've made up my mind, this question is not about whether I should borrow money, it is about the technicalities of borrowing money. Thanks! Angela.
  7. When i'm walking on the street and many around me are smoking, i'm breathing that shit in. And, here in South Florida, where the air is normally very heavy with humidity, it doesn't dissipate quickly. I'll try one last time. Using your situation, is this a health hazzard?? Ok, let me dumb down my answer a little bit... in my opinion, YES, it is. Breathing smoke in is unhealthy. End of story. -A
  8. OF COURSE it ISN'T FREE! It's called a pyramid. -A
  9. Yeah, I think my size 9 qualifies... that's pretty funny. I told my boyfriend that and he mentioned that small feet would seem unstable, so hell, I guess i'm lucky, HA! Didn't know and don't really care since I hate perfume and don't know why anyone would want to be a truck driver. Wow, didn't know that! :( -A
  10. When i'm walking on the street and many around me are smoking, i'm breathing that shit in. And, here in South Florida, where the air is normally very heavy with humidity, it doesn't dissipate quickly. Do you really think that "Smoking is bad for your health" is a lie? Are you really telling me that you think that it is all bad science, and that you don't feel that this shit is bad for our health? You have GOT to be kidding me, right? -A
  11. This does hurt, but it is very brief. Worth it depends on the individual. The initial pain is not that bad, but it takes a while to heal and you need to move it around a lot, keep it from getting infected, etc. Salt baths help. Healing times vary, approx 6 months. --Apparently they vary greatly, many in this thread have noted "days", but this was not my experience. My belly button also took months to heal. Maybe my body rejects piercings more than the average person??-- I eventually removed mine, not sure why, just got sick of it after a while and forgot what it was like not to have it. They are fun to play with and I'd consider doing it again, but not sure i'm ready for the maintenance right now.. like I said, takes a while to heal. fwiw, I wouldn't put anything down there that costed $1.99, get a ring that is made for the area and is ss or the like. -A
  12. Agreed with bold. I grew up in a smoking household. I was a sickly child: ear infections, colds, nosebleeds, the list goes on. I wish that children weren't victims of their parents stupidity but it happens every day. If smokers as a group would be more mindful of those around them there wouldn't need to be any laws on smoking because they wouldn't smoke in restaurants, bars, next to people on park benches, in busy places, inside their homes where they house non-smokers... -A
  13. http://www.bchealthguide.org/healthfiles/hfile30.stm No distortion, Jen. Second-hand smoke IS bad for you. If you don't like my view, fine, argue your point. Why should I have to breathe smoke in when i'm in public places? But, don't try to play it off as if this shit is not a health hazzard. -A
  14. Agreed. I also used to smoke. I don't do so any longer. When I smoked it didn't bother me to be around smoke, of course, and I was a little upset when smoking was taken out of certain bars, etc, here in Florida. But, I got used to it, and came to appreciate the way things didn't smell anymore. I eventually quit smoking and am not longer tolerant of it. I would like to enjoy a meal and a beer without breathing in someone's second hand smoke. In short, i'm FOR the ban. . . everywhere. Smoke at home or in designated areas. Me, my family, my friends, other people and their children do not deserve to be forced to breathe that crap in while walking in the park, down the street, etc, either. Not to mention cigarette butts that are thrown everywhere, I think people should be fined. -A
  15. Carmen Electra is really NOT THAT HOT! Maybe she's just not my type... regardless, I would not cheat on my SIGNIFIGANT other... and i'll be damned if he's allowed any sort of "list"! Call me a stingy bitch, but I DO NOT SHARE! -A
  16. People are going to ward you against that... but, in reality, we all feel the same way otherwise we'd all have 190 reserves. You should AT LEAST feel comfortable flying the reserve. If you haven't flown a main that size, you probably should not buy a reserve that size. I am being a hypocrite here, tho, so i'll shut up now. But, i'll close with saying you can call PD for a demo 143. Fly it, see what you think. Oh, and I bought my first reserve used (pd126) and it worked fine for me. I sold it with my old rig not long back. I see no problems buying a used reserve, but DO have it inspected. -A
  17. Don't know. It's just a chemistry thing. You either have the chemistry with a guy, or you don't, imo. No amount of muscles, etc, can fix a lack of chemistry. -A
  18. Wow!! Right on! Did you get in? -A
  19. I was one point from an A in a calculus class once... but no amount of math or bribe could've gotten me that A... I think I was probably the teachers most hated student.. But, that is OK because I took my B, and have made sure to warn students away from his lazy multiple choice calculus class. I bothered a teacher for a grade change once, though. I had a B in Physics, and i'm sure that is what I deserved... but I asked the teacher that if I had a B I would appreciate going over what caused said B (papers, tests, etc, that we never got back!) And, teacher insisted that he gave me a B based on a grade he felt I deserved but that he would change it to an A if I really felt I deserved one. So, I said, yea, change it. This was very typical of his lackadaisical teaching methods. I don't think i'd bother with that anymore, tho. A 'B' is really not a bad grade, and sometimes you just have to accept it when you don't get what you wanted. I mean, hell, A's are fought for and earned and I've come to the conclusion that it is really not quite fair for them to be given out when others worked their asses off for them. I worked my ass off in Orgo chem to find out that other not-so-bright or not-so-interested students got to slide by with A's as well. Where is the incentive if you can just slack and still get an A? Glad you got your grade, tho... we've all been there. -A
  20. CONGRADS!! Bonuses rock! Not that i've gotten many.. I do remember one about 6 years ago... taxed of course -A
  21. Yeah, I was joking about N. Mexico previously. Have you ever made it to Big Bend before? It would be worth a couple of days excusion if she could do it, since she'll be going by pretty close from I-10 (close in a TX sort of way). haha!! That's funny (and scary)! I am not sure we're up for any long detours, but that may change, who knows. I'm thinking a couple dz detours and maybe a couple of neat sites that aren't far off the hwy might be cool:) Man, all this driving makes me think about cushioning on my car seat. I hate to buy a car cushion, but I just know my bum is bound to get sore from all this driving. Maybe i'll sit on my pillow -A
  22. Hi, Lisa! This is so exciting... I didn't realize you were in the area, too. I can't believe i'm getting a party for moving:D That is so cool! You can coordinate with Shannon... just don't feed me any tequila My phone isn't great for text messaging... and, it isn't sprint, it's crap-ass t-mobile But, best part is that my contract is up, so I can get a different phone/provider if I want to. . . Just having a hard time signing another contract. Thanks for the tips. I'm a speed demon, so i'll just ride behind Rory so my lead foot doesn't fall to the floor. Angela.
  23. Thanks, Guys. I will be sure to keep aware of gas levels when we get to W. TX. Well, i've already got the spanish cds from a long while ago, so i'll try them out. They did come with a book, but it is like a 6 cd set, so there's gotta be something good on there I'm definitely going to look into books on cd. I'll check what Cracker Barrel has then i'll order some online if I don't find a great selection... the library is another idea, I might want to go that route. :) -A
  24. I have a chunky booty I agree, boobies ARE more fun to play with! But, I like smaller boobies better than larger ones (small B to small C.) A matter of personal preference I suppose. Maybe it's cuz mine are smaller and I am used to playing with them -A
