  1. Good choice. Have had my Wings W3 EXT for 7 years now, about 100 jumps/year from dust to grass and it still looks very good. As you can see from this thread alrady there is a lot of potential in the AAD decision, but it has been debated at length in this forum, so if you want to know why just stick to the forum rules and do a SEARCH. The canopy colors are good to be LIME green not normal green, as that might make your canopy a bit harder to see from above in temperate (lush green landscape) areas. I've laready switched out a dark blue canopy for a red/white striped one because i didn't like people getting too close and later telling me they hadn't seen my canopy. I will always choose my canopy colors for visibility rather than make them fit my rig. After all they are out for only 2-5 minutes and then need to be seen, not fashion-judged. To learn about your gear is always a good idea, so when you get it RTM and ask your rigger about details you are unsure about. Too many people don't fully understand their gear. 2. I had my Wings EXT made for a 120 and even gave Sunrise Rigging the canopy pack volume in cubic inches. And that 120 fits perfectly, even though a bit tight. 4. First flight March '09, officially open since April. Really powerfull, 2000 hp, one entry. Coolest thing about it: AIRLOCK. Enter or exit the antechamber whenever you please. Just sharing 2 minutes of a 30 minute rotation? No need to be sitting in there for 28 minutes! No metal windowframes, 40mm strong glass walls on the spectator side... Its also really quiet, you can stand next to the glass and talk normally while the guys inside are doing their magic as in the video. Biggest thing I did in there was a 10way, but they've done more i think. Too bad it's booked almost completely solid until April, during the weekends at least... But give them a call if you want to fly, they will make things possible. Will be there again in 36 hours, Xmas Boogieeee! The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. 5. Second that. However I'm afraid it's somewhat unlikely since it requires more administrative work and less revenue (since the mobile sites don't pull ads IIRC). 8. Using the same money, tunnel coaching will get you about 4 times as much coached flying time. However, as others have said, you will NOT start the tunnel in a sit. Once you show reliable 6 axis control (Rotation and Translation along all 3 axises) you will move on to back flying (recovery position from a sit), and from there to sit. I started tunnel flying regularly 2 yrs ago to finally get my headdown down and the difference in my sitflying is dramatic. I did around 750 jumps, 500 of which mostly sitflying, and actually had a pretty good sit (even by tunnel standard). But there were two or three minor old habits to break to advance beyond basic sit, and they were hard to iron out in the tunnel. However now, I can do many things in sit, but some are still missing (like a double front dock ie.). They say it is easy to learn to sit, but hard to master, the other way around for headdown. And to me that is true. Dont be scared of by ppl mentioning getting to a sit can take hours, I have seen people doing the sit walking exercises in the tunnel after 30 minutes total for belly/backflying. One final advice though: Go to a tunnel that has lots of power. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... 9. That is just what you did with me on a coach jump a looong time ago (Kamloops 2K4) and I must say from personal experience; that was the best coach jump i ever had. I have since relayed that technique/attitude to people when they came to ask me about advice for their flying, with positive feedback. Don't rush it, be able to get in your comfort zone and start over. Oh, and to the OP: There are tunnel camps with cheaper time and coaching, check out www.bodyflyers.de and get in contact with Markus Schwarz, or the tunnel staff can coach you too. But camps are more fun! The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Not every Swooper hooks & not every Hooker swoops ...

  11. Good questions to ask the manufacturer... The EXT is designed to have a longer (rather than squareish) shape for the containers, to accomodate a larger reserve/smaller main combo. The W1 etc. usually refers to the harness sizing IIRC. So if you have a certain body type and measurements, you will get a W2 (for example), and if your canopy choice was a 170 Main and a 190 Reserve it would be an EXT, if a 170 Main and 150 Reserve it would probably NOT be an EXT. I have a Rig with a 120 Main and 135 Reserve, it's a W3 EXT. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... 12. I dont have the answer, but Sunrise Rigging surely will be able to tell you the exact packing volume of the reserve (and main) container. 13. Looks to me like the camera suffers massively from what is called "rolling shutter". Might just be the web-encoded video, but there is a lot of jitter in the picture at every time. That would be unfortunate, as I was looking at the Contour as a small secondary cam for unusual angles... The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. Freefly suit

Second vote for Freakin' Suits. I ordered from Europe, we have Sonic, Boogieman and Matter as the big players here, but none of them would do the design I wanted which was pretty much the sonic design, only with tie-dye in the stripes*. They would charge around 450/500 EUR for the suit with basic pockets etc. Sonic refused to make it because "we don't do tie-dye, it's an american thing and we don't like this style." Well, they didn't like my business, so i took it to Freak'n'Suits. I was happy with my first suit I got from Freak'n'Suits since 6 years ago, so I sent them a pic of my design and they made me a suit with a matching swoop pant for what was then around 320 EUR. Damn Customs added around 90 EUR so it came out the same, but I got the suit exactly as I wanted it. I asked for a specific stripe design and doubling up of fabric on arms and legs so I'd get more lift for the tunnel. (My old suit was single-layer supplex, nice and cool but a bit faster...) With this suit now I have the full range that I need and really really happy with it, as it's not one of the limited choice designs from one of the three european manufacturers. *see attached/ below: [inline Suit_wish1.jpg] The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. 17. My search only turned up results that were around 5 years old and i couldn't find a definite no-go post from the greenies. There were a number of people seconding the requests, but I haven't found any options (other than accoustic) in the email options to be notified of new mail. Hence, to give a better scope of demand, a poll for the email notification symbol (symbol or "n new" i dont care). I just left a mail about one classified unanswered for three days because of a missing notification. The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... 18. ah, damn right! However I just noticed ticket prices in Voss are up to par with german ones (or at least very close), and I didn't know there was a go vertical up there too. 19. Hej, I'm from Germany and met some nice swedish freeflyers at Airkix in january. I've been to Sweden like 20 years ago and would love to go back there; However, info on events seems to be on the respective DZs sites only. Is there any bigger boogie in scandinavia this summer? Or next? Which DZs are good for freeflyers to go to to find playmates? With the ticket prices significantly lower than in Germany, the trip would easily be worth it. And we can bring booze, is it still taxed so high? The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... 20. I'm currently looking at different helmets for a new camera setup, and am looking at the Tonfly because of the Zkullz system. I was just wondering about being able to switch the CX-100 box top or side. My idea was to check how the Zkulls box mount is attached to the box, and whether or not i could just fit another mount on the bottom of the side mount box. I'ts probably just screwed/bolted on with some padding on top, right? The top and side mounts would not interfere with the respective other mounts (but maybe a topmounted second cam), so there's no reason not to have two mounts/base plates on the video box. 22. I am wondering about two things here; 1. How does publishing that website help you in getting to a new rig (Which is what you want I presume?)? Why not just cancel the order after due time (6 months) and take your business elsewhere? 2. Why this thread didn't get locked because other than throwing bad karma balls around it doesnt do much for people interested in gear and rigging. I guess the intend of sharing a bad customer experience is a bit overdone on this one... The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... 23. My rig and fashionably matching jumpsuit are navy blue and red-on-yellow tie-dye, the canopy is navy top and bottom with tangerine (neon orange) ribs. One doesn't see the orange ribs unless coming head on. I'm usually jumping in continental temperate climate with some dark green in the background. Dark blue in front and dark green in the back don't make the canopy an easily visible thing, so i got a "red w/ two white cells" XF2 119. Visible against any background. Of course, the navy one looked nice waiting to be packed, but i don't jump in the desert/bright backdrop areas where a dark canopy is easier to be seen. 24. I voted YES because by chance, I bought an in-stock canopy perfectly matching my rig colors. I am now selling it because the canopy is hard to see in the environment I usually jump in and I had one or two closer calls where I had to avoid others who didn't see me. It's a Crossfire2 119 that has less than 100 jumps on it. (Just if anyone's interested). Get a canopy that helps other people see you. Your canopy is out only for 1-5 minutes and during that time it helps you more by being visible rather than fashionable and maybe hard to see. 25. If all else fails (like: no master rigger in the area), you can send your H/C to the respective manufacturer with your measurements and get a fitted harness onto that container at a price. I read somewhere around here it might be around 300 bucks, but you'd better check that out before. If there's a master rigger in your area, he can do it too (i think).
