If the lines are not tangled and slider is to stops it will open fine. I have a Sabre 190 and I turn the folded canopy 180 then roll it bag it then turn back 180 and stow the lines.works fine for me.POP

Howard,I receive Airshow Mag through the local airport and read the BATMAN article. There were some BS and incorrect dates in it for sure.I knew Red Grant and jumped with him at the 1958 Miami air races. He really could fly his wings quite well. I know Steve and Charlie made the first baton pass in the USA and I made the first in Floida 3/21/59 with Dick Shuford D-100 and first Double pass on 6/8/59 with Dick Shuford and Bill Elfers D-28.All from 7000'. There may have been some one else who beat us at it,who knows...........POP

Regarding ParaCommanders (PC's)
poppenhager replied to Usetawuz's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
Well Jerry,Guess I'm a wienie then...In 1955 I got tierd of getting the shit knocked out of me from thoughs loose pack openings (no sleeves here yet) and I remembered how the Army cured the problem by packing the canopy in a static lined d/bag so I made a bag and attached a pilot chute to it and the rest is history.Bet you have one on your square too!!!Pop -
Regarding ParaCommanders (PC's)
poppenhager replied to Usetawuz's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
I used RWPC's on students 1978/82 and still have a red w/white keyhole one that I jump 3 or 4 times a year.Standing landings most of the time. They are lighter and pack smaller than the other PC's but the MK1 short lined 36" was the best performer.............Pop -
Use a Dbag and put it in the way the Army does T-10's.Less opening shock and no retainer line.Tied direct to the crown lines.I have 5000 jumps on PC's like that.POP
-
Howard,We were already using 7TU's in 1962.I don't remember any LOPO double gores w/a single gore seperation however I did cut one like it in a 28'C8 and it was a KILLER!!! Pop
