Been there done that and so glad I did, things have not always gone smooth, but the risk and the adventure has been worth the rewards when they come. 2005 packed up my bags and headed to Fl for a TM Rating and then off to PA to work, $100 to my name and no regrets, ended up in NorCal and had one of the best 6 months of my life 2006 stacked onto my '05 trip i got the chance of a life time to work within the sport outside of the DZ, and I took it, and have not looked back, made some awesome friends and lost some great ones to. I'd have to disagree with it being a waste of money, the movie is great and well directed and edited. If you miss the irony across the entire story line, one should pay closer attention to the world around us and what has and continues to happen on a daily basis. The movies message is strong and deliberate (in my opinion). But like most things it's not everyones cup of tea, much like some movies are not mine, however tis one sure is ..... I recommend going to see it and appreciate it's message. On a side note: Being born in SA, it was great to see such a powerful movie rise up from there, after such triumphs as "Tsotsi" in 2005. The reality is that if any of us, even the weekend tandem pax, does not accept that if we survive the plane ride to altitude, then the 60sec once we leave the plane could be your last, then we have no place in this sport. I have lost good close and dear friends, but they all understood and accepted the risk, I have friends injured for life, and survivors. Each person that leave us due to this sport will be missed, and we should learn from them and from our own mistakes and situations and make the choice to either stay in the sport or walk away with good and sad memories. Search Craigslist there are alot of RV's up for grabs many from older folks who cannot make use of them and need to get rid of assets. A Class A is the way to go, I got a 32 Foot Gas RV for 45K, do some shopping and haggling, you'll find the one you will be happy with. Oh, and get a maintenance plan, these things are expensive to service and repair. DONT ever pay a dime for a discount certificate The person who is selling it paid nothing for the certificate, so it has no value other than for the person who uses it. I think it's a outrage to sell them to jumpers, the last time I won a certificate, I gave it to a much needed jumper who appreciated the gesture and got themselves new gear at a good price. DONT BUY IT, would be my suggestion. Much like Skyride if we stop buying them, people will soon stop selling them.
