I agree entirely with hparrish. No, I did not go to the event. However, I had a planned to be a significant part of it this year. Instead, my personal and business experience with the owner of this event is a real turn-off. The business takes advantage of a lot of people, both fun-jumper and dropzone owner. A lot of my friends who run a respectable dropzone business have been messed over by this guy. The lameness of the ownership of this event and poor business practice makes me hope that this boogie is on its final approach. Skyfest is an anchor tied to the leg of this sport instead of a boost in support of skydiving.

Nah. He really just doesn't jump anymore. Colon is in Zhills and seems to be chilling and taking it easy. Everything is cool with the whole thing. There were a few pylon races during the Easter Boogie. Just me and some visitors. It was cool. For a challenge like that, you really need a prize. Dare I say...a helmet or something.

Although, I doubt there will be any ramifications upon you considering the lack of order that we have in our free community. I do, however, feel compelled to one-up on you bro. If you are starting the Community College, the you will need applicants that have GRE's in order to start the system. So think of this as a compliment to your Freefly College. It's the Freefly GRE. It's butter. All you have to do is pass a 20-question, multiple choice test, about how to freefly. Then you receive a ticket to get into your college to work towards a coach license and to fly on all the cool dives. It's great. After this 20 question multiple choice test, anyone can fly like th pros and/or further your body flight education. Example of question #5 on the exam is... After boarding the aircraft on a 10-way headsdown and sitfly formation that is two points, do you: a) Close your eyes and secretly think about having sex while everyone else thinks you are dirt-diving in your brain b) Make sure you sit next to a team-member of Mandarin and talk about how excited you are to be on this jump with them c) Act like this is the thousandth time you've done this kind of thing, do a self-gear check, and only give the 'hi-sign' to people who extend it to you first d) Fart every three thousand feet, on the way up, and blame it on everyone you've ever seen in a picture of Parachutest magazine e) All of the above The conclusion is obvious!

It might be ok at Raeford, but Carolina Fest in South Carolina is supposed to have more freeflying going on; in case you have to choose amongst them.

Word(s) I got is that they would likely be no other tryouts on the east. However, they said 'possibly maybe' for another around early summer.

Where do you get to jump for $2.30? $14000 ÷ 23 (jump cost) = 608 jumps, not 6000. Also, $14000 ÷ $800 (tunnel hour) = 17.5 freefly hours 17.5 tunnel hours = 1200 jumps or so Hmmm...jumping is fun. But the tunnel sounds ok too, no?

These Wings and Micron systems work well. The Wings is slightly different from a PUD. It has the low profile of the PUD and works the same as a pilot chute. There are at least two pics of it on this page: http://www.skydivewings.com/index.php?page=our_products Micron manufactures three types of main parachute deployment: hand deploy throw out, pull out or ripcord. You may have your hand deploy pouch at the rear of leg (ROL not available with VGH harness) or at the bottom of container (BOC). All spandex hand deploy pouches are black. Did you just call yourself a 'good point freeflyer'? Please clear this up for me. What exactly is a bad point freeflyer? or a good point freeflyer? Is that different from someone who simply freeflys well? Like the old-school kind. Please enlighten us from the book of good freeflying.

Winner takes all. $10 entry fee. ...making it worth the while of the deserving title holder, after the flying. It also means a few rounds are expected.
