Actually, that's against the law here. I have a friend who got arrested for that. There was an alligator in the canal behind his and his neighbor's houses where a gator lived and pets kept disappearing. They made multiple calls to the authorities and couldn't get anyone to come out, so he took matters into his own hands and killed it. Well, one of the other neighbor's got wind of this and called the cops. He ended up having to do quite a few hours of Community Service. Actually, just about every suggestion so far is illegal here. I think the LEAST illegal is "kill it and grill it" but you first have to get a hunting license, win a lottery, and then find him during hunting season. By then he'll likely be 5 ft. and you can call the nuisance gator guys. We have one about this size in our pond and he don't bother nobody. He's even afraid of the cows. (But I certainly wouldn't try to pick him up.)

Before WW2, in my father's home town, there was a little lunch counter that was known for their great tasting burgers. After he returned from the war one of the first things he wanted to do was get a hamburger at "Jim's Lunch" but was dismayed to find that the place had been closed down. You wouldn't want to do that to the current system because in a lot of cases it would just get trapped in the wreckage. There is a system that is used by some military jets that is an auxiliary recorder to the main "black boxes." The auxiliary unit ejects out the tail when the aircraft systems determines impact is imminent. The unit floats. Airlines have been reluctant to install such a system due to costs. ELT goes off on impact. If it impacts the water, it may be submerged. If submerged it's not going to be able to successfully transmit it's location. The Flight Data Recorder does have a "pinger" on it. They'd have to send submersibles down to listen for and try to recover it. If it's deep enough water, that's going to be a tough assignment even for robots. This is probably a very naive question but has anyone ever thought of strapping water wings on these FDR's or other telemetry devices? Is that beyond 21st C. technological capabilities or is it a question of cost vs benefit or space limitations?

I'm assuming cats are interchangable with skydivers since load organising is frequently known as cat herding. Maybe so, but I don't think cats are safely interchangeable with canopies.

Lessee...... I've had 3 cutaways. The first one was because of careless packing. The 2nd was the result of sloppy packing and the 3rd was because of crappy packing. So, 3 for 3 from packing. (I packed all 3). I've had a couple of others that should have been chopped and given the same situations with the experience I now have I probably would. One was a blown center cell (landed it) and at least one was a veerrrrrrry long snivel (in the saddle just below 1k). Also there were a couple of rapidly spinning openings that cleared just as I was about to pull the handles. I'm sure these were caused by bad body position.

Colors and posture look like it could be a moc but higher res pics of the head could nail it down. Especially the dark band across the eye and the pupil. (|) = moc and (o) = water snake.

Hmmm....... Warped says that the fuse blows WHILE he's turning the motor over. Lights should be out at that time. Looking at the wiring diagram, it seems that the only way that fuse is involved when the keyswitch is in the "start" position is through the PTO circuit. Maybe that is a good place to start looking. Maybe it's getting 12v to the fuse through the clutch switch and PTO switch causing it to blow. ?

Specs show point gap as "N/A" so the "mags" are likely electronic using stator/reluctor type ignition system rather than a "real" magneto. Still, the diagram shows 2 separate "mags" so I still doubt both are bad at the same time and, as MikeForsythe said, one of the lockout switches could be the culprit for the spark problem.

If this is the correct wiring diagram the fuse has nothing to do with the spark. If these are truly magnetos they do not need 12v from the battery to operate and the key switch grounds the wire to the mags to shut the ignition off. If you can disconnect that wire from the mags you should get sparks if they are OK. Be sure the mags are not connected to any of the safety lock-out switches (seat, brakes, etc.) when you make this test. This will isolate the mags from the rest of the circuit. I doubt both are bad at the same time unless maybe the points are oxidized. So the spark problem is likely caused by one of the parts common to both mags. The fuse problem sounds like a seperate issue involving the starter circuit or lights or something that has to do with the battery. BTW! - DON'T DO THIS WITH THE PLUGS INSTALLED! If it does start it will run in whatever configuration you happen have the deck, blades, pto, drive gear, etc. whether you are on the mower or not. (Of course you are only doing this to troubleshoot the problem, not run the machine and everything will be hooked up back to normal when you're operating it.)

Take the opportunity to see (anything) on-Broadway if you get the chance. It's quite amazing. I've see Cats, Phantom, Spamalot, Into the Woods, and Les Mis all on broadway when we lived up north. From what I heard about the West Side Story remake is that they are doing it half in Spanish which sounds really cool (even though I don't speak Spanish). I've only seen the movie with Natalie Wood and Rita Moreno. The remake has a local girl (Karen Olivo, Lakeland, FL) playing the part of Moreno's character, Anita. I think she is a nominee for a Tony Award which has renewed local interest.

I've never had the opportunity to see a Broadway show but I would like to have seen "West Side Story". I understand that it's being re-made.

I was referring to the ones with the cloud-like names (Cloud, Strato-such&such, Cirrus, etc.). My reserve canopy is a Swift 5-cell which I have flown twice and made stand-up landings 1 and a half times (My 2nd landing on it was a stand-up for the split second after my feed hit the dirt until just before I planted my face in the same dirt. Actually I think I tripped on some cowsh*t.)
