  1. https://www.gruntworks11b.com/war-room/a-message-to-the-angry-leftists-from-an-american-infantryman/ "I know you don’t know me. I know you don’t even think about me and when you do, it’s probably not anything nice. I’m the evil hegemonically masculine patriarchal oppressor to you feminists. I’m the jackbooted statist thug to you dope smokin’ long-haired hippies. I’m “The Man” to you racial activists. I’m the idiot who joined the military because I “wasn’t smart enough” to go get a liberal arts degree like you know-it-all 20-year-old college dipshits; and for some reason you hate me for that. I’m that guy with the rifle who signed on the dotted line for $24K a year so that you budding Marxist fucksticks could have the freedom to complain about me and the manner in which I provide it. I have a little message for you...." ***the view expressed in article are not necessarily the views of Brenthutch***
  2. "Politics is the art of the possible" Otto Von Bismarck
  3. I'm not claiming I am right, I just don't understand the socio/political calculus. I'm not trying to be a jerk, I really don't get it. Why the seemingly futile kamikaze charges?
  4. I got off work and went to a bar I worked at when I was in college, with our head of security. I noticed a girl at the bar and told him "she is not the best looking girl in the bar, but she is the best looking girl in the bar to me". At the same time she told her friend, "see that guy in the suit? I'm going to marry him." Twenty years and two kids later and we are still going strong.
  5. They can reject his philosophy all day long but to what end? Any Democratic obstruction, at this point, is self defeating.
  6. Are you suggesting Scalia was fine on all of those issues?
  7. What everyone is fighting over is NOT a particular nominee but the balance of the court. Replacing Scalia, a conservative, with Garland, a left-leaning moderate, would have shifted the balance. That is why I disagree with the Dems' tactics. Trading a conservative for another conservative changes nothing. There is no way they are going to get a Republican president and a Republican Senate to nominate a liberal justice. They could be reasonable and collegial and approve a conservative to replace Scalia. The next go around, when it comes time to replace a liberal justice, they could justifiably claim the moral high ground and have some leverage. The problem is that their base will punish them. The axiom that comes to mind is cutting your nose off to spite your face.
  8. When I made the initial post last night there was just a picture of a much bigger fire and a sentence about Berkeley. Why would I lie about something that was so obviously wrong
  9. How am I gloating? I was wrong about the election and Penn State lost the Rose Bowl. 0 for 2 is nothing to gloat about.
  10. Anybody taking a drive through rural PA would have noticed Trump signs everywhere, many of them self painted. McCane and Romney never had support like that. I was at a small diner all anyone was talking about was Trump. I was talking to a biker guy and he was moved to tears telling me that Trump was going to win and that He was going to fix the country. To be fair we were drinking. This struck me as very sad, as I thought Trump had no chance. It was not until Election Day when there were no lines in blue areas and two hour lines in red ones that I realized the political earth was shifting. I get it guys. I know what it feels like to have victory in your grasp only to see it slip away under the most improbable of circumstances. I have felt the heart crushing pain of watching UCLA kick the winning field goal as time ran out in the Rose Boal....er... I mean watching the Blue Wall crumble. Pick yourselvs up get some new recruits and a better game plan and move on. Anything else is just counterproductive.
  11. Well no shit. If they've never voted why would pollsters pay any attention to them? Two words... President Trump
  12. Shit-scared of a world where they are no longer relevant?....Sound like the Democrats to me. According to you guys the AltRight is in the White House hardly irrelevant.
  13. Aug 4 1961 - Obama born ~Dec 1960 - Obama conceived Dec 1960 - Recession of 1960-1961 occurs Coincidence? I think not! No he couldn't have been responsible, wasn't in the country yet.
  14. He has a constitutionally protected right to be offensive. You do not have a right to not be offended. If you don't like his ideas, counter them with ideas of your own. If your positions are so weak they cannot withstand scrutiny, you may want to rethink them.
  15. and democracy is to protect and represent all. Work for the good of the country. Work for those who didn't vote, who voted against, who will be born in the next four years. To protect minorities, religions, the weak, the vulnerable and the old. What is the definition of "for the good of the country?" You mentioned those who will be born in the next four years. Some folks think that it is in the best interest of our country that the yet to be born should be protected other folks think it is in the best interest of our country that the unborn should not be protected. I am not taking a position, I am just pointing out that determining just what is best for our country is not so simple.
  16. The situation around Trump feels different to me. I get the impression that intrinsically ugly people (on the inside) have been given carte blanche to show their true nature. Don Are you talking about Berkeley?
  17. They were ignored by the pollsters They were ignored by the press They were ignored by Democrats They are ignored no more Political conversation is a two way street, and nobody was talking to these voters until Trump. He spoke to them and they spoke back.
  18. https://www.facebook.com/foxandfriends/videos/1300010726753187/ What he said.
  19. OMG I had never heard of the guy, but i think I agreed with everything he said. I kept waiting for him to go off the rails but he never did. Thanks for the link. EVERYONE SHOULD VIEW THIS!!!!
  20. Oft ignored? Assuming rural means red, they've had two of the last four Presidents (four of the last six)and swung two of the last six elections against the popular vote. How greedy are they? No I mean folks who had never voted or had checked out of the political process. When it took me five minutes to vote in (blue) Center County and there reports of two hour lines in rural Perry County, I called my brother in Florida and told him Trump was going to take PA, he laughed at me.
  21. So a "dangerous radical ideologue who will set our country back" is fine for the appellate court, but not for the SC?
  22. There will be no need for the nuclear option, Senators Obama, Schumer, Clinton, Kerry, Biden, Feinstein, Reed, Carper, Cantwell et al, have all voted for him before, it would be hypocritical for them to do otherwise now.
