  2. I run a catering firm in the South of Engand and I've just had an enquiry to cater for a wedding at the wind tunnel centre in Bedford...what a sweet idea! Anyone know who it is? are they jumpers or whuffos with a sense of humour?!

  7. Hi,

    I think this is the right forum; I'm looking to get back into the sport (life!) after a 2 year absence...but I have a couple of pribs:

    1. I've lost my log book...I do however have a video of the first 8 of my AFF jumps.

    2. When I start again, i'll be jumping in the UK, for the first time. I've only ever jumped in NZ and my expired license is issued by the NZPIA.

    Other than that, you might need to know that I'm pretty rookie (40ish jumps) and obviously very uncurrent.

    Any help/advice would be brilliant as I really want to relive the best times of my life.

  9. So sorry for the massively late reply mate...I've been away and am catching up on old news!

    Please do say hello to Jackie if she's still around, but I'm sure she must have had to go and get a job at some point...she's the ultimate dz bum!!

    I did do my AFF there last year, had the time of my life end ended upo staying and jumping my ass off for another month or so. In my opinion you couldn't have picked a better place; great dz, great people and a wicked little town to boot.

    Have fun and say hello to the Holy Cow for me.

  12. Does anyone know any skydive / BASE video distributors in the UK? If so, would they be cheaper than buying online from the US?

  15. A Smokejumper from Alaska was in Taupo, NZ trying to complete AFF at the same time as me. Having looked at the conditions those guys are used to jumping in, I can understand why he was a tad frustrated at not being able to get any further than AFF2 because of 12knot winds!!

  20. OK, to answer my own previous question...I've now seen it myself (in 2D) and it is awesome! There is some half assed intelligent storyline/information examining the science of risk and why some people are more attracted to it than others BUT there is also some absolutey stunning footage from Sebastien/Deland and others of freeflying, skyball and RW...not to mention some mind blowing scenes of BASE in Norway (4150 sheer cliff faces!!!).
    Definitely one worth watching.

    Oh and the DeVinci jump is pretty cool too!

  22. Absolutely Brilliant, I'm so looking forward to seeing a bit more of Michael Madsen in vol. II though, does anyone know when thats being released?
    On the subject of Anime, that section in the middle with O-Ren's upbringing was amazing!
