  1. Agreed - this "good 'ol boys network" needs to go. I've experienced similar situations with Mr. Allison - from not allowing the S & T A (me) to file a FACTUAL incident report in fear of litigation, writing bad checks, to closing up the business and hiding assets to avoid paying out on lawsuits (won by me). There is currently similar type of action going on with Mr. Allison and other parties. At some time, don't you think he'd look in the mirror of these repeated situations and realize the problem is HIM? Mr. Allison looks out for himself and NOT the interest of jumpers, spectators, nor the USPA. I urge everyone to make phone calls and learn more before voting.
  2. Looks just like the one I use on my Rebel 2000
  3. I currently use a side mount camera, which puts the AV jacks against the mount. I would like to plug in a short 90 degree cable extension with a female end I can locate elsewhere around my mount. The purpose is to keep from needing to take the camera off everytime I want to dump some video. I've searched ine internet and have come up with nothing which handles 3 channels (video and 2 audios). Anyone know whereI can get one or the parts to make a short extension? 6" would me more than enough. Thanks C My camera is a PC100 which has the 3.5mm av plug.
  4. Interesting........ I like that idea. However, my leader is just over a minute long. How does yours fit on a memory stick?
  5. I'm not using a computer for the run-of-the-mill tandem video (not enough time between loads - I need to pack too!). I'm using a mixing board and s-video (still great quality). I'm finding that these DVDR's all make a new chapter when you start / stop the recording (this includes pausing). I'm wanting to make 1 continuous chapter. Am I asking for something simpler than the DVDR manufacturers offer?
  6. I took the cheapy back and got a Phillips. I like the Phillips already as it has firewire input too. I'm going to give it a try tonight and I'll let you know what I come up with. For anyone that puts leaders on their videos, how do you manage this with the DVD? Thanks Chris
  7. I did turn off auto chapters. This one (cheapo cyberhome) creates autochapters every 5 minutes of recording. Also, it creates a new chapter whenever you start/stop the recording. When I turned off the autochapter, all it turned off was the 5 minute thingy. With the Phillips and the autochapter turned off, when the student puts the DVD in their player, will it automatically start playing the complete DVD? Putting a leader on ahead of time isn't an issue? Thanks!
  8. I recently bought a DVD recorder that I'm wanting to use at the DZ this year. I'm wanting to put a leader on the DVD before I sit down to edit the video. What I've found is that the DVD records separate chapters when I pop the DVD back in after the leader to do this. Is there a DVD recorder that will record more linear (like VHS), so when the DVD is played back, they have a nice linear playback without selecting chapters? Thanks
  9. Customer service is KEY these days. I had a similar experience with Conceptus. Two HUGE thumbs up!!
  10. I guess Kenko quit making this lense and replaced it with a .43. From what I can tell, the .43 has a larger 'form' or size. Is this true? If so, anyone have a kCW-042 they want to sell?
  11. I ordered a new camerasuit from them the first of February. (I heard through a friend that they made a good suit and with the U.S. dollar vs the South African, it sounded like a good deal). Boy, did I ever run into problems..... I ordered it 'rush' and paid a premium to get it by the end of the month, as I was heading to a boogie in March. When the jumpsuit arrived (on-time), it didn't even come close to fitting. The wings were WAY TO LOW and interfered with my hip-rings. Looking back on the order form, there was no measurement for this dimension (armpit to hip-ring). The wing would have interfered with my deployment... NOT GOOD So, I put on the jumpsuit and my rig and had a friend take some digital pics. In these pics are a ruler showing where things were located and how much they needed to be adjusted. I sent the jumpsuit back to South Africa - at my expense (NOT CHEAP). Got it back AFTER the boogie I wanted the jumpsuit for......... And it still is not right!!!!! Also, in the seams where it was 'adjusted', there are loose threads and it is coming apart. Manny (the owner) wants me to ship it back again at my cost. This is getting expensive. I want him to pay shipping - it's not my fault he can't make a suit that fits. Plus, I believe he should refund the premium charge - it's almost 3 months later and I don't have a jumpsuit. On top of that, Manny has implied a 'threat' if we are ever to meet. What kind of good business is this? All I want is a jumpsuit that fits me, for the price promised. I'm reversing the charges on my credit card and calling TonySuit. Guess I should have gone there in the first place..... I would STRONGLY advise anyone considering a jumpsuit from them to go elsewhere...... Chris D23606
