Good. Add to that the more important issue of all the federal judge positions that will now be filled by liberal judges, and we can finally drive a few more nails into the coffin of the religious conservative movement. BTW, if you're going to idolize Reagan, at least learn to spell his name correctly. Most of the new voters weren't even alive when he was in office, don't care, and were thankfully spared the bumbling idiot. He ain't coming back. I personally don't care if the GOP regain control again in 8 years. They are in too much disarray to do it in four. By the time they ever get a sniff of power again, there will be no undoing what will have been done in the meantime. I suspect that we'll be able to retire the two oldest supreme court justices with much more liberal and younger ones. Lastly, let's just say that the Democrats locking up the blue vote is just karmic payback for the GOP gerrymandering and redistricting that attempted to consolidate the red vote. The left is in the driving seat now, just as the right was for 8 years. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

Windows Vista and my mouse and keyboard not working?
gjhdiver replied to Twoply's topic in The Bonfire
Vista ? I'm surprised the fucking thing isn't on fire as well. -
It's very sad to see it go, but if it has to go, I'm glad that it went suddenly, and on the top of it's game. I've written many articles for them over the years, and they always treated my copy well, and were very supportive and generous in their coverage of my organizing career both in the US and around the world. It was the only consistently readable publication produced in the US about the sport, and I loved the way that it wasn't afraid to take on sacred cows. It seems that it's last act was to bring to light the disarray that the USPA board was in, and allowed the membership to make informed decisions in the last elections. We would never have seen such coverage in the USPA magazine, which is essentially worthless. I think that they must be suffering from a number of things, not least of which is the general malaise affecting the conventional print industry. Major newspapers are going out of business, so I can only imagine how hard it must be to produce something of the quality of Skydiving for such a small niche market. Also, after 30 years on the job, it's probably time to pass the torch on. Which leads me to this. The new media is online. If you want to step into the void left by Skydiving, step up. The opportunity is there if you have the same perseverance and determination that Mike and Sue had three decades ago. If you do though, you know the standard that has been set.

Gotta Keep Prinitng it cause I dont know where else it may come from

Perfect. Obama is delivering like a MF already, First Gitmo, then this. I'm going to enjoy the next four years. Having worked as a volunteer for a very prominent pro-choice organization, I couldn't be happier. Also, despite what some on the far religious right would have you believe, most people consider this issue settled and don't want to revisit it. I have a great recipe for fetus fajitas too, so it's all good. Flame away...... -
I'll be there for the early game. I'll try not to go out on the bubbke like I have the last two times.......

Sigh, ad hominem. The last resort when your argument has failed. You don't get to set parameters for answers BTW, when your initial query is so broad based and vague as to defy a a narrow interpretation. Also, your explanation of the financial situation is pure comedy. As someone who worked on the Pacific Options floor for over 10 years, if you can't follow the trail back to those responsible, I can't help you. Anyway, I suggest you just cut and paste this in future to all points of view that you don't agree with. I don't care what the facts are, as long as I get to claim victory on an unrelated little read internet forum. There you go, I'll let you have the last word if you want it, as I think this thread has accomplished all I set out to do

Sigh. Let's say one party take the reigns of a country that it at peace, has huge budget surpluses and a thriving economy, and controls all three branches of government. After eight years of their careful stewardship, the country is embroiled in two wars, teetering on the brink of a financial crisis to rival the great depression, and trillions of dollars in debt to foreign powers, one might think it only reasonable to point a finger at the monkey at the top of the tree. Like George, it's really quite simple. As for Obama, the fact that he can dress himself without a nurse is enough for me right now. Bush set the bar so low for him that I have literally no expectations of him whatsoever. He may fuck it up too in time, but right now, the one thing that's really beyond debate is just how truly bad Bush was.
-
These wouldn't be the same people that drove the country into a ditch during the last eight years would it ? If it is, it's OK, take a break. You've earned it. Here's a bag of pretzels.

Well, for one example, he doesn't appear to need someone to chew his food for him in case he bangs his head.

When I first put you on the back of my car in late 2000, little did I suspect that you'd be there valiantly proclaiming my distaste for Curious George for another eight years. You've been a barometer of the country's mood over the years. After 9/11, I got to feel the wrath of the newly patriotic on a daily basis, one going so far as to actually drive his car off the road in Sunnyvale whilst screaming at me out of his window. If for nothing else, you repaid the $2 I spent on you right there. As the years rolled on though, and as the true idiocy of the man became apparent to even his staunchest supporters, the thumbs up and the honks of agreements grew, and people would even knock on the door of my house to tell me how much they liked you and if I had any more. I went and bought a lot more and gave them out to anyone who asked for one. As of today, it's been over five years since anyone said a bad word about you. But now it's time to retire. With no 44 sworn in today, and no 43 already reduced to the status of a punchline for late night comics, there's no need to be there any more. You can come inside and live in the house, a reminder of a time when America lost it mind, and chose a hapless dullard to look up to. Whether no 44 realises any promise is to come, but if he can eat a pretzel without falling over, (and I suspect that he can), he's already outperforming his predecessor. I won't leave your space blank for long though. Something with a nice atheist tone to it I think.

I'm going to try for the early game. My stack has been up and down like a whore's drawers lately though.

A common misconception. Unless you have a genetic abnormality that allows you to articulate about your upper chest, they don't actually do anything worthwhile except add bulk and decrease structural strength. Round (not D-ring) hips rings, correctly located over the iliac crest of the pelvis, with snug cut-in laterals will anchor any container properly and articulate in exactly the same places you do. (I see a lot of freeflyers with double sets of D-rings with their chest straps cranked down so tight that they've essentially locked a lot of movement out of the whole system.)

It's OK. It was Sky. He got hit in his head. That's several feet from his brain. -
Nice! What site was that on? In my 2 1/2 years on pokerstars, I've had three royal flushes... That was pokerstars. I've had two. The first one didn't pay off as everyone folded to me. I hit this one on the turn, and two other players hit big hands on the turn also. It was a nice payoff for sure....

Jesus- his philosophy- and Human enlightenment.
gjhdiver replied to Darius11's topic in Speakers Corner
You don't need Jesus (for whom funnily enough, no reliable contemporary accounts other than the bible exist, a little fishy eh ?). All you need is the Wiccan rede; "Be it harm none, do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law". Follow that, and you can lead a life free of superstition and fear, and nobody has to get nailed to anything. As far as religion goes, any time people start collecting around a superstition in large numbers, bad things happen to good people. -

He doesn't need that main flap mod on his wings. That mod was restricted to a very few unusually small containers. The rig has all the other protection designs in place. There was nowhere on the rig for a snag, and looking at the severe damage to the riser, if there had been any snagging, the material at the snag point would have shown significant damage. There's not much that will cut through a type 17 riser like that. The rig itself is undamaged, and all the grommets are set correctly and undamaged. One thing will though, and that is microline, vectran and HMA. The riser damage that Q has is consistent with line dump. Whether this happened as part of the malfunction, or as a consequence of it is really impossible to tell. I'm pretty sure that lines got around that riser and came under considerable tension. Still, knowing Q, his reserve was probably out of date anyway, so it all worked out OK.

Well, I went out on the bubble last night with A-Q, hitting my Queen on the flop, but running into K-K on my all in. However, today A-Q suited finally came through for me, as the attached proves. That doesn't happen too often I can tell you

Incorrect by my counting. Dems currently at 58 with two independents for a total of 60. Minnesota recounting and Georgia to go to a runoff. Getting those would just be the icing on the cake.

I've never eaten there since the day I found that they print bible verses on the bottom of their cups. Yes folks, I'm that much of an atheist. Try to slip me religion would you ? Take that. Pity, as I quite liked their fries.

I don't want to hear it. I had the same thing happen to me twice since I won the last tourney. I got felted twice in a row. Both times I was a 95% favorite to win the hand. Both times my trip kings got beat with one outers on the river. I don't even have 2 cents in my account. I'll have to top it up to play tonight. Luckily, every time I got significantly over $100 in my account, I cash out, so at least I got some protection when I run this bad......
-
It's already happened. With 58 senates seats plus the two independents that caucus with the Democrats, they have the 60 they need. Right now, I think the country does need just one set of hands on the wheel. Shit needs to get done, and done fast. Whether it gets done right is another matter, but when you're up to the ass in alligators, it's not time to be trying to form bipartisan committees to see if you can get a majority in favor of draining the swamp.

Anita Hill ? And he couldn't even get that right.....

I'm talking about just getting your head down and getting them done, just like you would any other job of work that you have to do. I'm not talking about just tuning out. It's a job that you have to focus on completely, so if you're going to do a lot of it, you better learn to pace yourself, or your body and especially your concentration won't make it in the long haul.
