  1. Somehow on our group photo, the person to the right of everyone (the left if you are looking at the picture) was cut out. It was Steve Curtis... Sorry Curtis!! We had a lot of fun. Kind of emotional, but it was a lot of fun. take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  2. A few of Holly's friends decided to do a birthday jump for her (a few days before her birthday, but it is the thought right?). We wanted to celebrate her life, so a birthday jump seemed a good thing to do. I just thought that I'd post a few pictures for people. We had a beautiful morning w/ perfect weather and about 13 people on the dive. I'll mention first names: Paul, Malcolm, Steve, Joe, Thomas, April, John, Terry, Storm, Janell, Greg, Vic and Robert. Thanks to everyone who was there, and even to those that weren't able to be there but tried to be or wanted to be.. We released some leaves that were the color of Holly's jumpsuit, and it really came together quite well for a bunch of freefliers on a belly dive.. We really only had about 4 real bellyfliers that really helped to keep our base together. And the videos were wonderful.. I will be putting the pictures and the video on a movie and sendint it to her family for Christmas. *Bets, I'll bring that CD to Eloy this weekend* Sorry, it takes me a while to make the pictures smaller, I should have done that before. Here is the group on the ground... take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  3. Glad to have you back!! I didn't get to actually meet you until the day and time of your accident... I'm so glad that you have pulled through this. Welcome back!!! take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  4. The thing is, to me (my personal opinion of course) and I don't follow sports, but he isn't the only one reaching for that ball is he? take the time to appreciate the people around you.

    High/Low

High: Doing a birthday jump for Holly weekend before last Low: Getting the video together to send to her family so they know we still think about her and care and knowing it will be hard for them... It was hard for us afterwards. take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  6. Well, since you asked.... Boyfriend and I just bought a camera from an online store (Broadway Photo out of New York), and had a horrible experience w/ them not selling just what we needed to us. Then the things they sent out on top of the camera were crap, so I called them to send them back and they didn't (actually refused) to take the stuff that I didn't need back.... There is a website out on the internet called bizrate.com and they have postings about websites and how they do business, unfortunately I wish we would have found this website before we had the experience w/ the company that we have had so far... We definitely wouldn't have bought anything from them. On the bizrate website they were actually saying that people who were in the "customer service" field were hanging up on them and cussing them out. WTF???? So, just my 2 cents, but if I encounter any more online stores like this, I'll quit shopping on line all together. REI rocks w/ their online store. My opinion of course. take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  7. I love the pink!!! I should do that to my babies, but they'd need a color that goes with orange and yellow. Here are mine and my boyfriends monsters. The Citron is Baby and the Sulfer Crested is Xaos. They definitely fit their names. take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  8. Maybe I just didn't look close enough, but what is wrong w/ the Alti??? Don't have a lucky or unlucky number or superstition. But I did have my first cutaway on Lucky jump number 7!! Still on student status because the way they did it at my home DZ at the time was 4 tandems then you were on your own. Even have the video so that is a good one, gives people goosebumps to watch it. I think it was because my main "kissed" my reserve before leaving. take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  9. They don't have mine. On tummy kind of like the starfish thing, although I don't know if I'd consider it all "open" like they say. Or my mind is just in a bad place. take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  10. Ok, I know there have been changes in the USPA licenses as far as how many jumps per license, but I can't find anywhere on USPA's website how long you can go between jumps for certain licenses. Mostly looking for A licenses, but if you know the B, C, and D that is good for me to know too!!! Looking for a friend of mine who has her A, but is freaking out because she will be at 30+ days between her last jump, my boyfriend says 60 and I can't remember???? Thanks to all those who know and post the answer. take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  11. I think that everyone is giving you excellent advice, but you seem like you have your mind made up. If you do, please please be careful. I'm just now at about 1.3:1 (I'm guessing kind of), and I'm at 450+ jumps. Granted everyone goes at different speeds with things but I haven't even come close to "maxing" my canopy out, and I probably never will, but it is fun, and pretty fast. I'm jumping a Vengeance 135 and went to that from a Sabre 150 and let me tell you, HUGE DIFFERENCE, especially when I had my first off downwind landing. And you really have to think about everything when someone is doing huge S turns in front of you and they don't see you till last minute because they are coming right at you, you need to KNOW that you'll react in a cautious manner because in a high stress situation that canopy will spank you very easily. Can you say pucker factor? I'm with you borrowing and testing the water for a bit, save up your cash and if you can get it for yourself by Christmas or Easter or soemthing you have a nice little gift from you to you. But whatever you do decide, just be careful, even those of us who don't know you still care about your safety. take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  12. Not to make offers for other people, but my old room mate is coming down for the holiday boogie from Washington and I'm not sure if he is driving or not.. But you could always check with him!! take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  13. You don't have fish on occasion in there... Or chicken if you need the protien. Most of the time I pass up meat, unless I really need the protien and didn't get it from other foods that day.. But wouldnt care if I gave up the chicken and fish portion all that much. take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  14. 0:5:0 Had an awesome day playing in the clouds at Eloy though!!! Although I showed up to the DZ today and thought I wouldn't get any in at all, it was only raining at the DZ. Changed hoping that would help a bit and 30+ minutes later, FIRST LOAD!!! Tee hee. take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  15. How did I miss out on all the boobies????? take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  16. Everytime I was able to jump at Deland I had a ball!! It was a lot of fun for me, and the pictures that I took with this little disposable camera turned out so cool with all the clouds there. They are more leinient about people pulling high and just checking everything out and seeing what is around, plus everything is so green!!! And I still can't get over the clouds!!!! Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to get back over there since about a year ago, but if I had the chance to go back I'd go back in a heartbeat. I've attached a few pictures of when I was there and the pics I took of my honey with the disposable camera. take the time to appreciate the people around you.

I love those!!! Except since I don't have the ease of the bowl and microwave readily available at work I just put them in a baggie, still frozen, and by lunch time they are ready to go (leave them out of the fridge), and don't put salt on them until you are ready to chow down. Yummy... But very good snackie!!! take the time to appreciate the people around you.

Ok, I only glanced at the ones that Kevin had up there and this one is a bit different... This was the one I had from her at the DZ and we used broccoli for the dippin part (exactly how Hol wrote it). Garlic Cilantro Garlic Walnuts or pine nuts Seasalt basil Olive oil Ginger Garlic Lemon or lime juice Spinach Garlic I think she wanted us to realize there was a LOT of garlic in there... I noticed the one you guys had, had the habanero chilis in it, this was just a bit different... take the time to appreciate the people around you.

  21. I'm guessing that since we haven't heard anything he is still on the road to recovery?? take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  22. Mine was a guy from work to took me flying in his little Cessna 152 and we just happened to end up at Eloy "go figure". Then I figured I'd do one and when I did, WHAMO hooked.. Even lost a bf over the whole thing. But that was ok with me.. take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  23. My mom loved it when she went... Another one hooked!! I think she'd do it again if her and my dad were in a better financial situation. My dad says it is his turn next. If I can get him to come to AZ it will be all set up!!! take the time to appreciate the people around you.
  24. I'm with you.. I had a house w/ my ex of 4 years, he kept the house and the bike and I took the truck and the bike payment... .. Figured that since he made more than me and put more on the house and also sucked up the down payment on my truck at the time that was only fair. Also have to say that he helped me buy my first rig and didn't even bother to bring that up so we split very adult like. take the time to appreciate the people around you.
