  1. First I will identify my self: Alejandro López, I did participate in the competition with Flylikebrick team along with Jarno and Costijn. Just for the record. I do recall me talking to you directly Jarno in Gap about this issue when I told you how the Spanish team was feeling about the discrepancies between the prizes announced and the prizes given, as they complained to me first as part of the organization. You did, at that time, tell me that you were going to talk to the Spanish team which I don´t doubt you did. I do agree that the form of this communication/discussion is not the most polite, however: Let´s examine the facts: Prizes where announced in a website The allocation of prizes was changed (before the competition started), BUT it was not communicated to the teams. Prizes were allocated according to the new, and unknown by the competitors, allocation. Given this facts, it is normal that people who have not receive the prize that they though were going to receive according to what was publish in the website, complain about it. It is not about "competing for prizes" or "needing it more" or "divide the prizes more honest over all places so everyone would go home happy". It is a communication problem. Beside the nature and reasons for the decision to change the prizes, it was not communicated. And once a complain like this is received, maybe a simple acknowledgement of the mistake and an apology would have suffice to avoid long "childish" discussions like this one. PS: I only give my opinion here as I was part of the organization of the competition (even though I did not do much) and because of that the complain came to me first. With much love to wingsuiting, the pilots and all of you in general Alejandro
  2. Hi there, In coordination with the Tora-Tora Total In- and Outdoor Flight Adventure, team Flylikebrick will be organizing wingsuit loads and providing wingsuit coaching this summer at Kolomna, Russia (near Moscow). Aerograd Kolomna is the largest and most professional DZ you can find in Europe. With 4 Turbolets and a MI8 helicopter at your service, this place offers liftcapacity to hundreds of funjumpers in the weekend. The manifest is running smoothly even with these numbers, and the prices are ridiculously Russian. There are bungalows, bunkhouses and western standard hotelrooms to choose from, right on the DZ. A restaurant serves everything from a quality steak to Russian Sushi. The 24-hour-bar tops it all off. But oh yeah, when you're still thirsty in the morning, there's also a swooppond. Available Coaches so far: Jasper van der Meer Martijn van Dam Stefan Lipp Olga Bakulina Jarno Cordia Alejandro Lopez Standard package You can join the camp for one or two weeks. The standard package is 1900 € for a week or 2725 € for 2 weeks and includes the following: - Lot's of organised wingsuiting in small and large groups. - 30 jumps including 8 1-on-1 coachingtickets (2 weeks - 60 jumps). - 1/2 hour windtunnel + coaching at the 16,5 ft Freezone where you can practice backflying skills for your wingsuit flights in the sky. - Lodging in a bungalow (2 pers per room), upgrade to hotelroom for 102 € per week. - Transport from airport to DZ and back. Transport from DZ to windtunnel and back. - We arrange and pay your official visum invitation (mandatory for a Russian visum). Each package can be extended according to your wishes: - 15 min extra windtunnel: 190 € - 8 extra 1-on-1 coachingtickets: 266 € (+ your own jumps) - 4 wingsuit coachingtickets: 133 € (+ your own jumps) - 4 wingsuit coachingtickets + first jump course: 148 € (+ your own jumps) - extra jumps: 13,50 € (you don't have to reserve extra slots, jump as much as you want and pay at the end) Well let´s start a list of wingsuit pilots that would like to come: Miikka Sakari Oksanen Leonid Sigalov Sergey Panteleyev ... Don´t be shy and let us know, we will arrange the details later. Any questions, send a mail to [email protected] Blue skies, Alex

  5. Hey hey, some more details on this wonderful summer boogie The planes will be 2 pilatus porter Jump tickets 25 Euros per jump Registration fee: 40 Euros Coaching jump: 70 Euros (including two slots and fee) so far we have two teams that have showed interest in participating in this boogie so it will be a good opportunity to train together. And for those of you who are thinking about the flocks or coaching jumps, let me tell you that this is the "summer" boogie, jumps overlooking the ocean and the big river Garone, surf style atmosphere and lots of chicks and parties. Don't hesitate, Alex
  6. Martin, We are trying to get Benedikt down there for the PFI course. Are you guys getting any clarity about your attendance? Is anybody else attending that has not posted here??????? Blue skies, Alex
  7. So let´s start up a list: Alex César Come on, don´t be shy
  8. Hey, 0ne new edition of the fun-in-the sun early spring boogie, the "EmpuriaFlock", will take place from April 11th to April 18th. This year we will focus our developing individual flying skills with smaller groups and specific coaching sessions for the International Artistic Wingsuit Competition in Terni Italy in September 11th to 14th. Check it out: http://www.wingsuitcompetition.com/wscomp2010/index.html During the boogie we will have the usual Twin Otter and the Pilatus to train from and of course the wonderful Spanish weather. Who is coming? Cheers, Alex Flylikebrick team www.flylikebrick.com
  9. What can I say? A girl in sexy lingerie riding on my back while I flock the skies, yes, that is fun... Gotta be here man. Alejandro
  10. Here we are, in Soulac, enjoying the sunny weather and 30 degrees. So a very good atmosphere, a pilatus and a twin otter, What else can we ask for? Yeah, good people and good wingsuit pilots. So we have that, and we have already started to build good flocks of 5 or 6. People are already asking for the Red Baron, but we will see about that later on the week. An idea is to have the "cross over" jump, so take the pilatus, drop in the middle of the river and go land in Royan at the other side, then take it again and repeat direction Soulac, isn´t it cool? More news to come during the week!!! Alejandro
  11. Hey, hey, sorry about the posting so focused on the hospitality of the Ukranians, but I was delighted. About the jumps, there was a good bunch of flyers at the DZ. We started with arrow formations and worked during the week on proximity flying on slot specific formations. By the end of the week formations were coming together with nice 6 to 7 way flocks. Landing area is huge and even though it is difficult to have an outside landing, I manage to have one on a one on one coach. Not a big problem as there are a lot of fields around and a quick pick up waiting for you. The plane runs in what I call "all you can fly" mode, so for example we had only 8 loads on Wednesday, but the wingsuiters were in each load as the plane waited for us to pack!! That´s what I call service. Borodyanka is a wondeful place for a wingsuit boogie, you jump as much as you want and there are some people very skilled eager to fly formations. See you there next year!!! Alejandro
  12. Nevertheless, a biplane is challenging enough. In Empuria we managed (with very skilled people I may say ) to build the two wings, the structure in between, the fuselage, the pilot, the machine gun, the little doggy, the beer cans, some of the bombs, and so on, but we did not complet the tail. So until the tail is completed, we will keep it a biplane and not a tri-plane. As people from Empuria now, this figure is called the baron, no matter what. Hope to see you there to help building it. Alejandro
  13. An unexpected destination for a boogie and a nice surprise from the beginning. The Ukrainian summer boogie at Borodyanka (near Kiev) is a very pleasant event in a very pleasant environment. Local people in Ukraine are very friendly and welcoming, and knowing that the language is a big barrier for the foreigners they do take good care of their guests to facilitate their stay in their country. Bordyanka is a small town with a nice grass airfield that hosts an Antonov 2 and a Turbolet 410. Very nice and relaxed atmosphere and a surprising (for me) good weather, 30 degrees and sun every day. When the locals heard my comments about the weather they said, “welcome to Boro-Boro”, which basically tells you that this is the standard weather every summer in Borodyanka. The plane is cool, it claims up fast and he makes as many loads as needed, we were able to do 8 jumps a day without a problem. The parties with the Boro skydivers were fantastic and the Samagon (homebrewed vodka, see link http://www.ukraine-tourism.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20&Itemid=34 cherry on top. The so called “firewater” is very tasty and has 60 proof (measure of alcohol), normal drink for the brave Ukrainians. And let me tell you about their hospitality. On Sunday, my second day in the dropzone, I locked my self out of the hangar with all my belongings inside at the end of the day. My only cloths and that moment were my surf trunks and my flip-flops. No money, no passport, no credit cards, no phone, no personal identification, in a place that I didn’t know, no being able to speak either Ukrainian or Russian, and with the only support of Benedikt, who did not spoke any local language either. Not only the hangar was locked with all our belongings inside, but on top of that everybody was gone and we did not know were the apartment or the skydiving tent camp were. Well, as the apartment was quite far away and we had no money for a taxi, we decided to walk the 800 to the tent campAfter walking through a small forest we found Jarno and the others chatting with Seva and Tania. So, even though I claimed that I needed the hangar open to get my things and go to my apartment to get changed for the night, Tania and Seva told me to relax, told me that the hangar is not open until the morning, and everything there is super safe. So relax and enjoy the night. At the time the only thought in my head was “I am only wearing a surf trunk and flip flops”. But I followed the advice, and before I could finished my previous thought, Tania lent me a nice long sleeve T-shirt and we were walked to the dining area. Nice experience to help out collecting wood for the barbecue, by the way!!!! And you know how it goes in these cases, one thing leads to another, drinks start to run around the table people laugh, and then the samagon appears. This is the moment in the night that changes everything. Let me tell you, there is an evening before the samagon and an evening after. The stupid pictures are taken, the weird faces (mine) in them, somebody founded a guitar, that in no time was put to work. In the blink of and eye we all passed from SNAFU (Situation Normal All Fucked Up) to FUBAR (Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition). I think I was back at the apartment around 2:30 in the morning, don’t know how I reached my bed. The morning after I was still drunk, not knowing where I left my still camera and surprised when told that everybody knew that the plane needed some maintenance that morning. Aha moment, that’s why they were partying so hard and why the Samagon appeared. Well, long story short, I thought I lost my camera, and the local skydivers took care of trying to find it for me while I was founding it at the apparment. I realized a day later that they were trying to find it, and I really touch me how much the. From that moment on I started to experience the authentic Ukrainian hospitatily. After this glorious night I thought “note to myself: learn Russian, and fast!!”, so I put myself to absorb as much language as I could, and was very proud of myself when I managed to pronounce correctly “Balshie Siskies”, two words that by a mysterious way made all the girls at the dropzone laugh with me or at me I am not sure. Lots of sun, very nice people and wonderful landscape, what else could I ask for oh yeah! “Skydiving, beer and sex, and no more time to work…” as one of the pull cords that I got as gift said. From near the bottom of my heart I would like to thank all the locals (and forgive me if I don´t remember all the names): Seva, Tania, Anna, Shasha, Yuri, Dmitry, Grisha, Lena, Svereta, Oilec, Alexey, Vassily, Vitaly, Kostantin, Nadiia, and the 3000 Alexs that I met there, for their hospitality, their Russian/Ukranian lessons, their efforts to find the so thought lost still camera, their 100, 200, 2222 jumps celebration in the plaen, their invitations for food and samagon, their wonderful birthday presents, their friendship and their fun sharing and most of all for painfully listening to my attempts to play the guitar and sing (even though we enjoyed the our personal version of “Hotel California” from The Eagles, “Dropzone Borodjanka”): “Welcome to the Dropzone Borodyanka, Such a lovely place, such a lovely place, Plenty of jumps and fun at the Dropzone Borodyanka, Any time of year, you will find here” So if you really want to have the experience of your life, in some many areas, come next year Ukraine Wingsuit Boogie 2010 with Flylikebrick and in the mean time enjoy the video (too be posted soon) and prepare yourself for our next destination. Soulac sur Mer Wingsuit boogie 2009, a summer boogie with a surfing flavor in a pristine location by the Atlantic French coast, check it out. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=france&sll=37.649034,-95.712891&sspn=37.881833,93.076172&ie=UTF8&ll=45.548679,-1.049881&spn=0.131996,0.363579&t=h&z=12 Dates are: July 18th to 26th For more information see. www.airboss.nl , or the thread that Jarno started on the topic. 14. So here I am Alejandro on the keyboard, If you have heard about our last wingsuit boogies in Empuriabrava (Spain) and Borodyanka (Ukraine), our motto is party hard and fly smooth. So get ready for some serious flying, we will be making groups of wingsuit pilots by skill level. The most advance jumps that we made had some serious 3D flying (stacks of 3 people). We will aim during this week to build the famous "Red Baron", a figure of a biplane from the 1st world war, two lines make the wings, to people in the middle link them, 3 people make the fuselage and yet some more make the tail. Crazy and beautiful staff. For those who will need it we will have focus jumps to improve specific skills, from basics of approaching the formation to more advance skills on vertical stacks and docked formations. As a special jump I will try to organize the impossible jump, fly from Soulac to Royan and then a flight back to Soulac. So come and join us in this surfer dropzone for a very nice summer boogie. Alex
