    London Skydivers

Hi all, This months drinks evening is going to be next Thursday in the Montagu Pyke on Charing Cross Road from around 6.30. We are not going to reserve an area this time, so if you're new coming along try to wear something skydiving related and go for a bit of a wander round and we'll grab you. We'll be aiming to grab a table or two somewhere reasonably accessible and for the first hour or two at least (before the drink kicks in!) we'll keep an eye on the bar for anyone looking lost and skydiverish. Caz ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  6. Great shots and fantastic video, the final 36 canopies peeling off at the end is great footage. Just started doing CF this summer (ha, summer in the UK!) and this is very inspiring. maybe me and my newly founded CF team mates will be on the next record, who knows! well done to everyone on the record, esp the Brits I know. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

    London Skydivers

Hi all, just a quick reminder that this months drinks night is on Thursday in the Curzon on Shaftesbury Avenue from around 6.30ish like normal. If it is your first time along then we are quite easy to find, go down the stairs and turn to the left and we are usually along towards the end in a roped off section (so we don't contaminate the rest of the whuffo clientele I think!). I hope to see you there, Caz ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

    Holy Smoke!

Myself and a colleague are working in Orlando at the moment (and I'll be staying on next week to hopefully jump - yay!) and we are probably the only two in the entire office that aren't wandering around with red eyes from all the smoke. I guess coming from London we're most used to polluted air than I ever thought we were! ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

    US Routefinder

Can anyone recommend a good route finder site for the US? I know lots of European ones but am struggling to find a decent US one (probably my internet searching skills rather than anything else!). I'm coming out to Florida next week and it would be useful to plan in advance where I'll be driving to! cheers

    London Skydivers

Hi All, A reminder that this months drinks night is next Thursday (26th April). It will be held in the Curzon again - thanks to Alex for inviting us back! The address is Curzon Soho, 99 Shaftesbury Avenue London W1D 5DY. If you go inside and head down the stairs, there is a bar down there and we will be up the back somewhere. If anyone has any (reasonable!) suggestions about what we can do to improve the night, please let me know and I'll feed it back to Alex to see what we can do. Remember that you can bring along skydiving dvds to put on the screen, last time we watched the same one about 5 times so some variety would be appreciated! So see you there hopefully, Caz ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  20. thanks for the comments guys, I may well have to split my time between the two!
  21. I'm looking at coming out to Florida from the UK for work in a few weeks time and will extend my trip for a few days to a week to get some jumping in while I'm over there. Where I'm staying for work is about halfway between Sebastian and Z-Hills, so where do people suggest I go at this time of the year? I can head up freefly, have 250 jumps and am just looking for a few fun jumps, somewhere reasonably cheap to stay, and looking to meet some friendly people while I'm over there. cheers for any advice! ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

Hi All, This months drinks evening is on Thursday (22nd). We will not be meeting in the Montagu Pyke like normal, this month we are going to the Curzon on Shaftesbury Avenue. Those of you who have been on the list a long time will remember that we've had one night there before a long while back, and we've decided to go back there again due to our normal pub being ever more awkward about charging us to book and forgetting our bookings etc. The Curzon is an art house cinema located at "99 Shaftesbury Avenue London W1D 5DY" and is about 5 mins (if that!) walk from the Montagu Pyke. It has an underground bar, and is a nice area where we can play skydiving dvds etc. It is managed by a skydiver, Alex, who is a member of the London Skydivers group. I'm not going to be in the office or have access to dz.com so if someone could bump this thread in a couple of days that would be much appreciated, ta. see you Thursday, Caroline ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  23. If you're looking at going to Empuria, then you probably want to go to Girona airport as it is much nearer rather than Barcelona, unless you are planning on spending some time in Barcelona itself before hand. For Seville, there are a number of airports in the south all within an hour or 2ish's drive. I'm flying to Malaga and hope to get to Seville in about 2 hours driving. As far as Freefall Addicts goes, Barry and Lamorna who run the school are fantastic people and really look after their students. I know a lot of people who have done their AFF with them from when they were based in Lillo and since they've gone to Seville. If you have any queries, Lamorna is great at answering your emails. Either way, picking Empuria or Seville, both are fantastic schools and dz's and people will sing the praise of both and I'm sure you'll have a great time at either. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  24. Geez how fast do you walk?? Beach is more realistically 30-40 mins walk from the DZ. Empuria is a fabulous place though, I did my AFF there a few years back and loved every minute of it, I've also taken non jumping friends with me out there and they've really enjoyed it as well. I haven't been to Seville yet (am going there later this month though) but from everything I've heard it is also an excellent dz. There's also a lot of cultural stuff to do down in the south, although it will be very hot in the summer. I've been to Lillo a few times while it was under different management, enjoyed it both times but it is a very small dz in the middle of nowhere and absolutely nothing to do if you are a non jumper. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  25. godammit man use some more vowels! happy St Davids day Gerb, I'm going out for dinner tonight so I'll see if I can find some leek soup for starters to eat in your honour Caz ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
