  1. Skydivers never die, they fly away... Fly free Alfred, you will be missed.
  2. We had a blast flying with those 2 this weekend! We learned a lot, while we were having great fun playing in that thing. What more can you ask for? It was our first time flying at Bedford. What a great tunnel you guys have! I'm officially jealous..... Hope we can make it back very soon
  3. Nice Steve. Too bad that I won't be able to make it but hope you raise a lot of money!
  4. Gonna be in the Paristunnel this coming weekend BUT gonna do teamtraining in Orlando in 2 weeks, wich ofcourse includes a lot of tunnel. I hate my live .....
  5. QuoteWhat excites you the most about the tunnel? The fact that I am going te be in there again next weekend!!!!
  6. Don't know what kind of canopy your jumping but maybe an idea to upsize it untill you have your confidence back? If you could do it then, you certainly can do it again. Don't give up and trust yourself , you'll get the feeling back!
  7. Done over a 100 so far. Most of team 4-way, so include camaraslot and coach...... Also 5 hours of windtunnel with my team. Think ill be bankrupt by the end of this year but hey: everything for the team
  8. What helped me was getting my landings taped by someone. Then discuss the tape with your instructor/Canopy Control Specialist and let them teach you what to improve. If you keep that up for a day ot what of jumping or so I know you're landings will improve! Goodl luck!
  9. Dude, in a few weeks I'll be getting my NEW rig...Will I be able to jump it? WHO KNOWS!!, I hope so, because I'm broke right now, and these Ramen soups are getting on my nerves. Okay, Okay, Okay I'll burn my first canopy in a ritual and dance around the fire as soon as it is full moon.. I'll ask for some jumpable weather for us both! Maybe a good idea that you burn your old rig on the same night ;)
  10. [You have no idea how many novenas, prayers and sacrifices I'm making to the Sun god. I wanna join, the weather suc.. overhere!! How do I do this & what do I have to sacrifice? My first canopy?
  11. "It is better to walk further, then to be carried a short distance." And just learned this one: "Succes is more often the flawless execution of a simple plan than rare moments of brilliance"
  12. They say on the website that you should call and make reservations. We did that, I think so should you. So far so good. The problem is that you during that day never know at what time you're flying. It is not like in Orlando where you book an hour from 15.00 - 16.00 or so. In Paris you'll get the hour allright but spread over timeframes they see fit. Well it was good to be in a tunnel anyhow. I'm sure you're gonna enjoy it too. Have Fun!!
  13. Went to the tunnel in Paris two weeks ago. It was nice going to a tunnel on driving distance instead of flying the 10 hours + jetlagbonus to Orlando. Bottum line: it's a pretty nice place to train and fly in, here are some pro's and cons: 1. The air is much more "steady", you're not going up and down due to turbulence in the tunnel. 2. It's also much bigger, so as a 4-way you can practice almost any block in it (heard the french 8-way team is even training in it). 3. It's also blowing faster, it feels more like real freefall. The downside of that from a training point of view is that you have to give less input so maybe you built less "body awareness" while flying in it. Cons: 1. That tunnel in FU>>ING expensive. I'm not kidding when I tell you it is TWICE the price of Orlando (especially with the low $ at the moment!). My team calculated that if we wanted to fly six hours we are better of flying to Orlando and doing the training there. 2. It is managed in a weird way. We wanted to buy time by the hour, knowing what time to be there to start. That's not the case in Paris. You're supposed to show up at the opening time and say how much time you want to fly. Then they give you minutes when they feel they can plan you in. So sometimes you have 15 min. on a row, then 30 min. etc. etc. You never know on what timeschedule you are. When you are unlucky a bunch of "funriders" go in with you and then you're timeframe is like: 2,5 min. of flying, 30 min. waiting inside, 2,5 min. flying etc. So you never know how much time you're traingsession is going to cost. It might as well take you all day. 3. They have no debrief/video room. So in between sessions you can't debrief really good. Paris is a good start for Europe to have a tunnel but they could def. use some competition so the prices get lower and the management is more willing to fill in requests of the skydivers!! Europe needs MORE tunnels!
  14. What he said! If you really hated them... stick the reunion where the sun doesn't shine! Go kiss some nice clouds instead
  15. Man, those are some really scary pics.!! Hope someone talked to the "opening jumper", glad you're all okay!
