1. doesnt appear to be anything you can do about it except to refine your own personal ethics. People are going to do whatever they want and sell whatever they want whether you like it or not. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

3. talk to your rigger and/or the manufacturer of the container about why putting a parachute that is not sized correctly for the container is a bad idea. But one of the reasons would be not enough tension on the main tray, increasing likelyhood of a premature opening. It's not a good idea! Can't you save up a bit of money and sell your old rig and look for an equally cheap but smaller sized rig? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
4. I've ate some. I eat most of anything though. I don't really care. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
5. who makes the faqtor? I've never heard. I have jumped the sabre2 and found it to be a sweet canopy. I would just demo each in your size so you can form your own opinion, though. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

sitfly
I know that there are most likely MANY threads on this (and I WILL go look for them), but I have trouble holding my sit for more than about 5-7 seconds at most. I think I'm needing to relax more. Andy, when the heck are you going to give a me a clue?
Hey Kevin, merry christmas to you and Cora. I hope you guys are having a good one. About the sitfly. There's two things you'll want to do before freeflying (imho at least). 1) go over your whole rig and make sure its "freefly friendly". This means theres no flaps, covers, etc that will blow open while doing high speed transitions while freeflying. You know who would be a great person to grab when he's not busy is Stephen Lee. Also Dave in the gear store would be another really knowledgeable source (I think he even posts on here). 2) talk with a coach about what you need to be thinking about when getting into a sit for your first couple tries. There's a lot of habits that you can get into if youre trying to just "figure it out" that can end up being counter productive in the end! Again Stephen Lee would be an awesome person to talk to about working on freeflying. Hope that helps! I'll talk to you next time I'm out there about it more. Like I said, it's really fun! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
7. the used market for AADs is pretty big too. It seems the turnover rate for skydiving gear in general correlates nicely with the turnover rate of jumpers, i.e. high. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
8. I've also heard it referred to as a "roll over". --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
9. bundle up and jump at your DZ if they are still operating at this time of year. If you dress right then you won't have that much of a problem with the cold. Think face protection from the wind, gloves and glove liners, thermal underwear, etc etc. You'll be alright if you get out with the right gear. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
10.
Pd Reserve slinks have been proved to be stronger than #5 metal links which are the standerd on BASE rigs
Just out of curiousity, does anybody know how much testing PD did on their reserve slinks where they similated something you might run across in a BASE enviroment (i.e. mud, water, dust, sand, etc getting ground into the slink upon landing in a sketchy landing area) ? Seems like an amount of dirt/water being grinded into the slink over a period of time would decrease the integrity. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
11. It's silly that women would demand different standards while at the same time demand equal and fair treatment. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...

13.
like you shouldn't get green unless you like looking for big green things in a bigger green field if you have a bad day and have a cutaway
Depends on what shade of green. My canopy is green and it was easy as hell to find after cutting it away. Most things in nature arn't a bold, solid green color anyways. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
14. once you get the strap set in the position you want it to be take a little thread and needle and tack it down. Works a lot better than a rubberband. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
