  1. I've seen the smaller sony cameras used a lot which looks like a decent light weight option for tandem vid/stills....or the gopro option. But aside from that aspect I haven't seen this. my pics & stuff!
  2. http://www.woot.com/plus/canon-lenses-2?ref=cnt_wp_21 This is a canon 24-105 F4L IS USM lens. I have one, it came with my 5D. Not really ideal for skydiving (though I have used it a few times) but I think it's a pretty decent price on an L lens. Just thought I'd share. I've used this site several times and while the shipping isn't the fastest I've never been burned. They sell a lot of refurbished stuff but this isn't showing that's the case. Looks new to me. my pics & stuff!
  3. How about any of the older vegas versions? I really don't want to deal with it if it's a pain in the ass. my pics & stuff!
  4. I haven't done up any in a while but feel that the ZP is a waste of time and energy. It wears out a lot faster & is a bitch to work with. The tape holds up a LOT longer and of course is SOOO much easier sew. Just my 2 cents. my pics & stuff!
  5. There's a new place in Mulino that's a bit closer to Portland. They're having their first boogie next weekend (Aug 8-9) and will be allowing camping during the event. They're also going to have a Blackhawk Grand Caravan along with a helicopter (I think the helo will be there). www.pnwskydiving.com my pics & stuff!
  6. It's doable, but you'll need $$ and commitment. I too live in a place where you can't jump year round (as much as you'd like) and the skill level around to jump with constantly just isn't abundant either. But I did get the invite on the previous record and was a part of it. I went to a TON of camps ($$) and jumped my ass off (commitment). my pics & stuff!
  7. Hey northwest jumpers, Oregon's newest dropzone will have a caravan this weekend. Come on out and check out the new digs! I'll be organizing and am very much looking forward to it! https://www.pnwskydiving.com/ my pics & stuff!
  8. Awesome, thanks guys. Totally makes sense. my pics & stuff!
  9. Can you explain? Are you saying it comes with the canopy?...from the manufacturer? my pics & stuff!
  10. Anybody seen one of these before? I know the pics aren't the best but it looks like it's a pc of spectra knotted at the end.... Not really sure about the rest of it. my pics & stuff!
  11. for starters you really need to be able to fly on your head. You don't need to be a rockstar at it....but you need to be able to do it. If you can't walk....then running shouldn't be attempted. Patience grasshopper...this shit won't come over night. Just keep at it, jump with others, get coaching when you can, get some tunnel time if you can and by all means, DO NOT DO SOLO HEAD DOWN JUMPS! my pics & stuff!
  12. I would find the guy that left the fence closed and sue them. If that fence wasn't closed the landing would have been fine. my pics & stuff!
  13. Since we're on the subject of tension (sorry...don't mean to highjack this) but I have issues with my machine in reverse only. It goes very tight on the top pulling the thread thru the material. Otherwise I feel I have the rest of the machine dialed. my pics & stuff!
  14. I have only seen the on/off style and for the most part that should be fine. I've thought about trying to replicate the 3way switch too but just seemed like more work than needed. my pics & stuff!
  15. There are many old threads on here regarding this...i know since i've posted pictures to them. There are many options for making your own. I think the key is if it's a mouth switch, make it rugged and water/slobber proof. If it's a bite...it will need to be even stronger. I make a tongue that looks pretty sad but has served me well for many years and is CHEAP!!!!! my pics & stuff!
  16. so....anyone? Is there even such a manual for the rig? my pics & stuff!
  17. Looks like the Viper is the rig http://www.tridenthc.com/VProducts.htm but the manual download doesn't work. my pics & stuff!
  18. Got an odd one and I don't have a manual for it. Anyone happen to have one? I don't even know what type of rig it is. Pretty sure it's a Ray Ferrell rig...correct? Haven't seen one in a long ass time. my pics & stuff!
  19. I made one similar 14 years ago for my PC1 and it worked great. It ran off a 9v battery and the battery lasted years. If you could, on your diagram give a symbol key to what the different symbols are put them in laymen's terms....and where you buy them. I don't think radio shack would sell all of those parts. my pics & stuff!
  20. that's pretty cool. Wish you could zoom in a LOT more though. my pics & stuff!
  21. The newest family friendly, fun jumper friendly DZ has now opened. https://pnwskydiving.com/ Oregon has desperately needed a new drop zone and we finally have one. No elitism, no more being talked down to, no more rules to just have rules (and only to have them change and then getting yelled at for not knowing them), just fun skydiving! It will be a safe welcoming place to enjoy the sport we all love. They have a very clean 206, very large landing area next to the hanger where they're currently working out of with lots of smiles & excitement. I can't wait to watch this place grow & witness the rebirth of fun jumping in Oregon. my pics & stuff!
  22. I was just thinking the same thing...but I use a cypress screw driver for this. my pics & stuff!
  23. Pretty sure the owner hooked it in pretty bad a couple of weeks ago and this might be part of the reason for no communication as of late. Other than that I got nothing for you. I'd reverse the charges....or whatever it's called. my pics & stuff!
  24. Not much has changed....the weather still sucks ass 9 months out of the year. Kapowsin in Shelton jumps year round...weather permitting. Snohomish i'm guessing is the same but with limited capacity (tandems are priority) and there's a place on whidby island that looks to be doing pretty good. Also a smaller place out in Chelan, not sure if they are year round. my pics & stuff!
  25. My rig was made for me and the leg straps do slide up (down?) my legs. So with that said, I have had one on my rig since I got it. Everyone is different...whether the rig was made for you or someone else. It might slide up your leg, it might not. If it does, that bungee will work wonders. my pics & stuff!
