  1. It will become an issue as you progress, probably more so sit flying & it's something you'll have to overcome as your progress. Tighter fitting/less drag suits, and possibly weight. There are very experienced freefliers in this same position...you're not the only one. WIth that said, the fatties have the same problem but on the other end of the spectrum. Just keep at it. my pics & stuff!
  2. you're also looking at the stats of a top tier team. They compete in the open category...the top. Like stated above, anyone can compete (think you have to have a c license for nationals). But, if you want to be at the top you'll have to pay your dues....and that means putting in the time...time in the sport, time in the tunnel...and the time whoring yourself out to get there. All those guys/gals made huge sacrifices to get where they're at. Granted, it's much easier for them now....but to get there you'll have to make sacrifices. my pics & stuff!
  3. I still have mine and still rely on it. my pics & stuff!
  4. I have never heard that it's illegal. There are concerns about being 'attached' so to speak to the flap but I really don't think the rigger police are going to pull you over. Like already mentioned, you can sew it to the binding tape of the yoke....but then it's more premanent. my pics & stuff!
  5. That gives a nice perspective. Mind telling us what lens & aperature? my pics & stuff!
  6. You did did read the part where it said they don't have brake settings...right? I didn't release the brakes. I tried turning the canopy out of the twists. For what it's worth, pretty sure I turned it the wrong way. my pics & stuff!
  7. This was mine. As Joe said, precision main w/ no brake settings. My attempt was pulling down one of the toggles to turn the canopy out of the twists....fail. I've had the student kick with me in past similar issues and it helped. This time no such luck. When your back is stuck in the wind.....it's really hard to get the momentum going. The comment of sticking your leg out....I'm lost on that. Not really gonna work with your back to the wind. I also worked the twists all the way down as far as I could go and no such luck there. I'm open to ideas since I've shown you I didn't do it right. One thought is maybe pull both toggles to slow the forward speed...reducing the air flow that's keeping us back to the wind (basically de-arched). Then kick like a mofo. Oh, and gotta agree w/ Peek. The dangling toggles were sketchy and was on my mind. They did eventually work their way back up but I did notice that and didn't like it. Kudo's to the student....awesome video. my pics & stuff!
  8. Gotta love the big lens. my pics & stuff!
  9. That's awesome to hear. I have a buddy (JR Jones, hunt him down on facebook) that has over 200 jumps and has CP. He stopped jumping due to muscle issues I think but he loved it too. He only did tandems and from what I understand he has a restricted A license as well. http://www.linestretch.net/published/slides/JR-200%20001.html http://www.linestretch.net/published/slides/no-sharpAll-Above%20060.html http://www.linestretch.net/published/slides/JR-200%20008.html my pics & stuff!
  10. I had surgery for this and it was a good 2 weeks if I recall until I jumped. my pics & stuff!
  11. I had the sinus cavity drill done and didn't jump for a couple of weeks afterwards....and am glad I didn't. I was told that if the inside of the nose where work was done....rips from the wind, you're setting yourself up for infection and a longer recovery time. A couple of weeks isn't that bad, especially since it's not summer yet. It makes sense to me. I was even told NOT to sneeze if I could due to the same problems. my pics & stuff!
  12. Here's a few from last weekend... this one... & this one... & this one... & this one... The last 3 were shot with a 135mm fixed lens @ around 3.5f. The siting w/ the ring sight took a couple of attempts but the results were pretty sweet. The pictures on the website don't do justice for the clarity. my pics & stuff!
  13. mine is pretty tight around the waist which prevents it from running up, like an untucked t-shirt. Maybe jump it a few times and see if it works for youU? my pics & stuff!
  14. Nice steep shots. I like the no contact one. my pics & stuff!
  15. Correct me if I'm wrong but an SLR will have a mirror. These aren't SLR's right? They made (I know of a canon one anyway) that the mirror didn't move, it was transparent and the film was basically looking through the mirror. Just one less moving part and the camera was very quiet. The problem with that was that any crap on the mirror was now seen on the film. The camera's you are talking about, how does the eye piece work? Is it just like a video camera, you're looking a screen rather than actually looking thru the lens? my pics & stuff!
  16. I was very bummed to hear about this as well. It's been a few years since we met but he for sure left a positive impression with me. Donny swooping Donny swooping again Donny tube Donny tube again my pics & stuff!
  17. It should, I just watched it again here at work and that's what we have. my pics & stuff!
  18. That video is pretty bad ass. I love that you can pan around during the whole ordeal. my pics & stuff!
  19. Yeah, that's a crazy one. We built the 142 way...but the paperwork that was submitted to the judges showed a couple of stingers in one orientation but they were facing another direction in the video. A communication error so to speak. I don't know all the details but am pretty sure that's the basics of it. my pics & stuff!
  20. Though stressful at times, I had a great experience with it and am so proud of everyone that was a part of the bigger state record and the smaller world record. Good job to everyone that was a part of this. Thanx!!!!!!!! my pics & stuff!
  21. agreed, thanx for the info. my pics & stuff!
  22. I'm still missing something. I can't seem to get the same dialogue box you have. I started by clicking the mainconept avc/aac, the sony tablet 720p...then customize template. Is that correct? But custom settings aren't the same. It sucks not knowing what the fuck you're doing.....argh!!! my pics & stuff!
  23. Thanx a bunch. Not worried about it playing back on the gopro, no biggy there. my pics & stuff!
  24. It's the r3 setting on the hero. The camera says that's 720p @ 60fps. Is that what you were looking for? Thanx for the help. my pics & stuff!
  25. That's the problem, nothing showed as the same as the gopro (the = sign). With what's shown in your screenshot, are you choosing internet HD 1080p? my pics & stuff!
