  1. Well Tom first of all congratulations you have once again resorted to the anger you still hold from quitting. I have done nothing wrong to you and I will sign the petition. I have done as many tandems as you and have enough experience to have an opinion so go easy on telling me to shut up. We were friends we got our AFF ratings together hung out and then you quit and evrersince then you have some beef. Don't get aggressive on a forum at me. You wanted the guys rattings pulled and now you are all for a petition that's a little backward don't you think? Anyway stop stabbing at me on this forum pm me, call me or hell, you know where I live grow up..... and by the way did you not read the forum when I said it was a bad move and did you read my post when I told makeithappen that I did say something to the guy do a little research back through the thread before attacking. Like I said pm me or something with the personal stuff this thread is not for your attacks. Share Everything !!!
  2. I agree that they went too far. This is total BS any skydiver knows that every DZ has s*#t happen that's not so safe but where are the USPA on that stuff. But the fact that some jackoffs can loosly fit TM harness's and have students fall to their DEATH and still have a RATING is just amazing. Do these people have something against the english??? Videos of idiots throwing drogues in a state of panic and having bridal hanging out everywhere or swiping across a students face just seems to get the old awww that was close. What about some of the TM instructors that can't land or fly a damn canopy. YOU PEOPLE MAKE ME SICK you can't just pull one guys ratings and slip back under the rug you people don't regulate S*#T it's harder to become a US postal worker than to become an instructor in this country and the mail man isn't responsible for anyones god damn LIFE... 3. It's what I most disliked about my instructors that inspired me to be better. Thats a cool statement I remember my instructors being my heros until doing something in the air no one else liked. As for getting an AFF rating as part of a bet, It probably isn't the best thing. Take your time mate, enjoy the sport and as an AFF instructor, let me tell you that an AFF rating is a privilage with lots of responsibilty, remember you will be teaching the next generation of skydivers. The best gift skydiving can give you is experience and the more you have the better you can guide the next generation. Good luck mate. Scotty Share Everything !!!
  4. It's nice to see an A license jumper backing this up. My biggest beef with teaching AFF is stressing the importance of seatbelts and helmets in groundschool and later boarding the aircraft to see EXPERIENCED jumpers laying back laughing and talking with no helmet on and no seatbelt on and having to remind them to put them on. I also think that all helmets should be on as I have been smacked in the ribs by a camera helmet that was attatched to a chest strap as it swung around during turbulence. Edited to add. When I started doing camera I to used to go for that awsome take off shot, until someone told me about an otter going in, the authorities found 22 strands of DNA on a camera helmet. Sorry I don't have details but I have never forgoten the word DNA assotiated w/ skydiving. Share Everything !!!
  5. Wow this is much better. I really agree with you, although I don't do TM's as of a month ago I have done them. Also I have about 900 camera jumps and have seen this happen to the same TI's over and over like you said. Also the comment about the old days being arch out of everything is a very true statement. I never really arched out the door, I liked to go more on the feeling and the visual. I always found that no matter how much you train you never really know what your going to get outside the plane. So I found that just presenting and staying relaxed made me much better at dealing with what came to me on a TM exit. Peace Scotty. Share Everything !!!
  6. Well said, I knew the TI to be a great guy and a damn good instructor. Share Everything !!!
  7. Yo Tom...There was no agression. I just saw an angry pattern forming and would hope someone would defend me if I was ripped apart publically. We're family yo. Also, I understand that a certain person was just doing their job, but like I stated they had lots of videos and pics on their first post. Joining the which hunt was not necessary. Peace. 8. Dear Jan, With all due respect...you are the authorities...and with the comments and videos you have attached, I believe that you have plenty of knowlege regarding this topic. I don't believe that this is the place for your investigation. And I will not publicly engage in this debate any more. Peace, love, unity and all that good stuff. Blue skies, Scotty P.S. By the way, the word "c#nt" is purely farmiliar and not hostile (at least where I am from) Share Everything !!!
  9. Ha Ha, Skydiving should be a religion, the world would be a better place. Share Everything !!!
  10. Let me clarify...What I was trying to say was that higher ups have said naught (as you ascertained) when learning of this previously. I'm not going into the details of who, when, where, and why, becuase frankly it's not my place. Hence, the problem is deeper than the individual and may be evidence of a larger problem with the community. It's interesting to me that the forum itself brought this situation to light, when other agencies have not afforded this attention in the past. However, I do believe that this is now being dealt with by said agencies and should be left to them, not to the building angry mobs. Beyond that mate, what I want to say is that I've said my peace (and so has every other c#nt). In all, the situation was brought to a forum--discussed--analyzed--behavior was changed--and authorities brought into the matter. It is now being dealt with by the people who have made it their careers to deal with these matters. If that is your lot in life (which I am guessing it may be) then great. Get busy. Educate the public. And change our system of checks and balances. But personally, I do not think tearing a person to shreds on a forum is the best way of dealing with the situation. It is difficult to see someone you know being ripped apart publicly, especially when you feel as though they are being held up as the scapegoat (as many, in many different arenas, and levels, of the skydiving community have witnessed personally and have done nothing). I do not agree with the vendetta and witch hunt, which I see brewing at the time being. For me, skydiving will always be a supportive community, not a divisive one. I hope your experience is the same. Because its a legendary family. As a member of this family, I feel compelled to speak my peace and stand up for them. Honestly mate, I wish everyone all the best. But I can not take the vibe that's going on now. As some of you may know, I am an Ozzy...and we have a great reputation for saying it like it is. So...to all of the instructors out there wanting to spice up your tandem days...stop f#cking with the industry and DO MORE FUN JUMPS to push the envelope. Blue skies, Scotty Share Everything !!!
  11. First of all yes I did say something and as for the jump numbers the web site is not always kept up to date as I still have 3000 jumps on that page. You seem to be asking me why didn't he have the sense or intelligence, mind set blah blah blah but I am not he so ask him yourself and while your at it why don't you put some info about yourself on your profile like stated before COME OUT OF THE CLOSET. I know for a fact people in the caliber you refer to have seen this and did nothing I was simply stating that some of the blame lies with previous places. You obviously missed the message of my statement and instead propetuate rage and hostility. That's your cross to bare...BLUE SKIES WHO EVER YOU ARE. Share Everything !!!
  12. Well said about the no profile no names bit. Come out of the closet is a fair statement. Share Everything !!!
  13. In response to "is that all you got".... This kind of stuff is just un called for. The common theme of this forum seems to be blood thirsty rants. It seems as though a mob is building and soon we'll be suggesting a lynching. As I said earlier I am not condoning anything, but people are just going in circles with thier aggresion toward this TI. The TI has stopped doing this and is being dealt with by the OFFICIALS in charge. He has made a mistake, corrected it, and is now following the guidelines that have been set forth for him. Three dropzones have allowed this behavior in the past with seemingly no consequences. I'm sure if the TI had been told not to do this earlier, he would have stopped earlier. Maybe some of the blame should lie as well with the various communities that condoned this or turned a blind eye. Instead of earlier discussions on safety and the potential dangerous of these actions, this forum has quickly spiraled into blood thirsty rants. Most posters seem to feel that this guy should be wiped from the USPA entirely. I agree with Ron who stated that the attitude and change of the TI is very important. The ranting comments dishearten me in the sense that they seem to contradict what skydiving is all about...what I have always enjoyed about the sport. Skydivers are a special breed of people. People who above all...stand and believe in their skydiving communities despite their differences and learn from their community. If someone makes a mistake, is sorry, and redeems themselves...then I see no point in crucifying them for it because the community has stepped in before an injury or possible fatality has occurred. It is good that the community brought this forward and the TI has ceased this practice. This is the point of a forum and a skydiving community...not to villify people. Everyone has big brass balls when they are safe at home behind a user name and a computer screen going off on a forum. Instead of spewing hatred, I would hope that we would use this forum as intended...to better practice and rectifying concerns. Finally, I really think that the opinion that this one TI is going to mess with everyone's livelihood is an extreme comment. Now get off the computer and go do a skydive it's the f#*cking weekend. 14. OK I am just giving the facts as I know them. The TI has a total of 15500+ jumps 7500+ of them are TM's. I haven't worked there for a few months as I have a steady job outside of skydiving but when I was there his students loved him and their experience with him along with AFF students. I am not taking any sides but I feel that everyone should know the background facts. Having 1500 TM's myself I will admit that MY lower conectors were ALWAYS snug when I left the plane, but sidespins can happen even when the lowers are tight. Like I said I am not condoning anything or taking sides. But I just feel everyone should know the experience level of the Instructor. By the way some of you posted links to snapshots of the students legs pointing down and making a big deal over it. I have seen on rare occaisions the same thing happen to other TI's with tight lowers and NO there were no incidents at the DZ from him. Share Everything !!!
