  1. Enjoying life, Mike, prepping to move to DC. :)
Rainy day here in San Diego so I logged in here on a whim. Got a kick out of Wendy's thread title. Looks like you, Kennedy & Bill Rehm are still agitating the hell out of left wing wackos. :D

Going to workout then go enjoy the evening. Hope all's well in your world - same for the rest of my old DZ.com friends, even the misguided liberals. Might have to come banter a bit sometime.

    Cheers,

    Vinny

  2. It's a bit early to determine now. Wonder if they're taking bets in Vegas. I picked Palin as McCain's VP candidate months out, but don't think I could pick the Republican candidate this far away. Think they're going to win, as long as they don't run Romney or an absolutely inept campaign like McCain did.

    Few thoughts:

Barbour would be a great choice. Great record in MS. Comparing MS to LA's response to Katrina is just amazing. Tort reform would be a big thing there. Left wing pieces of shit would hate that.

Romney is unelectable. His record on health care in MA would enrage most of the right in light of the recent goat-fuck-stupid debacle thrust upon us.

Gingrich would be interesting. He's been cleared of all the ethics BS the lying liberal coward pieces of shit thrust upon him - unlike former GOV Palin (gotta love that cleavage complaint; can't say the yellow bellied piece of shit that came up with that one ISN'T creative). Outspoken. Been doing conservative circuit around the country.

Jindal. Doing good things in LA - especially given his predecessor. Could surprise us, though. Very bright guy.

Palin. Interesting wild card. Virtual celebrity status. Maligned by the media. She's not as dumb as made out to be, but I'm not sure if she could make it through the primaries and a campaign. VP potential again here.

    Santorum - no chance.

    Ron Paul. Nada.

Could comment further. I think Gingrich, Palin, and Romney are the three front-runners. Gingrich is the best choice among the three. Haley Barbour could run and win. Unlike the aforementioned, he doesn't seem to have been doing the conservative circuit and building up a base. Gingrich has been quietly (sometimes loudly) doing that for some time. He's best positioned and a formidable debater. Romney's unelectable, so my $$ would be on Gingrich with Barbour, Palin, or Jindal as the VP choice. We shall see. Long way off. Current GOP focus should be on 2010. Those serious about 2012 presidential potential should be out helping candidates in those elections. Hoping for a conservative sweep.

  3. I have no recollection of this being taken...but can do that now and I'm sober. At least for a bit. Used to be heavy into martial arts and was a flexible short man.

  4. I climbed it back in 2001. Machame Route. Fantastic trip! Definitely worth doing. If you get the option to take an extra day or couple of hours to acclimate on the Shira Plateau, DO IT! It will make the remainder of the climb more enjoyable.

    Cheers,

  5. Crossfit is awesome. With your sore hip, you might try swimming and yoga until it's better if CF is a bit much.

  6. Those orange marmalade brownies must have been better than I thought some three or four years ago in St. Augustine. :$

A friend told me about this thread - one, like SC, I'd been horridly out of touch with for many reasons. Life has had me quite busy as of late.

Haven't barfed myself into oblivion (yet), though I'm absolutely certain it's one of the current administration's top priorities to make that happen. The tune of Gimn Sovetskogo Soyuza seems to echo in my mind whenever I hear of another misguided initiative they put forth. Brings the taste of bile to the mouth. Can't say I've been this frightened over the future of my country since pre-Reagan times.

I'll try and post here a bit more often. Hope everyone's well. Thanks for the kind words.

    Still a tequila swilling JACKASS

  7. Because not all democrats are fucking idiots - just most of them. They need some fucking idiots from the right to join them to pass bills that are just fucking stupid - like cap and trade or ObamaCare or the card check fiasco.

Hopefully all three die quietly in committee.

  8. Please, by all means old boy, please elaborate.

GeorgiaDon - I desire race to have no place in American law. Period. Racial discrimination is despicable, be it in intent or effect.

  9. I hope she gets a full floor vote in the Senate in a fairly short time period. Any president's nominee deserves a full floor vote. Advice and consent does not equate to obstruct and deny, regardless of which party is in power.

She disappoints me greatly. The Ricci case was clear cut - you either support racial discrimination or you do not. She chose to support racial discrimination. I find that despicable, but that's just me. Many clearly don't - the majority of them cowards who won't admit it under any circumstance.

She'll be confirmed. The GOP has fucked this up from the day after Newt called it like it is on the Judge. They disappoint me as well.

  10. My views on the GM theft...some would call it a bailout; I call it theft of funds from the Treasury...are pretty well known. I fucking hate it and think GWB should be charged with a violation of the misappropriation act for using TARP funds to effect it.

However, a lot of folks are saying bad things about their products. I had a Chevy Cavalier I bought in 1998 and sold in 2008. I had over 375K on that car when I sold it. The Thunderduck, as I affectionately called it, only broke four times in that ten year period. One alternator, two cooling pumps, and one bad spark plug wire. Not too bad, I think, for the amount of miles I put on that sucker.

I'd agree that their products as a general rule of thumb aren't as good, but they did produce some good ones.

On the other hand, I had to rent a Dodge this past week - Dollar was out of Toyotas; I endeavor NEVER to even RENT fucking GM or Chrysler products now - and that was the worst vehicle I've ever driven. Below the PT cruiser even. If that's the quality they put out it's no wonder they got in the shape they did and raped the taxpayer with government collusion. Only a fucking idiot would buy such a vehicle - the parking lot at the DNC was probably full of them.

In all likelihood the sun will be zero Kelvin before I even consider purchasing a GM or Chrysler product, though I would consider a Ford.

Just thinking about the amount of taxpayer $$ spent on this waste sickens me. Clicky Compare it with the budgets of most departments. Or the NSF. Fucking disgusting! [barf] The whole lopsidedness of discretionary spending is disgusting anyway. Too DoD centric. Fucking non-discretionary is even more dis-fucking-gusting.

  12. Recheck your math, Bill. It's far from correct and you know better. 97% of Americans do not have a Federal income tax liability - it's far less than that; not even 50%. It is impossible to give a tax cut to someone who has no tax liability.

The media of course, will never call the left on this chicanery.

  13. SCOTUS got it right on this one. Finally. After Kelo and the recent Chrysler ruling I was beginning to despair. This ruling will have the racists and bigots on the left just up in arms, I'm sure.

  15. Perhaps you should go take a look at timelines yourself. I realize full and well that was Obama's first interview after clinching the primary. As I stated in my post, it was Palin's first interview as well, as she was nominated only a few days prior to its occurrence - a fact you conveniently ignore. I compare first interview with first interview - and the difference is striking, evident, and damning with regards to Mr. Gibson's bias. Ignore that fact as often as you like - a fact it remains. Ignoring facts IS the liberal forte, after all.

For the record, Palin was ill prepped for the national stage by her party. Her interviewing improved dramatically as the campaign went on, but still wasn't as good as her opponent - though her policies are vastly superior.
