  1. I am, see you there birdy PerFlare
  2. Well ... thanks! I guess *smile* PerFlare
  3. No, Do not split, it never works for the users. Maybe for the ones most in to it but for 90% of the users it is just a hassle. Just look what happend to the base board (blinc) ... boards need to be super simple. PerFlare
  4. *smile* You will find Swedes, Icelandic and Aussies there for sure this year :) I usually go to the helicopter boogie every year, that is pretty much the only time I go to Kjerag … the walls up north … some of the valleys looks like a cathedral for a basejumper. Yes the hikes are sometimes long but if you are fit it is not that super hard and some of the hikes are beautiful … like one of the high ones and you reach the summit just when the sun comes up … epic! 5. Hi, I have the same problem. I have about 400 jumps on my v-tec without valves ... I actually send in back after the 20-30 first jumps on it, but it is a feature *smile* Zero winds and landing on payment, ouch! You can ad a extra breakline or the better alternative, put valves in it. Apex and other manufactures retrofit valves. I have more rigs and my v-tec is old so for me it is questionable if it is worth it but if you have a "newer" canopy ... get the money and do it PerFlare

    New fashion :)))

Sorry, did not look at your profile Lika. We have actually met a few times. But anyway, my opinion stands, battle gear are good. PerFlare

    New fashion :)))

I am glad to hear it, fashion or not ... protection is good and you never know when you need it. I guess you are the guy on the picture ... no helmet? I guess you have seen skull injury after wallstrikes too ... I do not always wear my body armour, and I will regret it when I am lying there next time ... So the russian "beginners" community just earned my respect, keep it up, I love your work! PerFlare

    Dead Jaap Pack

Jaap, Kevin, If you do not mind me share some personal thoughts. I am not so sure (is this jump on video?) ... it is possible and even likely but can this be a classic case of a phenomenon that is not too unusual with going stowed with bigger PC's? (Especially bigger ones 42" and up, and with ZP's it is even more likely) with short delays ... Personally I have experienced it a few times but being careful and old as I am I rarely make low jumps and are a big fan of going hand held for various reasons ... The phenomenon I am talking about is underpressure when the mesh is ripped out from a compressed mushroom packed PC ... someone with better English maybe able to describe it, anyone? Tom? Either way, I like the analysis of a likely scenario … good work! PerFlare Ps. The name of the video just made my day, thanks Jaap.
  9. Hi Brittany, I disagree with you. A super hard pitch like you describe (correct me if I am wrong, but that is the way I understand your reply) are sub optimal. There are more concerns then the pitch itself, like body position. I have seen allot of baseball pitches that results in bad body position. I like to throw the pilot chute to bridle stretch, more effort are a waste so I would say, throw your pilot chute to bridle stretch. I teach my students to visualize and practice with that in mind, bridle stretch … make sure to get it out there but do not over do it, no need. PerFlare
  10. 18 secs in that gorge in a wingsuit from 300m ... impressive ... balls to the wall PerFlare
  11. Hi Jason, Did 10 of Kjerag in one day, heli boogie so there are no glory in it am afraid ... Have done 5 when climbing for it, 3 different objects. Another thing ... have climbed over 1000 meter of cold steel in one night :) Lukas was proud over me ;) Stay alive! PerFlare
  12. For me it is easy: Slider down, if I can go handheld I will do so. If not I consider stowed. Slider up, stowed Super low aerials is not for me, can not see the point. PerFlare
  13. Hi, It depends ... what level of risk do you feel comfortable with? Go to http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ and search for a movie called lowpull ... I still jump the same canopy. There are a few things to think about if you jumping a fast moving canopy and are a wingsuiter :) Have fun! PerFlare
  14. Hello, Yes it is possible to get a base pouch on a suit that does not have it to start with ... that's how the first ones got done. Talk to birdman, I am sure you can get it done to your suit to. PerFlare
  15. I am no expert on PCA's but I do it like you show on the pictures. I have seen some, at least for me, strange ways to PC assist ... I rarely do assisted jumps but when I do I make sure to tell the person holding my bridle and PC to do it as you describe. PerFlare
  16. Dark times ... I will see him when I arrive in Valhalla. It will be happy time for me and a sad time for my family ... PerFlare
  17. Jason, I have made one landing in deep water with a wingsuit, screw up and end up in a burble under canopy. Usually when I jump with wings and I have a good chance/risk to end up in water I have a inflatable life jacket under my suit. That is if there is no boat. This time I did have a inflatable life jacket. I think it is hard to swim in the suit as the wings fills with water and it slows you down. I think keeping your head above the water are relatively easy but swimming can be hard. I know one guy ending up in water with a wingsuit and he was lucky enough to have jumpers standing at the waters edge and one of them had to rescue him, I do not know if he was a good swimmer or not. My advise. If you have a boat ... land close to the boat :) If you do not have a boat even with ground crew on the beach and there is a possibility that you end up pretty far out I would have a life jacket. PerFlare
  18. Thanks for the help! PerFlare
  19. I have tried to answer a post over at blinc on a heads up for jumpers in Sweden, I can not post there or even send e-mail to the moderators. Tom or Mick or anyone who can help me can you post this message in that thread ----------------------- Hey, You got mail. PerFlare Swedish BASE Team ----------------------- Thank you. PerFlare
  20. Valhalla is getting stronger. It is a day for celebration in Valhalla and a sad day for us still in this life ... My condolences to his family, dark times it is ... PerFlare
  21. Hey! The Swedish BASE Team are locked and loaded, we will be there :) Can barely wait :) PerFlare
  22. Hi Tom, I agree with something's you say but not with the conclusion you make from your reasoning, my conclusion from your line of reasoning is "there is a good chance but we are not bullet proof" I do not think I ever done a jump and have had ALL the data. It has always been unknown variables, most times pretty small/unlikely as taking in to consideration having a small hesitation or more severe ones like a lineover or having a three ring release or linetwists and things like that. Then add factors as wingsuits or aerials and other stuff you will pretty much jump in a environment full of unknowns :) scary is it not? I believe so, and I get more scared for every year I am in the game :) PerFlare

PerFlare wrote ----------------------------- It is like if I have the newest vented canopy in a brand new rig that I have packed my self and then make all the right decisions I will get out of it alive Faber replied ----------------------------- i tell myself that on each jump whats wrong whith that.. PerFlare replying ----------------------------- I do not say that it is wrong. It is just a strange thing to do if you know that it is not true. It is a little bit like lying to your self and not really accept the consequences of your actions neither to your self or your family and love ones. PerFlare
  24. For a while I have been thinking about this attitude that some of us are expressing. I usually go through the threads and recently Tom's "Poll: Packers for BASE: Good Idea?". The thing is that people really trust their rigs, canopy's and skill to the point that it makes them bulletproof. It is like if I have the newest vented canopy in a brand new rig that I have packed my self and then make all the right decisions I will get out of it alive, I would say it is a good chance of it but I never know. Personally I think the day you decide to be a basejumper nothing is one hundred per cent sure because even if you try to always make the right decision and have top notch gear and training there are some things you just have to more or less need to do a calculate guess about and I am sure that most of us have been in situations that have been out of control and the only thing that made you survive it was pure blind luck. Maybe I have misunderstood something, English are now my first language and sometimes I can not pick up all the nuances in the language. So is there base brothers and base sisters out there that are 100% sure that they do not have a place (pretty much like writing a blank check) on the list ... at least as long as you are a active basejumper? PerFlare
  25. I do not care, it has to be done so I do it :) I have seen a Norwegian guy moving around his unpacked canopy on a packing tarp on a boogie for hours hoping that some rookie would mistaken it for their own gear and then panic to not be packed and pack it for him :) what can I say ... nice try ;) PerFlare
