  1. On a busy day at the DZ doing tandem video and aff, I can do anything form 10-20, the most I have done in a day is 21 and the most in a seven day week was 97 jumps Later Gary Harbird
  2. I was also on that jump @ midnight. Myself and my friend jeremy did a 2 way and were first out @ midnight. It was a pretty cool jump because i turned 21 in freefall, but the clouds could of been a little higher. Swooping over the cars in the landing area at night was awesome, and that flybye was outta this world. Good times So if there where any pics i would love to see them Thanks Gary Harbird
  3. Is skydivingmovies.com down again???
  4. Hey man I jump a velo 84 loaded at 2.3. All I do is count the nose clear the stablizers and and the tail, don't touch anything else, quarter the slider and leave the nose hanging, only put about 3 rolls in the tail or sometimes you get funky trap door, kinda like a tandem. Also the faster you are going the better it opens. I do a lot of tandem video and would slow right down just before pulling, and i would get openings very similar to yours, then my friend Ian Drennan said he had been having great opening from going faster, so i tryed and my openings are 100% better, I have pulled as soon as 2 seconds from getting off my head, lots of speed vertically and also alot of forward speed, but they are the best openings i've had. Hope this is usefull. Later Gary Harbird
  5. Some very nice shots Just wondering what ringsite you are using because some of the pics are not centered. but other wise great stuff. Love the scenery very beautiful Later Gary
  6. So I guess the fact that i just spent $50 on cleanser, toner and moisturizers makes me metrosexual. We're not even gonna go into hair products i could be here all day. Gary
  7. Well I think it was very cool. You guys have to remember it's all about what the public want to hear. Thought there was some great footage and some funny moments. At least he had no objects around him for the 1 year pack job. All around a good show Gary
  8. My progression was stilleto 120 500 jumps FX 104 500 jumps Velocity 84 last 1000 jumps But the FX is nothing compared to the velocity, i think because it was the first crossbraced designed, a bit out of date now. I would look at the, Velocity, VX, XAS 21/27 and even the Sensei, I've heard lots of good thing about the sensei. hope this helps Gary Harbird
  9. OK man my bad glad to hear you have a few more jumps and that you progressed from something fairly small. I Still don't think that you should be using so much toogle input to plane the canopy out. try hooking a little higher. Only ways i'd guess 2.1-2.2 that would put you under velo 96, if you buy another velo. Personally there my favourite of the crossbraced canopies. Ok later Gary
  10. OK a couple of things. I've just looked at you profile and it says you only have 750 jumps, thats a concern because of you high wing loading and also your number of jumps. You are currently wing loading at 2.44. I jump a velocity 84 loaded at 2.3. The professional swoopers are all wing loading at 2.2-2.3. Also saying that you are deep in toggles to plane it out quite alot says to me that you are consistanly turning low. Even a highly loaded crossbraced canopy can be landed on rears or with very little toggle input. i've loaded up to 3.3 and landed on rears. I'm very concerned about someone with your experience jumping this canopy. Who sold it to you, did they ask about your previous canopy experience, weight, and number of jumps, because as a dealer I would never had sold you a canopy that small let alone a velocity or anything crossbrassed. I would seriously think about selling it and buying a stilleto or something around that performance range. Be VERY VERY VERY careful, that you don't hurt or kill yourself. These canopies are very unforgiving. Later Gary Harbird
  11. I don't know what everybody else thinks, but the swoop didn't seem that long, 400ft is a long way, and i don't think that was 400ft. About the missed gate, stop makeing excuses admit you fucked up, and go on with life. Later Gary
  12. With carving I start the carve just before i plane out, because you tend to loss a little altitude. I use a combination of harness and toggle. The most I have ever carved is about 140 degrees, and i just managed to stand it up, but thought i was going down at the time. Attached is a pic of me carving, Haven't quite figured out how to get the end cell on the ground like heath does, but i'm still trying Later Gary

  14. yeah I had a 103 velo in my rs.1 when a friend was jumping my rig. Fitted fine
  15. They pack really big, MASSIVE, I'd guess about 145 - 150 the pack volume should be on the icarus website. icaruscanopies.com If you have any questions just give them an email, they would be pleased to help l8tr Gary
  16. I Won't jump with people who jump stoned, i think it is inapproriate, and unsafe, I knew someone who used to jumped stoned all the time, and he flew like crap, when he started jumping straight, his flying got so much better. Also for instructors it stays in your system for up to 3 months, if something happens the dz takes the coming crap. If people want to smoke outside skydiving thats there thing but please don't smoke and jump. It's unsafe thanks Gary
  17. It all depends on different varialbles. Gusting or steady, dirction, down the run way and steady and i'll keep jumping, velo fly forward in a lot of wind. Gusty and over the trees and i'll stand down. It all depends on the conditions Thanks Gary
  18. Yeah my dad jumps has about 3500 jumps and my mum has about 6 tandems
  19. Yeah a bunch of times mostly because of clouds or wind
  20. BTW: The cutaway at the end was caused by a brake fire. just incase you were wondering Gary

BTW: the problem with the faulty readings has been corrected, you can down load the latest software from there website Via infered port, or send it back to alti 2 and they will update the software free of charge Gary Harbird
