  1. I have many fond memories of JP but the outstanding one was from a couple of years ago when I was getting my tandem rating. On my last jump for my rating JP made me take him so I could get a taste of taking big boys... I'm 5"2" & 120Lbs. It was a very fun jump, Dave Ladreche did video & you could barely see me behind him. I found out later that he had only done 2 tandems ever, one with Connie & one with me. When I heard that I felt very honoured. I will miss you greatly JP
  2. I can't believe the year we've had in Byron! We are just coming up to Shannon's first anniversary & we thought that was bad, then we lost Tom & now J.P. J.P. I am sorry you were in such a place of pain that this was your only way out. It has been a privilege to know you & I enjoyed all the time we spent together. I'll miss listening to your wonderfully funny stories & my thoughts are with your wife & girls. As for everyone else take care of yourselves. Erica
  3. Yet again JP you speak words of wisdom.. it's why we keep you around
  4. Byron aka Bay Area Skydiving is the closest to SF the website is bayareaskydiving.com It's a fun medium sized dz, at the weekends there is a king air all the way to 14,000 ft. There is a couple of organizers at the weekend & they are always very good about looking after new jumpers. Byron is famous for the Byron love so dont show up in a bad mood :) The infamous Byron Boogie is on Oct 13th. Look forward to seeing ya soon Erica

    Fatality in Norway

Coombesy gonna miss ya mate ! I'll never forget those beautiful smiling eyes of yours There is alot of people mourning you right now.... fly free Love Erica
  6. Things have changed a bit since then.. it's all about work now & there are 3 dz's This is my 3rd summer here, it's fine for work but not so fun jumper friendly any more.. luckily I get to spend the other have of the year in the most fun jumper friendly dz in the world.... Byron CA :)
  7. check out ww.nzpf.org That will give you a list of all the dz's, you have to pay membership of $75 before you are allowed jump at any dz here. you've got to remember NZ is a small country(population 4 million) & it'll be the middle of winter so don't expect too much. It's only due to adventure tourism that they have so much skydiving.. but I can recommend Skydive Auckland (located just south of Auckland in a town called Mercer) or Skydive Abel Tasman on the south island near Nelson, they're annual boogie is in August. They would be the the best real dz's here. Never been to Christchurch but they are probably worth a visit too. Taupo (central North Island)has 3 dz's but they are all tandem operations & fun jumpers are just about tolerated.. worth a jump or 2 for the view but no fun jumping scene really. However NZ is a great country with lots of stuff to do so you won't be bored :) Erica
  8. I did boston to sacremento in 3 days with a 10 hour detour to minneapolis to see a friend for dinner & 3 months later ( those 3 months included a couple of trips from lodi to perris ) perris back to boston. Road trips are fun Erica
  9. Between nov 5th & dec 14th I did 19,556 mile by air & a couple of bus & train trip too.. the itinerary was San Fran-bahama's-dc-nyc-boston-dublin-eindhoven-amsterdam-dublin-lax-auckland... taking 6 weeks to do 20000 is the way to do it. the most painful journey was Brisbane - Seoul - nyc - orlando, 12,606 miles, 26 hours & many degrees of sanity lost. It once took 22 hrs to get from Dublin to Orlando (direct flight just about 7 hrs) but if ya fly through the mid west in dec ya get snowed in :) all for the sake of saving a few bucks! Happy flying !
  10. This might be a little unknown fact but the population of Eire (the Republic of Ireland) is only 3.7 million .. so not that many really. There might be a few more out there who weren't born in Ireland but qualify for Irish passports but I imagine that would just tip us over the 4 million mark.
  11. if you haven't traveled & dont skydive how do you know, to use a term I hate, if minoirites skydive or not? And what is a minority in your eyes? I'm Irish am I a minority? I skydive & I know quite a few Irish people who do. Veiwing people as a minority is geography... I being Irish, am a minority here in the states but I'm not when I'm at home in Ireland as a member of planet earth that makes no sense to me! I have travelled alot as a skydiver & as a non skydiver.. I highly recommend the adventure of travel, it opens your horizons & makes you realise there are no minorities just plain old human beings... billions of us, alot more similar than we'd like to admit. So Crotch my question to you is when are you going to join us in our global skydiving extravaganza? Erica
