  1. I second that. I'm gonna go get another cup of coffee, stand in the middle of the office, and raise it to you Bolas and Bubbles! This totally made my day! Damn, where's UnchainedDog (or whatever name he's using now) when you need him. He could just about make today perfect for me!!! Jeff Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!
  2. Now why'd you go and group me with that asshole? Fucking classic btw. LOL, I should have included Buried in there as well! It's definitely a good one, but not as classic as the time her new boyfriend just happened to find very graphic pictures of her cheating on him with me. Ya know, that story is worth reposting. I think I'm gonna have to dig that one up! Watch for it in the next day or two. Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!
  3. Ok, with all the excitement in the now deleted thread, I have to post my story. This happened about two years ago. A friend of mine gave me these fake lotto tickets. You know, the ones that you scratch off, and they say you've won $50,000. A stack of them were sitting on the passenger seat of my SUV when my girlfriend opened the door and got in. Now some background on the GF. We had just recently broken up, but were still kind of seeing each other. She constantly had money issues, had horrible credit, and basically lived paycheck to paycheck. She came from a pretty poor upbringing as well, so $50,000 was a life altering amount of money to her. So as soon as she asks about the lotto tickets, the gears in my mind start turning, and I tell her, 'go ahead and take one, maybe you're luck is better than mine, I've scratched off dozens of those things and haven't won a thing'. I figure she'll scratch it off right there, and I'll get a good laugh. Well, we start having a heart to heart conversation, and we both forget about the lotto ticket. My cell kept ringing when we were talking, so I turned it off and forgot to turn it back on. So she gets in her car and leaves, and I head home. A few hours later, I realize my cell is off, so I turn it back on to make a call. Low and behold, I have about 8 new messages. I check the messages, and hear her excited voice saying she won $50,000 from that ticket. I kind of chuckle, and listen to the next message. Now I hear her entire family in the background, just as excited as she is. Turns out she told her mom and dad, sisters, daughter, friends, and she even called her ex-husband to rub it in his face. Relatives and friends were even calling their relatives and friends... So, realizing I'm totally screwed at this point, I decide do have fun with this. So I call her and congratulate her, asking her what she's going to do with the money, etc. After about 5 minutes of hearing about how this is going to change her life, and how this is the best thing that's every happened to her, I ask her what it says about redeeming it... So she turns the card over, and reads outloud something to the effect of, 'Winning tickets only valid in the North Pole. Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny must be present to win... bla bla'. She's still so excited, she doesn't even realize what she just read. I start laughing, and ask her 'Easter Bunny and Santa Clause?!'; silence at the other end of the phone. It finally registered, and she starts crying. "I gotta go..." [click] Ooops! I know Funks and Wildcard can appreciate this! BTW, don't ask how I know, but those fake lotto tickets are unimaginable fun in bars! Just leave it on the bar, then stand back and watch. Hours of fun, I tell ya! Jeff Shhh... you hear that sound? 4. Leave your 'guy card' at the door, you candy ass! Careful you don't get any wrinkles in your skirt!! Let me try rewording this. To every woman whose day won’t be filled with roses, chocolates, and giant stuffed animals; to every woman for whom nobody has prepared a home cooked meal or made a dinner reservation at her favorite restaurant; and to every woman who won’t be staring across a glass of champagne into the eyes of someone special: Know that you could have some sucker spend all that money on you too, if you'd spread your legs! I've timed my relationships perfectly lately! Didn't have to buy a Christmas present OR a Valentines Day gift! Well guys, looks like we're in the clear 'till Christmas rolls back around. Time to start dating again! Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!
  5. We had a blast with you guys too! Good times, good times! Thanks for the pic! Jeff Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!
  6. VERY nice Matt! Good seeing you again, as always!
  7. Yes!!!! Thank you so much! I owe you a Medalla next time I see you! How perfect was Saturday afternoon? You two jumping onto that beautiful beach, with perfect weather.... then you had to ruin it by going and getting married! It's ok, Ward and I didn't want to get on the load anyway! Seriously though, congratulations! Looking forward to seeing you two again soon!
  8. I'll second that! Kick ass boogie! As Jimmy T. would say, 'Demasiado!!!!!' You had to be there.... I'm marking my calendar for next year. Very smooth running boogie, great weather, and beautiful scenery. Oh yeah, lots of beautiful Puerto Rican women, too! Here are a few pics - not much of skydiving, my dumb ass forgot to pack my bite switch. http://picasaweb.google.com/ccie12190/PuertoRico2007 Jeff Shhh... you hear that sound? 10. My pic was send to ladyflyer77 a couple days ago, so I'm in too. I guess she didn't pass it along - I'll send it to you as well. J Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!
  11. With all the animal attacks in the past years, I've thought about what I would do in that situation. I always figured, I'd go for the animals throat while kneeing/kicking it's ribs, then proceed to smash a hole in the concrete with it's head. Reading that the dog was able to 'shake free' has me wondering... See, everybody should carry a firearm to protect themselves from both two and four legged predators!! Shhh... you hear that sound? 12. West Palm Beach is probably going to be your best bet. They have some pretty cool wreck and drift dives. The Princess Ann is a cargo ship who's top deck is at ~35', and the prop is just over 90' if I recall, so it's a cool dive for all levels. They have a few other cool spots as well. Lots to see there. The water doesn't really start to look like travel brochures until you're well wouth of Daytona. Keep in mind, that even though this is Florida, the water is still pretty cool this time of year. You're going to need a pretty thick suit to keep warm. Not exactly sure what the water temp is, my candy ass doesn't do cold water diving anymore. J Shhh... you hear that sound? 14. Hell yeah! If you're there, I'll definitely take you up on that. Maybe I'll see you sooner (Sebastion this weekend?) Anyway, I knew the canopy recovery arc is the same, regardless of wind, and now that you mention it, what you're saying makes complete sense. Wierd getting used to the 'illusions' when swooping different conditions! Jeff Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!
  15. I'm still going through therapy. I shower 3 or 4 times a day, but I still feel dirty. I guess I need to face my molester to get past this. J Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!
  16. Since I'm competing in the CPC this year, I decided to try a downwinder to practice my sliding in on my butt - never done it before (I know... beer). It was 15 gusting to 20, so it was a pretty strong wind. Hop n pop, no other canopies in the pattern or landing area. I've done quite a few downwinders in the past, but nothing near this strong. This was a HUGE learning experience, to say the least. It's been a while since I've learned so much in a single swoop. I agree that everybody wanting to improve their canopy skills should try a downwinder in a controlled environment. What did I learn? Setting up for a 270, the wind is a crosswind. This push put me much closer to the gates than I estimated. Although my upwind setups are pretty good, I definitely need more experience/practice with downwind setups. The downwind push seems to make verticle error even more pronounced. 10' too high, translates into ALOT of horizontal distance. I almost ran out of landing area. 10' too low, and we all know what the extra speed would do on impact. The 'window' for a good swoop is greatly reduced - the setup better be perfect. Sight picture is different. Downwind requires more rear riser and toggle input, I assume because the airspeed is reduced. These are my perceptions anyway. Just wanted to share my support for grue and my new experience as well. Advice and comments welcome. Jeff Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!
  17. Awww, man... you mean Jairo's gonna be there? Pfffttt.... I'm not goin' then... Jeff Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!
  18. I ate a rice cake with peanut butter on it, a glass of OJ, and a vitamin for breakfast. Once I get back in the gym, it'll be a protein shake with a scoop of creatine on top of regular food. Problem with snacks is, I'll snack all day if it's handy. One of the sales girls in the office told me I was cranky, and gave me a cookie. I'm already cheating on day 1! Guess I'm gonna have to get a little more regimented in this diet thing... Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!
  19. I'm in too. I'll try to take pics tonight or tomorrow. Already started this diet thing. For the first time in years, raw cookie dough and pizza is not part of my daily diet. Brought Lean Couisine's for lunch this week. I ate one, but the other three are lookin' pretty damn good right now. My stomach is growling, and I just ate 30 mins ago. This is gonna suck.... 20. In the interest of those of us that would like some chance of getting laid over the next three months, how about you post the 'before' pics at the same time as the 'after' pics? Besides, not only would you get more competitors, it'll be more motivational that way. J Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!
  21. I'd rather hang out here with the ladies!
  22. Hmmm. Alright, if Kenz is in, I'm in too. Is this a 'most improved' competition, or how is it being evaluated? J Shhh... you hear that sound? That's the sound of nobody caring!
  23. I don't have the itemized list, but a few years ago I put myself in the corner, and consequently the ER for 6 or 7 hours, to the tune of just over $6,000. Limped out with a torn miniscus in both knees, sublexed shoulder, and a broken rib. Not the worst of injuries, all things considered. Cost doesn't include follow up MRI, doctors visits to drain fluid from my knees, or upcoming surgery to repair my shoulder. I have no idea how much that's gonna cost, but I'm sure it won't be cheap.... Financially it only cost me about $300; thanks to good insurance. Unfortunately I've had to give up alot of other things I enjoyed in life as a result of the injuries. I used to be big into rock climbing (lead climbing), but with a shoulder that periodically dislocates itself, I've had to hang that up. I used to play alot of extracuricular sports, but now I can barely throw a football or softball, and running more than a few miles has the knees aching for days. Doctor says surgery will improve my shoulder, but it'll never be 100%. My knees can't be fixed. Lots of lessons learned, but nothing that hasn't already been mentioned (repeatedly) in this forum. 24. I took a bunch of pictures out in Eloy during the Holiday boogie. Just playing with the camera, seeing what works and doesn't in shooting swoop pics. Some pics are good, some aren't - you get what you pay for. Feel free to copy them for your personal use/enjoyment. PM me if there's one you really like, and I'll email you the full image. If you're going to repost/publish them, please give credit... don't think that's asking too much. http://picasaweb.google.com/ccie12190/HolidayBoogie2006 Jeff edit to correct URL. DOH! DLP or Plasma

I researched for a while, and decided to go with a flat LCD as well, instead of Plasma. http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-6463_7-5023901-3.html Also, people told me that around superbowl time, stores offer discounts on TV's, but I don't recall seeing any price difference when I bought mine last year.
