  1. New Topic, Marine Park drop zone. Plausible? And... Go
  2. What would you ask Lars Larson? He's still doing syndicated radio out of Portland.
  3. The NatGeo doc "the skyjacker that got away" I did find internal marketing and sales reports for Raliegh Cigarettes, but no customer profiles.
  4. There was a Cooper documentary that said Larry Carr found a consumer profile of Bourbon and 7up drinkers. At the time I tried to find that profile but I've never been able to find it or anything similar, nor have I seen it in the FBI files. Perhaps we should ask Larry about it on FB.
  5. Meaningless even if true. And it probably is true, any active skydiver at the time would probably know of Cossey who was a world champion competitor, and was a licensed rigger in the state Reca was in. Regardless, knowing Cossey means nothing. Lots of people knew Cossey.
  6. The Reca people haven't even bothered to buy an old parachute and plant it in their dropzone, how are we to take them seriously?
  7. Can we focus on the timing of the jump? Invoking Reca's name fouls the thread...
  8. I see what you are seeing, the tiniest hint of a mark. I doubt it's anything, way too subtle a mark, but we'd need to look at the real map itself to be sure.
  9. Looks like the mark for Evergreen Field, now defunct. Hard to tell.
  10. Maybe we can work on the timing of the jump for a week or so? Maybe drop the flight path for a few days...
  11. I found a few different color schemes for military chutes. White, orange white, and the quad color (green, brown, white and orange)
  12. It was right after he completed pilot training, Summer 68 I believe.
  13. Just an aside, my coauthor (and father) went to the airborne school at Fort Benning and said he would have felt comfortable performing Cooper's jump with what we thought at the time was an NB6 or 8 with a 26 or 28 foot canopy. While paratroopers jump static, they occasionally have to be ready for a canopy failure and deploy their reserves in freefall. My father felt that Cooper planned his jump in line with airborne training. I would, of course, love to hear opinions from other military paratroopers from that era.
  14. In February of last year I became a father fornthe first time, so I haven't had much time for Mr. Cooper
  15. Maybe Macron can negotiate a peace treaty here...
  16. What? Then we still don't know who EHS is? And where did Catalano come from?
  17. My father's work tie with ALPA pin. Note the damage caused by the pin to the tie, caused by the second little spike on the back that prevents rotation. The pin was also stuck to the tie, possibly from oxidation. My opinion is the hole in Cooper's tie was caused by such a pin (not necessarily an ALPA pin). [Now that I look, there's actually some adhesive that stuck to the tie. The adhesive that attaches the needle to the tie pin]
  18. Mine, this was shortly after publishing
  19. Someone on Reddit challenged me on this, so here is a screengrab of one of the comments from a McCoy relative who was claiming RFM was cooper circa Feb 2017.
  20. On the Grimerica podcast it was claimed that none of the witnesses ID'd McCoy, however this is untrue:
  21. Can we get a complete accounting of all the 302s dealing with the parachutes? I'm especially looking for info on the serial numbers. I'm looking to update my book in the coming 18 months, so I'd like everything rock solid. Where do we see SN 60-9707 and SN 226?
  22. Regarding the Rodeway Inn letter, I can run the letter against Jo's writing through some stylometry software. That will tell us if she wrote it (which I doubt, it doesn't sound like her).
  23. FYI, We're officially calling this person the "Rodeway Inn Road Warrior"
  24. Jo's emails (ca 2017) about this are hard to understand, it appears like she had access to the letter as she reproduces the verbiage perfectly in some areas. However it doesn't appear as she completely understood the letters contents. (eg she talks about needing an ID to check in when the letter explicitly states otherwise).
