  1. Bro, just a pair of flexvision googles or similar work great ($12 bucks). Or just make sure they are tight. What kind of expensive googles are you talking about? I've never had issues with Liquid eyewear, gatorz or oakleys secured with crookies moving up either. I do keep a pair of flexvisions in my jumpsuit for those late afternoon jumps where clear googles work better. Blue Ones, -Trunk HYPOXIC
  2. With the gopro turned on plug it into the computer. Open up windows explorer and see if a new drive shows up. If not Go to start->control panel->system->Device Manager Right click and select scan for new hardware devices. See if something shows up. Expand "Disk drives" and see if the go pro shows up there. It'll come up as "AMBA Storage USB Device" If no drive letter shows up in windows explorer there is probably another drive letter assigned to the one the drive would like. I've seen this before a few times on different devices. Right click on properties of the mentioned device, and select volume. Select populate. See if a drive letter shows in there. Try manually running that drive letter. Example: 'H' drive. Hit 'Windows key'+'R' type in "h:" and hit run. See if it comes up. If not goto control panel->administrative tools and select computer management. Mine is currently not loading up but I believe it's drive management or something. From there select the volume that does not have a drive letter assigned to it and select properties and give it a drive letter. If it's working on a MAC it means the HID layer is working correctly and its just a matter of something mis-configured on your PC. Hope this helps. Perhaps search online for how to trouble shoot a harddrive/sd card that is not showing up on Windows 7. Blue Ones, Trunk HYPOXIC
  3. I've taken a ton of these mounts off. I just use a small flat head screw diver under a corner (between the helmet and the adhesive) and pry it off slowly. It comes right off and it you do it gently there is no scrapes on your helmet. As for residue left over I don't think I've ever seen gunk left, but I use 90% isopropanol alcohol for everything (find at electronics stores) -Trunk HYPOXIC
  4. This video shows the form factor that the lcd backpack and the 3d sync cable is going to be in. Fox News article on Go Pro 3d HYPOXIC
  5. Just a bit to add to this thread. I got an email from them the other day concerning the 3d kit, "as of now we're looking at a Feb or March release date." Since they have been talking about the LCD Bacpac since they released the GoPro HD I'm not holding my breath. I'm kinda inclined to think its a patent issue since the patent involving the bacpac, etc is still pending. On another note, it's very unlikely that I will be able to do anything before this release date or at least the next firmware update. A little detective work uncovered that both the 3D sync and the LCD Bacpac features are currently turned off in the latest firmware update. I've uncovered a bunch, but right now, it seems they are not even done developing. -Trunk HYPOXIC
  6. Most people using gopro's have at one time got a SOS error. This is normally recoverable by just placing the card back in the camera and allowing the camera to "Finalize" the footage. However, if you place the card in another camera or the camera is destroyed, you are not able to finalize the footage. That was the case until someone came out with the below utility. I've tried this on some corrupt junk day footage and it works great. The utility does not fix the audio track, but for us that is generally fine. Enjoy: Go Pro MP4 repair utility This is for a PC only and you'll have to install PERL. The recovered file may only work in VLC and you're editing software. So you will want to re-encode it after the process. It seems its a readable file after the fix, but its not 100% compliant. Thx, -Trunk HYPOXIC
  7. There are 3 things that I typically recommend: 1) Now with the new firmware, update it 2) tweak the battery terminals a bit to give them more "grip" during high vibrations causing it to cycle out power. 3) Place a piece of foam between where the SD card resides and the case to ensure it stays properly seated. -Trunk HYPOXIC
  8. I really liked my lasik. I was back and doing video within a month and have not had to use eye drops since the first couple of weeks. I've seen way too many people skydiving after PRK having to use eyedrops after every jump (even after a year) and constantly complaining about dry eyes etc. PRK seems to take longer to "heal" than lasik (especially intralase). After 2 weeks of having intralase cut the flap, the Dr. said he would have a really hard time pulling the flap back up. The newer methods of cutting the flap seem to almost create a velcro like cut, when the flap is dropped back down it almost snaps into place. Lasik facilities like you have gone to in big cities around the country are doing 100's of thousand procedures a day with the newest technology. PRK is a relatively old technology (hence why the military still does it). I wouldn't worry about your procedure, I had mine three or so years ago and have not had a single issue after tons of hours of tunnel and many skydives (including extremely hard openings (almost cracking my neck), wearing a 15lb helmet, and getting knocked every once in a while by someone). Not to mention hitting the wall in the tunnel, 180ft scuba dives, aerobatic paragliding moves, and normal Trunk drunken nights of debauchery. It seems that Peregrinerose only does PRK hence what she knows. I hate to go against a professional, but a professional should know how many thousands of skydivers, paragliders, aerobatic pilots have gotten lasik and are extremely happy with it. -Trunk HYPOXIC
  9. Yep, Canadian customs sometimes blows. Sorry about the delay. HYPOXIC
  10. You just need any 1/4-20 bolt or thumbscrew (length dependent upon thickness of L bracket). Probably can pick one up at the hardware store no problems. I also suggest getting a velcro hand strap or comparable strap to keep the screen closed. A piece of rubber or cork underneath the camera also prevents it from spinning around. Don't overtighten the thumbscrew on these cameras as they are not as durable as they once were. -Trunk HYPOXIC
  11. Just like FAST said but if you have it recording to a memory stick, just take that out, ensure its dry and plug it directly into a card reader to get your footage. Last time my camera took a plunge I took the external plastic case off and dried it with compressed air. Any particulate residue I got rid of with a cotton swab and 90% isopropanol alcohol. Worked great. I don't know how I feel about dropping the whole camera in distilled water since it does have a LCD, lenses, imager, and speakers that typically don't go through a washing process during manufacturing. The only crappy thing was the camera did not catch the actual impact with the water. Looks like it buffers up footage then writes it to the card every x ms. All this means is you may get the footage of the camera falling to the new river, but you may not get it actually hitting the new river. HYPOXIC
  12. Best way to contact me this summer is via email. If you need a LED replacement just send an email to franke(at)gethypoxic.com with your ship to address and that you need an LED and we'll get one out to you quickly. I've made a change in manufacturing that should prevent the leads from vibrating off in the new LED cables. If you have questions for me please email me at [email protected]. This is the best way to contact me this summer as I'm on the boogie circuit and rarely next to my phone. With that said, if you need one and have a friend at couch freaks I will happily give them a replacement. Blue Ones and sorry for the inconvenience. -Trunk HYPOXIC
  13. Sorry I have not been on DZ.com in a long time. The mode appeared to be in photo mode since it was taking a still pictures (red light blinks) when it was clicked. If you are accidentally get into the wrong mode all the time, perhaps the push button is not quite seated properly anymore and badly debouncing. Email me and we should be able to sort it out. I haven't looked into making a separate product since my dealers would have to stock both versions. Perhaps just make a method to "lock out" all additional functions? Thx, -Trunk HYPOXIC
  14. Be on the lookout for HYPOXIC at you're favorite summer boogie! I'll be on the road giving seminars, talking cameras, shooting a bunch, fixing things, showing off various manufacturers products, designing, etc. Basically realized I could work out of a RV just as well as I could work out of my "office" so might as well! Hope to finally meet you all in person. Our blog is located at: SkydivingBoogie.com All the dates are not yet finalized so check back often. -Trunk HYPOXIC
  15. Hopefully this fixes the issues with editing contour camera footage "Fixed field order in reader for certain H.264 files." And this one blew to find when it happend to us: "Corrected a problem that could cause black frames in MOV files after installing the QuickTime 7.6.6 update." HYPOXIC
  16. They are enroute from our contract manufacturer. Major dealers (Para-gear, Cookie, Chuting Star and Tonfly) have drop shipments going directly to them. Other dealer's orders will be shipped out next week from us in FIFO order. Dealers that recently ordered may need to wait another week or so until the second shipment is processed. -Trunk HYPOXIC
  17. I have a lens kit, just haven't tried it since all mine are out on loan. my guess is it's not going to be able to focus through it. It's only meant for filters... plus u got a wide angle going through another wide angle lens. But u never know. On another note if u switch to low res it is significantly wider. HYPOXIC
  18. That's f'n cool... Makes a $500 look like a prime zeiss lens. Bad ass. HYPOXIC
  19. Yep, that is the only difference I have seen. 16GB internal vs. having to purchase a 16GB card. I went with the 150 since it was cheaper than buying another 16GB card. Hell, I can't remember the last time I unloaded any of my cards HYPOXIC
  20. Tonfly just released their CX150/CX110 box http://www.tonfly.com/Accessories_500967.html HYPOXIC
  21. Rhys, Thank you for the feedback. We have seen a bunch with handicams that have broken the LED display but very few with helmets. We have located the issue and fixed it on the latest lot coming from manufacturing. I have always replaced the LEDs for free if any of our customers let me know. -Trunk HYPOXIC
  22. Dude you're next to two tunnels. Tunnel is the easiest, best, and over long term cheapest way to properly learn to sit. Trust me, if you choose to learn it via the tunnel progression, you'll be so much happier in the long run. I wish I did. Right now you're just learning bad habits that will cost thousands more to break in a couple years when you want to get on bigger ways, sequentials and VFS. Oh and I'm not a tunnel instructor or anything, just wish someone stressed to me the importance of good coaching early on. HYPOXIC
  23. Sorry bro manufacturing is taking longer than expected. You can try B&H or just look down my dealer list. Hypeye D Pro dealers If you go to the HYPEYE D PRO page you can submit your email address and you'll get notified as soon as it becomes available. Thank You, -Trunk HYPOXIC
  24. Skymama, I've known you've seen it Bunnies Game Explained You know how boogies often ship in really good load organizers and such. I think they should start shipping in really good skydiving party organizers..... hmmm, Hypoxic's new business path... HYPOXIC
  25. The best games tend to be the old classics. We do really well with limbo and dance offs. I tend to add most creative use of Hypoxic Stickers at big boogies. Floridians love their Bunnies. Side goofy games of mustaches tend to take a life of their own. Photo scavenger hunts are always fun. Bags are a good standbye. College drinking games such as beer pong work well. Samari is a fun one for weather holds. Oh and Swoop and Chugs are always a great way to end the day. It really depends on the group of people. The best "games" are those that start out early in the day and take a life of their own. I rarely seen a pushed game work well. What boogie you talking about? You need some professional help? HYPOXIC
