I follow a Sprint Marketing Exec on Twitter. Actually the one quoted in the CNN article Lou linked to. She bashed T-mobile for claiming 4g. I brought up the fact that technically no US carrier has 4g. She got very defensive. All she would say was "industry standard". I said "marketing". Dom

I only mentioned the Droid 2, to be fair to Motorola. I really dont the looks of any of Droid, Droid 2 or the Droid x. I am an HTC fan. Really like the Sense UI. I cant wait till I can get my EVO though. I have a Hero now. January cant come fast enough. Although, I am thinking of switching to T-Mobile. The Nexus S may be the way to go. I am really tired of waiting on manufactures and carriers to update the phones. I don't want to root because I don't want to break the warranty. The Nexus S will get everything straight from Google so it should be much fast on the updates. Dom

Do not try to turn this into a race issue. It is not. I am not in favor of segregation at all. That is not what this is about. It is about not wasting money busing people around just so we can say that schools are not segregated. People segregate themselves. There is no conspiracy to keep minorities out of good schools. Even though the NAACP, Al Sharpton and the likes will tell you otherwise. The truth (weather you want to hear it or not) is that it is easier for people to blame others for the lives that they live then to do something about it. Again. I am not in favor of segregation but I am in favor of people taking responsibility for their own lives and the situations that they find themselves in. If you are not happy with your life and surroundings do something about it. Don't expect everyone else to do something about it for you. If minorities don't like the school district they live in...fucking move. Like I said before, if they cant afford to live in an area with a nice school district they should do something to improve their finances. People bitch that money for schools goes to the "rich white areas". It is just ridiculous. Money goes to where it is collected from. I will admit that it is not easy to break a cycle of poverty but when parents don't stress education to their children or the importance of putting in a hard days work it will never be broken. Back when busing started it was a great idea. Desegregation worked. It worked because it really was a problem...back then. Now days (with a few exceptions of course) the people that are being bused have segregated themselves. By the choices they made in life. I am tired of paying for them to send their kids to a different school. That is not going to help. In fact it is being proven that when we bus people in it brings down the schools that they are being bused to. Why? Because the problem starts with their own parents. Not society. If you want to see examples of this? Come stay with me for a week. I will show you what you don't see. Ill show you the people that "benefit" from busing. Ill show you the attitude they have learned from their parents. I will show you the disrespect paid by them to other races. I will show you the two kids I saw on the subway this morning that threatened a "stupid white bitch" because she had the nerve to put her hand on the same pole that they were using. So she could steady herself and not fall over when the subway car stopped. These where 14 or 15 year olds. Talking to a women in her late 40's or 50's. I don't blame the kids for the way the act (even though I hold them responsible). I blame the parents. I can guaranty that they learned this at home. These are not the type of people that I want to have my tax money spent on. Dom

Jeanne you know I like and respect you. But it is getting tiring seeing you turn everything into a race issue. It becomes a seriously weak argument when everything is racist. I am not saying that racism does not exist in the world, but not everything is about race. Everything that you dont agree with seems to come down to racism. It doesnt hold water. This is a little of topic...I saw an article today that talked about how schools are becoming segregated again. NAACP is all up in arms about it. Whitey is getting together and keeping the poor minorities down by giving them shitty schools again. This is such bullshit. Schools are running out of money. They are laying off teachers, cutting programs (music, sports, art). It is only logical that they should look for other ways to save money. One of those ways is to get rid of the high cost of busing people in from other places. If parents want their kids to go to different schools. Then they need to move to those areas. If those areas are to expensive for the parents to afford...whose fault is that? I would like to live on Central Park West, but I cant afford it. Should I start blaming the white man for keeping me down. I am half black so it would be justified right? I mean I am a part of a bigger minority than people that are 100% black or 100% Hispanic. The truth is that ANYONE can make anything of themselves these days. The ones that don't... make those choices themselves. I have black relatives that live in poverty and blame the white man for all their problems. All the while, they have a brother that refused to use racism as an excuse and is an attorney and makes really good money. He laughs at his siblings when they complain they cant get a good job because of racism. He went to the same schools and grew up in the same neighborhood. Had the same parents. People make there own choices in life. Problem is, it seems these days it is to easy to blame others instead of taking responsibility for their own actions. Yeah well...my sisters dog gave me a bunch of "heaven" this weekend. Bastard decided to protest her leaving him for the holiday by shitting only in the house for 5 days. The one that really made me wanna set her loose in Central Park was when I took her for a 45 minute walk. She peed but wouldn't go poo. Went back in the house and had to take care of my business. When I opened the bathroom door...she had crapped right in front of it. Then she wagged her tail and rolled over for me to pet her belly. She is very lucky I like dogs. Sorry for your loss Turtle. Big mistake I used to see people make all the time with new canopies was putting to much pressure on it once you have it all folded up. People tend to put all their weight on the canopy trying to control it while getting in the bag. All that does is make it want to slip and slide and turn into a big old pile of crap. Treat it gentle and dont try to smash it flat. Dom
