  1. They are all 1-pin rigs. Jerry Baumchen You are now going by alias "The Lap Rig Guy"? Works for me. This a link to the manual. http://www.ssk.us/EAC_userguide_C2.pdf My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  2. Please explain this point. I would like to know why you think this before I strongly disagree with you. What you need to do is get comfortable belly flying first. When you do try FF and you mess up, as you will, the default position is belly flying. And on all jumps all jumpers revert to belly flying at one of the most important parts of the dice, the opening. jmo My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  3. I was not aware of that. Sorry for the misunderstanding on my part. Would you mind naming the vendor? My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  4. I believe you're thinking of class 1 and class 2. Class 1a has the same identification markings as the class 1. They are also both mil-spec and both approved by the military for critical use. Here is a roll I just picked up military surplus for very cheap. Should be good for practice. I just wish I could find some $20 a roll type 7... -Michael The only difference between Class 1 and Class 1A in the type of loom. Class 2 is not rated for “critical use”. The picture you posted did not appear to have ID yarn in it, but that could be because the webbing is black. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  5. Another tell to look for is the identification yarn required in class 1. On Type VII it is 2 yarns on each side, the salvage, and on Type VIII there will be 2 yarns down the middle of the webbing. Class 1 is always made using shuttle loom with nylon 6,6. Class is made with nylon 6 and can be shuttle loom or shuttle less. I have always heard the two referred to as “commercial grade” or “MIL-SPEC”. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  6. One of the reasons people like to with something in the 1:2+ ratio is that they are then considered a banner and not subject the rules of a flag. Mainly having it land on the ground. When you get above 10x15 it gets a little dicey catching it without getting cold cocked by the weight. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  7. They be had in the following sizes: 2x3, 3x5, 4x6, 5x8, 6x10, 8x12, 10x15, 12x18, 15,25, 20x30, 20x38, 25x38, 25x40, 30x50, 30x60 The ones in bold I have jumped. They were commercial flags made of nylon. Wikipedia lists the proportion as 1:1.9. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Here is a rough drawing of one I used for testing. They cost me about $300 to have fabricated. I then had them sprayed with rhino liner. You can adjust the weight by adding 25# bar bell weights. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  17. Took 100 ft. of rope and wrapped it twice around the wing strut. Wore a climbing harness with a carabiner attached. I had the pilot hold one end and I clipped onto the rope. Eased out of the plane and repelled down about half way and played superman. When we got over the spot I repelled off the end of the rope. One big problem, as the rope came out the carabiner it beat the crap out of me. Ended up with a split lip and a bloody nose. When I got back to the packing area I felt like n idiot. 20. I am a fan of the Skyhook, I have them on both of my rigs. I would be concerned about why she could not pull the cutaway handle. Mard, RSL, no RSL is moot if she cannot pull the cutaway handle, even if she can pull it with both hands. Not criticizing, just thinking some research into the cutaway issue is appropriate in addition to the RSL & MARD discussion. Maybe using a hanging harness set up where she can use her gear, including the risers. Derek V Derek, I think you will find that the position of the arm when the hand in on the cutaway handle is part of the problem. There is very little leverage. Modern gear cutaway systems are tested at twice the MOW and are not supposed to be greater than 22 lbs. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
