Nobody disagrees that it's a pilot's responsibility to learn about the TFRs in his/her area; not me, not Kallend. What the good Professor is saying, I believe, is that this particular TFR is both unenforcable by the authorities and impossible for any pilot, with any gear, to accurately detect its boundries. I think that what the professor is saying is that given ALL of the technology available to pilots today, that there's simply no way of knowing whether or not they are violating the airspace restriction or not. If it should be treated like any other medical information then why shouldn't it be treated like any other medical procedure? Christ, kids can't bring asprin to school with a note from their parents, no doctor will see them without signed consent from their parents, but for some reasons it's OK to perform a fairly invasive procedure on a minor without parental consent. Funny you mention that, my boss is a JW and we occasionally have a good discussion surrounding religion/the Bible. Just like politics, there's kooks on both sides of the aisle, I think. Edit: You wanna talk about fun, I used to share an office with a Born Again Christian, a JW who is rather high in the JW organization (my perception), and me, a middle of the road agnostic (I think). The fourth member of our team who had a cube down the hall was as athiest as they were relgious. Lots of good discussion back then, and you know what? Everybody got along.
