  1. +1 Love those... I still have my old 260 sitting in the closet.
  2. Kapowsin is my home DZ. It's very kid and dog friendly, but no climbing walls or regularly scheduled barbecues. There is a fenced dog run and a play ground for the kids. We also have a Super Otter, Super Caravan, and Porter at your beck and call for making all the jumps you want. There's a bunkhouse minutes from the DZ. Also a Super 8 motel and shopping just down the road. John Dear.... face it.... the beer at Kapow is a huge fail.... Busch Light is only appropriate for SCR ceremonies for pouring over the honoree. This DZ sounds like it got much of what we may want, but the beer issue matters. How is the crowd at that place? It's quite big then. I also am thinking of buying one of those cars with living in them to have on the DZ. Most important is the kids and the beer I guess. All I can say is drive over... bring your stuff.... Bring decent beer and check it out. pick a weekend soon.... westside weather will begin to deteriorate into hop and pops very soon now.... When that happens Alaska Air flights to Skyharbor.... PHX rent a car and head to Eloy... I did that once a month with 3 or 4 day weekends through the winter months to get full altitude. There are some days where the clouds part in winter but it is never a given that will happen for a month or so with no let up.
  3. It's not my fault I didn't do it
  4. Well, consider that it was Alabama. When they ask "Groom's family or bride's family?" the answer is usually "Both!" Easy to fit all the relatives under one tent when your family tree don't branch none. Apologies to Billy and all my other Southern friends, from a native born Texan. . . Well gee, its been 16 years. I don't remember the exact size, and yes we did have about 100 guests, actually a bit more as we ran out of empty seats. So yeah maybe the tent was bigger than 25 by 25. Her family (from CT, NY and NJ), my family (mostly AL), our college buddies (from all over) and my skydiving buddies made a good party. What kind of boy from Bama marries a Dayum Yankee .
  5. I have a 4th cousin from Bama here replacing the roof on my garage and now doing the house.... Weather had been crap down there and he was not workin.... I flew him up put him in the motorhome as a place to stay while he works.... He was the one I had in tow at Kapow when I was there last weekend or was that la\Labor day weekend.. I forget John. The garage roof was craaaap...BIG tree limbs and the wind has had its way with the metal roof several times. I think I may actually be able to keep the garage dry now... even in the wind and worst storms up here in the convergence zone..
  6. Invest in the TENT.. STAT.... https://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/USAK0012:1:US
  7. I even hear some people homebrew around there but... well they hoard that to themselves.

Please do not let her be anywhere near anyone who tries to convince her that girls can't be good at STEM.. Far too many people do that to young girls and women... Like it is uncool to be smart.... make sure she knows that is not the case It is far more uncool to be an idiot... no matter what the current trends are.

  11. Our dropzone in Mt Vernon WA was not that far from the Skagit River with a VERY high population of Bald Eagles. One of them liked to chase collapsed pilot chutes and once in a while would actually catch someones Funny to watch not so much for the owner of the pilot chute
  12. First thought was Donald lost his one wood. I don't think his wife and future wife would like that at all.

  16. You just gotta wonder about some people "Reports on the culprit are conflicting but Police Scotland have instructed residents to be on the look out for a man, or possibly woman under the age of 100, who may or may not have hands."

  18. Sometimes the tiger eats you. Seems Mom gets a great chance of getting a spot in the Darwin Awards this year. Personally I think the Tigers are just getting some payback for all of their species disappearing so men in china can get a stiffy... http://voices.nationalgeographic.com/2014/04/29/tigers-in-traditional-chinese-medicine-a-universal-apothecary/
  19. Official fire map: http://boulder.maps.arcgis.com/apps/PublicInformation/index.html?appid=cd569c1a616f4b258681716bbe5418f0 KBDU is closest to her house, and I followed the CH-47 there via WebTrak. I have no idea what else is based out of there. Something interesting: None of the other military a/c are shown on WebTrak (to be expected), but also, *none* of the slurry bombers show up on it either[/red ], which seems a little odd. Gee I sure hope no one hits the wrong button when they are flying over her house
